Thank you for the time stamps for different products. I AM BLOWN AWAY BY THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT YOU PUT INTO BRINGING US THESE VIDEOS. Truly appreciate it.
I simplified my skincare routine after discovering your channel and my skin has never been better. Who knows if it was some crazy coincidence and my hormones just magically balanced out, but I'm 100% sure your channel has saved me loads of $$$. Thanks for imparting your knowledge on us!
I second this!! Also started using acne medication with Adapalene in it (Differin in the US, but I use Tactupump here in Canada), and my skin has never been better. Thanks Dr. Dray!
I wish that could be true for me:( I have went to so many doctors and nothing from the dermatologist ever works or doesn’t continue to work the only products that seem to actually work are high end products like drunk elephant, farmacy, and herbivore
So true. I almost bought several products from the line, not sure why I decided not to at the end...but really, more money doesn’t mean better. Trying to convince my nieces of that (already label whores in their early teens) and hopefully save them from the gazillion dollars I spent over the years on useless high end crap.
Oh, well, of course - if everyone is buying it, then it MUST be good. Ha. It is the marketing that is brilliant. There is nothing in this stuff that justifies the cost.
Tl;dr The good: the protini polypeptide cream and b hydra serum combined together can be a very good moisturizer (don’t use the serum alone). The lippe balm can help with hyperpigmentation in the lips. The meh: the jelly cleanser is ok but you can get similar from aveeno for cheaper. The pollution protecting bronzer is probably not doing much for you with small drops. The bad: The vitamin c serum has the same issues that most vitamin c serums have: unstable and rapidly oxidizes on the skin. The sakari baby facial and TLC framboos glycolic acid mostly function as salicylic acid since we AHA % doesn’t inform us about effectiveness. The eye creams don’t do much that the protini moisturizer doesn’t do better. The terrible: The facial bars are far too high of a ph.
ShaunaB how can the protini cream be good if all it has are ingredients that do nothing for the skin derms have taken studies and the peptides and growth factors go beyond 500 daltons which means they can’t penetrate the skin which means the cream is usless
I'm interested in a Paula's Choice review, too. Some of what PC claims on their products (all done with research and dermatologists, supposedly) goes against what Dr Dray says most of the time. Or it seems to me. I'm more inclined to believe Dr Dray because she's not trying to sell me $200 worth of products.
Honestly, I was & still am disappointed! I had her "iconic" 2% bha & it broke me out, It also left a weird film that I did not like! I tried using it again a year later & the same thing happened no matter how i tried to use it! I had her mens line, the only thing I kinda like was the cleanser gel but get better results from my Freederm! I still have air tight samples of her sunscreens but i think I'm going to skip, they broke me out sooo bad last time (A lot of her products contain oils like sunflower which my skin hates) Anyway my skin is ok at the moment so might try them out...on 2nd thoughts, I am waiting on arrivals from Japan so i actually probably won't use any of her stuff again...Sorry not sorry, oh & pricey $$$... I think she lies a lot, her claims are a joke, I just don't like her at all, I have real skin issues & I really believed her claims at 1 point 👎👎👎👎😠 So glad I found Dr.Dray
Sam M Acids like BHA are well known for causing mild purging, likely the cause or you could respond poorly to one of the ingredients. Not the brands fault honestly, everyone is different. I like the BHA liquid from the Resist line personally, it’s the consistency of water and no tackiness.
This is by far the best and most informative review I’ve seen of Drunk Elephant. The scientific consensus of the ingredients in each product is hard to understand and analyze without your medical background and a lot faster to gain through this video as opposed to reading peer reviews articles on each of the ingredient and formulations on my own. Thank you so much!
I was actually just hoping for the same! Would love to see a Dr. Dray-approved alternative list for each of these products! I think this would be so very helpful to alot of us out here that just can't, or won't, spend the kind of money that Drunk Elephant costs....when it is constantly being shoved down our throats as THE ONLY skincare with any efficiency by EVERY Beauty Guru on RUclips 😕
I just want to THANK YOU Dr DRAY. I never thought of doing skin care much in my 20s because i find these products by high fi name are so expensive and i used to use Cetaphil. As soon as i entered in my 30s last year, i was buying expensive products but after watching ur videos like seriously changed my whole life and perspective about these products. So i just want to THANKYOU, you have saved my bucks and i try to stay updated with my skin care. i love products that you recommend from drug store and they are in my budget. I cant explain how amazing you are. :)
Dang you spent some $$$ i should write you a check for all the money you’ve saved me! I’ve said this many times but thank you so much for all that you do I tell everyone about you!
