This is a red plated version of a modern classic Lamborghini Countach LP500S model (originally Item 24306). It recreates the special Countach made for Canadian Walter Wolf by Lamborghini, to meet his demands for even greater performance than the LP400 base model. Three in total were produced for Wolf, with features such as five-hole Bravo wheels, wide Pirelli P7s, front spoiler, rear wing, and -in the final two special models - a 500ps-plus 5-liter V12 engine.
1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 175m, Width: 85mm
Body and parts (excluding driver figure) come in red metal-plated finish.
Driver figure included.
Headlights may be depicted in either up or down positions.
Engine hood may be opened to showcase the engine bay.
Detailed interior includes custom instrument panel and bucket seats.
Functional front wheel steering.
Distinctive wheels are paired with tread patterned synthetic rubber tires.
The Lamborghini Countach (/ˈkuːntɑːʃ/; About this soundpronunciation (help·info))[6] is a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Lamborghini from 1974 to 1990. It is one of the many exotic designs developed by Italian design house Bertone, which pioneered and popularized the sharply angled "Italian Wedge" shape.
The style was introduced to the public in 1970 as the Lancia Stratos Zero concept car. The first showing of the Countach prototype was at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, as the Lamborghini LP500 concept.
The Countach was designed around the existing Lamborghini V12 engine in a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. In contrast to the Miura's transversely-mounted engine, the engine in the Countach was longitudinally-mounted.[9][19] This layout was a first for a road-going V12, previously used only in the Ferrari P-series racing cars.[20] However, chief engineer Paolo Stanzani wanted to improve the weight distribution of the car even further and devised a new type of longitudinal layout that would avoid placing the mass of the transmission at the rear of the car. The resulting configuration had the output shaft at the front of the engine, immediately connecting through the clutch assembly to the transmission. The transmission itself was a 5-speed manual with Porsche-type synchromesh[8] and was mounted in the middle of the car between the two seats. The driveshaft ran from the transmission through the engine's oil sump to a differential at the rear. This arrangement effectively sandwiched the length of the engine between the mid-mounted transmission and the rear-mounted differential. This configuration had numerous advantages over the Miura's transverse engine, including an increase in stability from placing more mass near the car's center, a shorter overall wheelbase, a more direct gear-shift linkage for easier and faster shifting, better cooling and easier maintenance access to engine components.[9][13]
The Lamborghini V12 used in the Countach originated in 1963 and was designed by Giotto Bizzarrini. Versions of this engine were used in preceding and then currently produced Lamborghini models including the 350 GT, 400 GT, Islero, Espada and Miura. As used in the Miura, this engine had a 3,929 cc (3.9 L) displacement, a 60º cylinder bank angle, double overhead camshafts per bank, two valves per cylinder, lubrication and distributor ignition.[9] Paolo Stanzani's engineering team wished to increase the Countach engine's power over the maximum of 279 kW (379 PS; 374 hp) as seen on the Miura SV. The 3.9-litre version had been tuned to be rated approximately between 307-324 kW (417-441 PS; 412-434 hp) in the experimental P400 Jota, but an engine of this specification was expensive to manufacture and was difficult to handle in normal city driving due to lack of low-RPM power. Therefore, the engineers decided to increase the engine's displacement to 5-litre, in order to extract more power while avoiding the usability problems of a race-tuned engine. Авто/Мото
In response to your opening statement -- personally, I appreciate watching you build your models whether I'm "into" them or not. I don't really care for trikes, trucks, or tanks, but I learn a lot from watching you work, and I really do appreciate your talent. Don't let the naysayers get you down! 😉
Thanks a lot Ernesto!
i'm the same way. i don't care what the subject matter is, i just like to watch you build.
Exactly!!! If someone doesn't like his style or model subject, then change the channel as we all used to say. I personally just admire the process of the build, and the music, lol!!! Chris does excellent work and is doing the modeling community a huge service by showing and actually explaining how to build whatever model is being built and I really like that about his channel.
Very cool to see that opening message - Your videos on occasion definitely show some deeper themes. These sorts of things add a lot of value to your videos and deserve a thanks.
Thanks!
I absolutely LOVE the backstories you give to your models!!!
