Ferrari race cars were often painted with mops, brooms, and roller brushes
Last minute before going to the docks, back in the day..
You needed to see them in the pits, up close, at Daytona and Sebring....
NOT at the auto shows and later races back in Yurp!

CONGRATULATIONS FOR THIS BEAUTIFULL MODEL! Many years ago, it was 25 April 1967, I saw the Ferrari 330 P4 race an win the 1000 Km of Monza, driven by Bandini - Amon, with Scarfiotti Parkes on second place. After the victory, as usual a I nvaded the pit lane and I reached the car, smelling the hot engine parfume of oil, burned tire, and smashed mosquitos in the front of the car. The sound of the 12 cilinder, deep, loud and furious is something the I never forgot. Thank you for this beautifull reproduction of the best racing car ever!

Nice build - this Ferrari is my favorite car of all time.
A little FYI, in the video there is commentary that the 330 P4 and 412P are different cars, this is not quite correct.
Given they were hand built race cars every chassis varied slightly and cars had multiple body panels as they were crashed and rebuilt. Mirror configuration changes were made car to car and panel to panel.
The 330 P4 and 412P were exactly the same chassis, however, the 412P were sold by Ferrari factory to private teams and ran with carburetors. The P4 ran with mechanical fuel injection by the Ferrari factory team since it was new technology and faster. Mr Ferrari, ever image conscious, held back the fuel injection so the Ferrari factory had an edge (read faster cars) than the private teams he sold his cars to!

  • @MFKR696

A handy tip for polishing is to pre-load the polishing tool with compound before using it. Otherwise, you're essentially just sucking the compound off the surface with that dry cotton ball, which means you'll generally end up using way more compound than you really have to. Use one ball for each compound as well. It's going to pick up compound regardless, and you can't wash that stuff out, so you might as well just have a set of polishing consumables for each grit, especially considering that you do this for a living as far as I can tell. My father was a body-man (collision repair) at a GM dealership for almost 50 years, building hot-rods on the side until it became unprofitable, and he taught me quite a few things. There wasn't a thing going on in that shop that he didn't know every detail about, including PnP (paint and polish). Any time he'd see me painting or sanding/polishing my models as a kid, he'd always show me what I was doing wrong. One of the things he taught me is that you use separate tools for each compound, and you load each up with the compound it's intended for. This also quickens the polishing process, in that you don't have to bother with the futile process of washing compound off, and when you're at the next step, you can just clean the part, throw the next wheel/swab in, put some fresh compound on it and get after it.

That's beautiful. Very well done. Love the results you got from the clear without having to use toxic 2k paints.

    Exceptional!!!
One of my all time favorite race cars and the finish on this - wow.
I know I'm a layman, in regards to this - but still - wow!
I don't know when it happened, but model kit building has been turned into some kind of pro level. Modelers creating finish build that are beyond museum pieces.

Hello from Barcelona! I've seen this video like 20 times and I love it. I was wondering to build this car since I saw this tutorial the first time and finally I've bought it with same extra decals. I will follow this video and try to get that exquisite finish. Thanks so much Master!

Absolutely beautiful work. I am too old to get back into this hobby. After watching many of you videos, I was
tempted many times. I did buy a few
kits, nothing as what you would say are pro kits. They turned out not too bad, but seeing your professionism,
you motivated me to do better.
If your are not the best... then you
    are in the top 10.
    thank you

Thank you. Thank you for FINALLY getting an appropriate air brush to cover larger areas, instead of painstakingly showing us how to struggle with a 0.18mm needle/nozzle on broad areas of flat color... If only other you tubers would catch on... The Mr. Hobby PS-290 is one of the best. Made by Creos, the same factory that make Iwata, the PS-290 compares to the Iwata version in quality, and the nozzle cover is interchangeable, a great air brush.

This is one of the most beautiful model builds I have ever seen... Should be put on display in a hermetically sealed case visible from all sides.

I enjoyed this one because I think the 330 P4 is the most beautiful Ferrari ever made. As usual Plasmo has done a magnificent job.

Very nice! For the decals over complex detals, Please try a hot wet rag, and push it on the decal over the detail. Just take a rag, wet it, ( not soaking wet, wring it out to "Moist") throw it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds, it will be hot, be careful, just apply the decal as usuall, normal setting solution, and just use the hot rag on it after positioning it. Be careful because once you heat it and push it on.. its on. :)

I think the biggest takeaway from Plasmo's builds is to keep challenging yourself and you improve.
I just hate that he makes it look so easy :)