cinlocybin this is not “one person” experience this a a dermatologist experience on the vitamin C and her scientific over view also let me tell you a secret most of those serums have silicone which will give you a brightening effects a cheap ingredient... I bought a vitamin C (way more cheaper because I find those brands over priced) and did the same brightening effect due to the silicone in it. Also here in Europe we have a lot of good brands with their own labs that sell much more affordable vitamin C like Sesderma. Here must people won’t buy overpriced products that became famous on RUclips.
@@magnoliabranca5149If you follow most RUclipsrs, you would be broke in a week. They love to recommend Sephora carried products, which tend to be expensive. Then they hype up so many products that you would needing an apartment just to keep all of the products. I find that it is mostly what you put inside that will make the most difference for the skin.
Your expression in the thumbnail says it all. 😆 So in conclusion, don't fall for the hype.... There's something very relieving about being told from a medical doctor that we don't have to go broke in order to have good skin. Sobering, actually. Thanks for the research and video, Doc. 👍
Thanks for doing this review so people get a better perspective on this brand and can make more informed decisions on whether or not to purchase. Personally, their products were really bad for my skin and I had to stop using. Also really dislike their marketing, it's all buy, buy, buy, and no concern about their customers.
It's so funny how easily we are seduced by brand hype. The marketing teams know this and we all need to learn and be careful. THAN YOU for your clear and sensible review.
A couple of years ago, a dermatologist asked my mom what she was doing to her skin because of how good it was. My mom had and still has the most simplistic of routines. Now after seeing your videos I know mom was on the right track. Simple is always best. Thanks for your contribution to saving my wallet!
I still can’t understand why companies are still putting fragrance in products. I have been using fragrance free for over a year now and my skin has really improved. I still get spots as I have oily skin. I have been using dr Sam Bunting’s flawless cleanser and have just ordered her moisturiser and would recommend it. I live in 🏴 Wales (uk) and would urge everyone to go fragrance free 👍🏻🙂
annette Buttle can you please let me know how the moisturizer work for you. I'm trying to go fragrance free but can't find one ff that works for my skin here in the U.S. ? I have oily skin and am 50 in 4 months.
I totally agree, I've been fragrance free for a few weeks and am already seeing improvement! I always thought that I had sensitive skin, but it's just fragrance in skincare that's to blame, I'm almost certain. What is worse is that they putting fragrance in skincare targeted at sensitive skin!
Michelle Tidler I am also using Clinique as they are fragrance free. So I’m using both at the moment as I hate waste. But when Clinique is gone I will use dr Sam. But Clinique is good too. I’m 46 and has helped me to.
I've found that Dr Sam's cleanser is fine but still makes my skin feel a bit tight. Having said that - I reckon my 'hard' water isn't helping the situation. Her rich moisturiser is nice on my dehydrated skin but the lighter one doesn't do much for me
You are incredibly dedicated to your viewers to spend $800 and 3 months trying out Drunk Elephant products. The company has an great thing going if they can convince their customers to spend $2,400 to $3,200 a year to keep up with their beauty regiment, that's a significant amount of money out of your pocket and into theirs. Thank you for helping us spend our money wisely and efficiently. Happy Monday 😊🍁
As Dr Dray has commented herself, many people spend this amount of money on product there is no research behind yet they balk at spending $200-$300 for a tube of Retin A that HAS the research backing it. A tube of Retin A, although it might cost people in the US so much, lasts a good year with everyday use, that's less than $1 a day!
@@amandaf5664 yes , l use prescription retinol and have been very happy with it. I think that's the best place to put your money, except for sunscreen 😊
It’s not that much a year unless you’re drinking it. I used it for a year and the trunk is most of what you need. Even if you got two of those that wouldn’t even be 1,000.00 and that would be more than enough for a year. But it’s good to know what might be best of the products.
A dermatologist told me years ago to use Cerave Sa lotion for the keratosis pilaris I started having on my arms. After that I tried all the cerave products and I love them all! it’s nice to know that you are behind that brand 100%! I’ve never spent money on expensive skincare and I’m glad I haven’t been missing out. Thank you for your videos!!! I’m learning so much still!