Sideswipe would be proud. 🔥🔥🔥
Now this is a great rainy weekend build kit! Thank you for bringing this kit to my attention. Opening message, I loved it, you're not letting the trolls rule your channel. You build in a manner to show newcomers, and ones who kind of got out of the hobby, easy ways to get in, and back into the hobby. You keep on doing you, they are great videos.
@Cloud Burst 117 Thank you, I'm glad to see someone else shares these thoughts. Model building is going through and up and down, dying off stage. And I'm glad to see people like Chris trying to bring the hobby back. And especially from the aspect of different styles of builds. Trying to reach a wider audience.
Thanks Doug!
The closest I ever got to owning one of these in the 80's was a poster on my wall.
Now the closest I'll ever get to owning one is the Tamiya model.
Great car.
Tamiya kit is an upgrade from the poster...
me too :)
Thanks for joining the fun!
Gorgeous.electric lights (pop up) power wing specials fleet.
How did you know I used to blow up my unwanted models with fire crackers?!?!? Lolololol. Great video, Chris. Thank you.
One of my favorite model of Lamborghini cars back in the 1980's, great build, it reminds me of the one on the movie "cannonball run"😊❤👍
Yup!
I love your videos and look forward to seeing them every Wednesday and Saturday! I’m new to the hobby and I’ve learned a great deal from you. Thank you very much!
Awesome! Thank you!
People who don't have a hobby, are, to me, missing something. People who feel the need to criticize others, are telling us more about themselves than they think.
I have always, always always liked the Tamiya Lambo. Is it state of the art? No, not by a long shot! Is it possible to build a show winner with? Probably not, but, then again, who knows. Is it possible to build a gratifying models, quickly, with out much skills and or specials tools? HECK yes. I have had three of these kits, built them, and they have gone to that great trashcan in the sky. I am absolutely going to get a fourth one (albeit, the price is becoming a bit dear), and I am going to take a weekend, and knock it out, Thank you for sharing. Thank you for inspiring!
Great video as always. Blow it up with firecrackers - funny.
Thanks for joining the fun!
Haha, I did that as a kid, then I would rebuild the blown up model.
Yes! I had the motorized Lambo and Porsche. Thank you for the video
Thanks for joining the fun!
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!....
Perfect Monday night truckstop viewing , great build Chris
Thanks Ian!
Thank you as always brother for sharing your amazing videos and Please keep them coming. Everyone keep yourself and love ones safe and healthy and remember to smile it's a hobby and it's suppose to be FUN God Bless you all
Thanks Teddy!
@@hpiguy Thank you Sir for keeping your channel so entertaining and helpful we really really appreciate you brother.
Funny you mention blowin em up with fireworks....God I wish I hadn't done that as a kid lol
This was one of my favourite cars and Tamiya always make such lovely kits, your build looks great
Glad you enjoyed it!
My first Tamiya kit was a motorized Lancia Stratos. The chassis on this kit reminds me of that. I'm an eighties kid so yes, I had the Countach poster on my bedroom wall as well. To replicate that, I'll have to get one of these kits and put it in white! Had to click this video as I saw it.
Enjoy!
Lamborghini yes! One drove past me while I was walking in a Michaels parking lot. It wasn’t this one but it was so cool.
Thanks for joining the fun!
"Camel tone" with an "e" - thanks for the laugh Chris, I needed that!
Strong NNNNN!! LOL
Now that was funny for sure!!!
The Lamborghini Countach is my favorite car, all the way dating back to the 80s. :) Red is one of my favorite colors as well.
@Andrew Nicastro Cool, yeah it is amazing that it was that color. I guess the owner didn't like the current color that it was before they repainted it
Thanks for joining the fun!
Countach is the car as a kid you loved, as an adult you never want to own. Try backing up. There is a weird way to do it. It is hilarious. I loved the car as the kid because it was so special, but today there are cars so much nicer to own and drive. But yeah, Countach was culture to the maximum. Another great video!
Thanks for joining the fun!
The legendary Countach! I had a poster of one as a kid, and I actually got to see one in person at a car show back in 2009. Black with camel tan interior. It was a gorgeous car! Not a cheap knock off Fiero kit car, that's for sure lol
Lovely build Chris. Knock out job!
Thanks Mark!
