Imagine being Ron, doing 3 days of fab work (which he says he usually doesn't ever do for customers) and then being asked if all the work he just did will make an honest difference and he says "No." LOL~ I love it.
when Ronnie said "yes... I'm filipino" I feel like he's been bugged so many times by people asking ever since the NA all motor EK build for white ben lol now its asian ben's turn for a glow up ;D

Great series for you all. I like the way you all break up the episodes between the two cars. Excited to see your victories in the upcoming race series.
I cant explain how cool it was to rebuild your turbocharger! Especially being a long time fan it was really cool seeing your name on a turbo coming in for service, I hope you guys go on to kick some serious ass with this car on track! I have same turbo on my Evo9. It does great job. Almost maxed out at 37psi dropping to 33 on E85 on Mustang dyno 467WHP 431 torque. If you are not seeking big HP but great response this turbo is the best. It rips from 3000rpms pretty hard I have it since 2010. But i had to replace a cartridge already.
Aha! I had an FQ-440. Enjoyed it for what it was, lost of a lot of money on it, standard Evo stuff. Cool to think that one special edition had implications in a race series a decade later.
Why I run with 86s/brz unmodified, pretty much just weight reduction and driving skill, as niche as it is its hella fun and competitive Will be interesting to see if gen2 is worth all that much more on the track now because most of us ride will above the torque dip anyway.
@@NekoWinters it has like 30 more whp at the same weight. Of course it's worth it. It's like NC miatas having to do autocross against ND. With the same driver it's not even close. 20 more hp, 200 lb less weight, and smaller for better angles.
@@NekoWinters yeah imagine if it had a small turbo and made an extra 50WHP stock before an E85 tune, it would actually be competitive against a 260WHP 2200lbs civic
a filipino working on an evo of my favorite youtube channel is just perfecttttt. i'm a proud filipino. and of course and as always great video gandg!!!!
Ben you should add a intercooler sprayer setup like the evo 6’s had. Probably not a huge difference, but during hot track days I bet it will run more efficient, although it will be a bit extra weight, so who knows where the diminishing return will be
What a great series of content from the channel, it’s fascinating to see the builds on both car progress stage by stage can’t wait for the next episode
Ronnie Soliman! Nice! I'm a Filipino too. Been following Gears & Gasoline for quite some time now. I like the content and the way they are doing it makes me feel that I want to do those things in my car as well.
It would've been awesome if you just swapped the turbo and nothing else so we could see a direct comparison, but I'm thoroughly enjoying watching this series. Awesome work
My builder/tuner Adam tune plus inc from Minnesota but he builds the ecoboost platform, like mustang , focus, and fiesta. He’s building me the first 1000whp ecoboost mustang. My buddy is building his evo 8!! Can’t wait!
I remember halka telling me about the process he was going through to be approved to run the 209 turbo in Street. It was a part that he went and bought at the local dealership for a current production model car sold in the US. That's how you evolve the sport!
The "sound's like a Tundra" comment from Ron really is the icing on the cake for me. 😂

I Think Advance Autoparts & G&G should design a livery for the Evo. I mean they Make Amazing videos and give a lot of promo codes.
