Lots of people commenting on the noise restrictions at NCM- it's not the track trying to be killjoys, it's the fact that the track was built extremely close to neighborhoods, without any "noise abatement" structures. The result is neighbors who are constantly pissed off, and a bunch of guys with Corvettes that can't even show off how loud they made them. Curious if the homes were built there AFTER the race track was already there. Laguna Seca comes to mind....
@@ApexClubRacer no, they were there already. Presumably they were deadset on the track location because it was next to the Corvette Museum and near the factory.
@Gears and Gasoline ah that’s fair game then. Some noise abatement + restrictions would be fair game then. By the way, congrats on the podium!! A decade ago, I owned a white 2005 evo 8 GSR (w/ ssl package for those hardcore evo diehards) with Jdm 8 tails and 9 rear bumper too, so seeing your car on the track was nostalgic.
I JUST remembered my front Brembos did the same thing on my car, the caliper bolt backed out due to the stiff fortune auto coils I had on my car, and my calipers also hit the inner barrel too. Not at the track though, so damage was minimal. What a coincidence.
Why don't they just build sound deadening wall around the course? Problem solved.

Such a healthy event. Competitors healping each other. As achiles said to hector when he tripped "i wouldn't let a stone take my glory" in this case. They wouldn't let a broken wheel take their glory. Very good sportsmanship.

Yeah, no kidding, one of the most offbeat ways to lose a wheel. The fact that everything else was still working and he got the car back up by the next day, and managed to snag a podium, just makes it even more epic.
It may have made for an expensive weekend, but it could've been so much worse... I was worried he lost control and wiped out when it happened.

When the damage was shown and explained, I could physically feel my bank account cry even though it's not even my problem. Ouch. It's really nice that the other drivers are so nice and willing to sell setups on such short notice.

Congrats on podium! My friend had the same thing happen to his wheel at BW where the caliper can openered the wheel.
Nicely done keeping it under control! I had the exact same thing happen to my stock c4 corvette. One of my front calipers jumped the hold down pins on the pads and started to mill away at the front wheel, caught it before anything disastrous but my wheels got a nice groove cut in it.