Detailed camel tone is essential to any Lamborghini kit. 😁
Always, always pay attention to the camel tone.
@@hpiguy i get slapped by wife paying attention to that! . . . . . . . . . Oh, you said "tone"! Lol!
That looks great Chris. You did an amazing job, as always. Nice attention to detail.
Thank you!
Thx amigo!! I use alot of your building methods!!
Glad to help!
Chris, that was an awesome build of one of your personal kits in the collection! Nice to see something that you've built before when you were a kid! The beginning message is so true!
Thanks a bunch!
Very nice build of an excellent kit Chris! The interior is killer, great color choices!!
Thanks for joining the fun!
I love what you can find on youtube. I love your channel, I can see it bringing in a lot of younger guys into this craft as you have fun doing it and that's what is important. Its stuff everyone can do with minimal amounts of tools and materials. Perfect for someone just starting out as some of the more detail oriented modeling channels can seem overwhelming. Your channel is a great starting place for anyone to get into. Maybe we can get the kids off their butts playing all those car games trying to customize cars exactly how they want. And make them build the exact car they want. Great channel and keep building away!
Edit: and I love how you dont care what other people think of your work if you have fun doing it keep doing it. Everyone has different opinions and you cant make everyone happy😁
Thanks Brent!
I had a Blaupunkt stereo in my Trans Am! It sounded great!
Yeah!
One of my favorite cars. I built this kit in the past. Got it at a garage sale for 2 bucks
Thanks for joining the fun!
always great to see you do the models!
Glad you like them!
Heck yeah awesome build Chris
Thank you!
Other winner buddy!!! That's for sharing bro...👌
Thanks for joining the fun!
That looks awesome! Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love this car. Recently I have started to just paint the chassis Matt black and be done with it.
Thanks for joining the fun!
Great review! 👍
Always wanted to do a Lamborghini kit. Think you gave me the inspiration to do it. Fantastic job on the kit!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Spectacular job! I built one of these from testors back when I was 14. I was waiting for you to use your crackle paint technique on the seats and dash!😂🤣😂
LOL, the Repo Lambo!
i always like your choice of music, it's relaxing.
Glad you enjoy it!
Awesome a beautiful job you did on that great model
Thank you very much!
Love the opening statement
Thanks for joining the fun!
One of the all time best cars Lamborghini ever made, the Countach was the wet dream of everyone I knew as a kid, this turned out gorgeous. You should try looking for the old Fujimi Lambo Countach kit, huge number of parts with fully detailed engine, opening hoods and scissor doors, a really excellent kit, but be careful as it's a very delicate model.
Thanks for joining the fun!
This was my first Tamiya model. I found it on a clearance shelf in 1986. I thought it was odd and undetailed but I loved the wheel and tire combo. I thought parts were missing since there was no electric motor or wiring. It was a neat look at a model most likely meant for European and Asian markets.
Thanks for joining the fun!
Got to find one these that body finish needs nothing lovely kit thanks for sharing with what you did with this I would do exactly the same
Thanks for joining the fun!
Excellent work as always. Your opening statement is spot on. If people don't like what you are doing, then they should simply change the channel. I personally like your style and attitude of how to build a model. You explain things very well, offer tips about techniques, and actually teach a person how to construct the model that is being built and by that Sir, you are doing the modeling community a huge service and I appreciate it. I enjoy watching you work, especially hand painting, but of course, I only tune in for the awesome music, Lol!!!
Now, to the subject of this video, that Countach is super cool. I've seen pre-painted kits before, but clearcoated??? Now that's pretty cool. Good job on this one for sure!!!
Thanks man!
Two early 80s movies that played up the Countach big time were "Parasite," which was probably Demi Moore's first big screen appearance, and "Cannonball Run." The latter really made a big deal about the car's performance and speed as well as its uh... "accessories," meaning Adrienne Barbeau. She made it hard to concentrate on how awesome the Lambo was LOL! ;-)
Yup, good flicks.
Love the message at the beginning. I wish people would just enjoy their own lives instead of trying to make other people's lives miserable. I'm not just talking about building models but in just about everything people do. I quit mountain biking because I learned that those are about the biggest A-holes on the planet and I really enjoyed riding, It's pretty disgusting what the human race has become.
