@Jack Guest I dont know about stark and baratheins distant relatives, but in book two great houses are mentioned having distant cousina like the descendants of second sons. First arryns, in book other than robert arryn(robin in show) there is distant counsin who got arryn blood from his mother side, technically he is next in line to inherit vale, and other were lannisters of lannisport. Your comment remind me of one thing whenever the second sons of great houses were mentioned other than tywin brothers and oberyn their wives and their children, were not even mentioned or if they were married lr not. I may be wrong but thats i remember.

A couple different factors one because of the way she was raised he really didn’t have a touch stone for lack of a better work you don’t see it in the show but her and her brother were moved from house to house at random to keep Gendrys father’s assassins from killing them she really had no bounds so when she did form thoses bounds they became her life line then one by one she lost them uncle figure sister figure, then you had the capital reject her bed when she brought her army to a city the population welcomed her she was the beaker of chains and the savior of the north and then finally John’s true parents and his rejection of her it made her switch from the mind set of if they won’t love me they will fear me

Storms end belonged to the baratheons. Also if word goes out that Joffrey wasn't a true baratheon and that the lannisters murdered all of Roberts children... gendry might get supporter since he's Roberts only viable heir. Dany didn't want that competition so she legitimized him/won him over.
This also means that by recognizing gendry as a baratheon, the minor lords of the stormlands will realise there is another baratheon left to take their seat of power; after all gendry was seen hanging out with stannis and Melisandre a lot which will definitely convince some lords that he might have also been recognized by stannis. And just like that she added a kindom to her list of allies

I can't believe I'm defending S8 here, but I disagree. Gendry has proven time and time again to be a very loyal person, something that those around Dany would've likely informed her of, and something she'd seen herself during the terrible journey beyond the wall in S7.
Additionally, history has shown that even when people believe that someone is a bastard, they will still support them if they truly despise the current monarch, see Daemon Blackfyre I. So people would probably support Gendry's claim to the throne regardless of whether or not he was legitimised.
So, Dany raises him to become the Lord of Storm's End, thus securing his loyalty, as the show says, and because Gendry has proven himself to be an exceptionally loyal person, it's exceptionally unlikely that he would ever act on his claim if it meant undermining the Queen that granted him the position.
Now, let me reiterate, I'm in no way shape or form complementing the writing of S8. This plot point ends up being completely insignificant and when Dany is killed, Gendry basically has no reaction, because D&D didn't give enough of a shit to portray it. And Gendry becoming the ruler of Storm's End has no effect on Dany's assault against King's Landing.

She would’ve let sansa keep the north under a new oath that if they were to have a son and a daughter they would marry them to keep the thrones within the families but keeping the north independent. So if they would’ve followed in the story of daenerys being pregnant like they were planning in season 8 her son would marry one of Sansa’s daughters if she had one. I honestly feel like they robbed us so bad , I would’ve loved for Theon to end up with sansa , I know he didn’t have a cock but I mean greyworm didn’t either and he still satisfied missandei 😂 so yeah somehow sansa could’ve become pregnant with a daughter.

You mean like Robert and Lannisters tried to send assassins to Essos to murder Daenerys and her brother as babies even though they had nothing to do with their late father's actions?

She's bringing Robert's actions up to show that she is aware of them, yet she is choosing to legitimize Gendry anyway. She is not holding the actions of his father against him, and is giving him what should have been his by birthright.
If you think this is bullying, you must have a very loose definition of the word.

@@TheYasmineFlower but why bring it up to him, he never met the man. So bringing it up is completely irrelevant and unnecessary. Plus she did it in front of everyone like a asshole. If someone did they in front of you at work, i bet you would be feeling some type of way.

Even setting aside the sheer ridiculousness of it all, with no-one knowing who Lord of SE is (Tyrion should absolutely know it, it's his fucking job), or Dany creating a rival on a spot, why did it have to be so... lame and mundane? Where's the regality? The magnificene? This is the queen bestowing the highest honor on a baseborn boy, something he couldn't have imagined in his wildest dreams.... and it happens in a dinner hall, almost as an afterthought. He doesn't even have the decency to kneel, or to thank her afterwards. Also, why the fuck doesn't Dany wear a crown? Also, also, what the fuck did Gendry even do to earn this?

And I bet Gendry's lordship was not acknowledged by many others as it was a foreign queen that wasn't even currently the one sitting on the Iron Throne at the time during the moment she gave it to him

"who is lord of storms end"
Gee, Idk - ask Davos, ask Varys, ask literally anybody - because SOMEBODY should know who's next in line to one of the 7 kingdoms. But Nooooo, nobody cared about succession in the back half