On a lighter note, love the builds and your words of encouragement to those of us that just want to enjoy something fun!!
Thanks Erik!
Every hobby has those that try to make it really hard for others to enjoy it.
Instead of quitting, just ride on past and let them be miserable on their own time. Same as I keep on building and having my fun. :)
Awesome...think we all had a poster or at leadt a school notebook with a countach on it...great job looks great...just in case if it can help anyone a q-tip with some 70% or higher alcohol can remove a sharpie boo boo and no damage...cheers 🍻🍻...
Cool tip!
Yeah, a Trapper Keeper with a bright red or white Countach was a must. With some neon zig zag patterns behind it.
Another beautiful build love the camel tone joke that was funny 😂😂😂😂.....thanks for the great videos really appreciate your channel love your builds you do a awesome job with your builds
Thanks for joining the fun!
This was my first Tamiya back in the day of the original release of the kit. It met the exact fate you describe, Chris, being destroyed by fireworks in my back yard. Good times!
Thanks!
Beautiful👍
awesome build ........ great camel tone.
Thank you kindly!
And thanks for getting the joke.
Speedzone was an awesome movie! I loved the opening scene of the movie. An technically it was slated to be named Cannonball Run 3.
It was fun!
I really appreciate your videos brothers forget what anybody says!
Thanks for joining the fun!
Always enjoy your videos! Like stopping in to see an old friend. Thank you from a fellow modeler.
Thanks bud!
looks great. i have the revell version. cool models
Thanks for joining the fun!
Hey Chris, have you considered getting a set of smaller brushes for your hand painting? Sometimes it looks like that larger brush works against you when you're doing your detail work. Keep up the good work, sir!
I have a lot of small brushes, I just forget to grab them and use other ones.
To each their own. Live and let live, Last but not least judge not lest you be judged what my mom taught me. Almost forgot kill them kindness. The last one works great the looks you get are priceless.
Thanks for joining the fun!
nice work!!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Nice work!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Still love the Countach.
One word to the "curb side" model with double AA batteries. The first esition of the kit as LP500 came on the market in late 1980s. It was filled with a electrical motor and wirings to let it drive by it own. You only had to fix the steering. I have it built and own it since mid 1990s
These cars were big in the 80s small when you seen them in person.
Thanks for joining the fun!
Your opening "statement" GOT TO ME !! Thank you !! I knew there was something more than your talent that kept pulling me back - you are a TRUELY THOUGHTFUL PERSON. Thank you Chris, for sharing. Now - The LAMBO - oh mah gosh if it ain't an Italian Countach.
Rock on!
Great review and build. Thanks. Hope your hand is healing up from them screw driver jabs. Peace
Thanks for joining the fun!
Oh yeah Chris! Brush paint + Glue straight from the tube - oops + cat hair + fire crackers = another one bites the dust! Been there there, done that - and in the end some sincere regrets for soooo many of those kits I wish I could again. Here three [R2 are you listening?] = Barris' XR-6; Wild Dream/Wonder (Doug Wilholm?); Don Tognotti's King T - last two were a MPC double kit - XR-6 came as double with '27 T touring - which had nice set of quad headlights. Still recall "Psychadelic Relic" decals for that one. BOOM! Please give us a better chance!
I'd love to see all those repopped.
Believe it @Kaybee toys in the mid '90s they had this and other Tamiya kits on clearance for 5 bucks , I had this and the Testarossa .
Nice!
It's nice to know this kit is still around.
Thanks for joining the fun!
Another great build man!! I hope you havent blown any if your kits up with fireworks lol
Not yet!
Great update I always loved the Lamborghini. Great build thank you sir . Have a great weekend
Thanks, you too!
It's pretty. Only thing that I don't like is that it used to be a motorized kit/make your Rc kit. But that's me. The result is awesome anyway. I dunno if Revell have re-issued theirs, but I think you could find it easily on the second hand market. Also, I think that Fujimi has done 2 kits of the Countach: one with the spoiler and one spoilerless, both have opening doors (well, from what I've seen in pictures).
Yup, there are a few versions out there.
Это G1 Сайдсвап/ This is G1 Sideswipe!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I really enjoy your videos and I've picked up some great tips. I know you have the Molotow pens (you showed them in a video) so I wonder why you use the Sharpie silver to outline trim instead of the Molotow 2mm? I think the tips are about the same size. Keep up the great work.
Sharpie dries almost instantly. I use Molotow when I have more time or for larger areas.
@@hpiguy Thanks. I understand now.
Great video. I love the Countach! Do you have a video of how you apply the future? I know it's supposed to level out nice but I've had mixed results when I've tried it.
Yes, numerous videos.
Search my channel home page for Future .
@@hpiguy Thanks.
Italeri makes a nice countach
The cannonball movies and speed zone were great movies.
Thanks for joining the fun!
😮
Reminds me of Sideswipe G1 from Transformers
I had Sideswipe before I knew what a Lamborghini even was!
Yeah!
Run it across the living room floor, get it loaded up with cat hair, then take it outside and blow it up with firecrackers. Hey, have you been spying on me? 🤣
2:11 LMAO!!! 🤣
LOL
My dad gave me on my 7th birthday as my first ever plastic model build
First kit I every got was a bburago build countach at a garage sale
I have a 1/24 Burago/Testors Countach that I built about 20 years ago. It is black and the body is diecast. Funny, I was showing it to my son as we were watching this video.
Great build as always, sweet to see you build a tamiya kit especially the lamborghini and what you say at the end is so true at the end your the only one seeing your finished build so if your happy with it thats all that counts
Thanks for joining the fun!
that car remind me cannon ball run movies car dean martin and Sam Davis jr. drives
I have tons of mini brushes. I just forget to grab them and am too stubborn to stop and try with them once I get going.
I thought Adrienne Barbeau and Tara Buckman drove the Black Countach?
LOL go out in the yard and blow it up with fireworks! Yes, that would be why none of the models I built as a kid survived. Love this car myself. Don't have a kit yet but am considering the Aoshima 1:24 scale kit.
Great build great tamiya kit. You keep building I'll keep watching
Thanks Bob!
If I recall, Lindburg also used to have "motorized" kits. It seems to me that they were big scale (1:8?) T-buckets.
Yup, quite a few kits with motors.
I remember lindberg used to make motorized battleships. You couldnt control them like a rc. You would set the rudder to one direction and it would go in circles. It also had some linkages coming off the motor that was connected to the big guns on deck that would make them turn back and forth and raise and lower as if they were searching. I built the german battleship Tirpitz. Actually still found some on ebay!
A great build of what was essentially a toy. I’ve got to believe that the negative dicks are always the same ones, who leave a thumbs-down and don’t bother watching the vids. To hell with them! Keep up the great work, my friend. Love the channel.
LOL, I don't worry about those peeps and you shouldn't either. :)
They bug me, in that they have nothing better to do than to tear you down, in what amounts to nothing more than jealousy. Here’s an idea: don’t watch the videos, or, if you do and don’t like it, just leave without the thumbs-down or asshole comments. How many times have you said that these are REVIEWS so your viewers know what they’re getting when they buy a product? I wish I was your friend, and I could come over and watch you build. I guess that’s essentially what I do every Wednesday and Saturday, with the added bonus of you not getting tired of my being there and throwing me out! Keep up the great work.
Great job. You make me want to go get one to build. U do your models your way, I love that. Love to watch your show.👍👍👍👍👍.
Thanks 👍
SUPER BUILD BROTHER LOOKS GREAT. Thank you for the opening statement because it needed to be said. It's soo sad that with everything that the entire world has been going through that some people still feel the need to dump on others who are just enjoying themselves with their hobbies or whatever they enjoy spending their time doing. You would think that with the amount of death and destruction we have all been going through you would be Thankful every single day we are still here and you would encourage your fellow man and woman to cherish and enjoy the things that truly make them happy EVEN IF IT'S NOT YOUR CUP OF TEA.
Thanks for joining the fun!
I think they still sell motorized kits for their models
Can you roll this? In other words, do the tires rotate freely or are they fixed?
🤨👍
Thanks for joining the fun!
You will realizate a modification in the wheels pass in this 1975 Countach by Wolf, you won't paint these, excellent.
👍👍👍
Thanks for joining the fun!
Awesome
Thanks for joining the fun!
What's the part number to this kit I might get one at my local hobby store
Is the tires can roll
Real nice mate👍