I keep the Lippe Balm in my purse, but use Aquaphor or Lanolips at night or if I'm not going out. I have rosacea (including ocular) and very sensitive skin. The Beste cleanser is hands down the best cleanser I've used in decades. Also I didn't have an issue with the C tango in the eye area. I thought it was quite brightening. I only had a sample and may buy it at some point. Thanks for this video. I enjoy listening to you since you are so knowledgeable about ingredients and don't think everything is " amazing and a must have!" So many on youtube are uninformed and just trying to sell something.
I too have a light case of rosacea (I’m not sure if it will get worse with age 🤷🏼♀️) but DE has really helped reduce the redness although I can also say I have to be careful cause sometimes if I use too much then I feel hot in the face.
BTW, the papers listed below are very persuasive! you are more like a scientist who are very precise and cautious in your opinion! Well done and thank you, Dr. Dray!
Thank you for paying out your own pocket for these products for the sake of us!! I know you definitely will never go to Sephora and buy things like these but for our demands;);) love u ❤️ ❤️😘😘
I really appreciate you reviewing the entire line for us! I used and tried the night serum and marula oil about a year ago. I enjoyed the marula oil, but I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for it again (I got both during Sephora's 20% sale). Now, I just stick with the neutrogena gel-cream and cerave PM that has been a winning combo for me. As far as the night serum, I loved it for the first few months of use till I had to stop when my doctor put me on retin-a for acne. I found that I got better results from my retin a (that is only $10 since my insurance actually covered it) than I ever did with the night serum. I still kick myself for ever buying into the hype! There is absolutely no reason any of these products should cost so much!
tretinoin (retin A) has far more evidence to supports its use than anything DE and I am really glad to hear you were able to get it covered by insurance
The long-waited video from my fav Dr. Dray!!!! A lot of RUclipsrs talked about how beneficial DE products are without getting deep into the drawbacks/benefit of ingredients, highly bc they are compensated or won't be held account for our skin. Dr. Dray, as always, thank you for being our go-to advisor rather than the brand's spokeswomen!
Ellen I think it also has a lot to do with the likelihood that a majority of those influencers know very little about skincare and therefore should not be recommending products to anyone!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do such an in depth review. I feel like such an empowered consumer now and judge all products throughly before shelling out any cash.
I put the pink baby facial to my neck, and it's now peeling badly!! drunk elephant had nothing to say about this and I'm so confused until I watched your video! in my opinion, your advise are way better and trustworthy than any fancy brands!
dang! drunk elephant really breaks the bank, thanks so much for doing this in depth review so amazing!!! I used the marula oil last winter and it really helped my perioral dermatitis but now I just use it to moisturize my neck before bed, and when it's out I won't be repurchasing because neutrogena hydroboost is where it's at for me!
if you do want to keep using marula oil, you can buy a 1 oz bottle for around $15 on amazon, same virgin, unrefined quality and same size bottle that DE charges a ridiculous $72 for. hope that helps to save you some $!
me too! The only thing I use from drunk elephant is their sunscreen now. They are very moisturizing and the tinted one is perfect for my asian skin tone
your videos literally changed my life! i went to the drugstore with my best friend and helped her find face wash, body wash, moisturizer, and of course sunscreen all without fragrances and it’s all because of your videos! we just went through her shower and got rid of all those irritations in pretty packaging. thank you for all you do!
Am I the only one who accidentally watches other videos and then comes back to the real doctor with less money and a ton of regrets. This chanel is amazing.
I've had so many people recommend your channel to me!! I love how honest you are! I'm going watch your videos today!! I've been struggling with my skin care the last few years!!! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise & honesty💛
You are the absolute best! I love the fact that you’re honest and just don’t give positive raving reviews about sponsored products. Not to forget that you do know your stuff. I can trust you with my life. My skin has done wonders since I started following your advise. You’re a beautiful person in and out who takes out precious time to help others. I really really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
Coffee and Doctor Dray! It’s going to be a good day. I’ve been waiting for this review. I love that you break everything down in the ingredients and site actual clinic studies to explain how these products work. That makes it possible for me, a layman and consumer, to understand what I’m purchasing and what it will do for me. I’ve been very interested in trying drunk elephant, and I have seen a lot of praise for the products, but I made a promise to myself to wait for your opinion on the brand. As per usual, you do not disappoint. I will give the Protini and B Hydra a try, as I am prone to extremely dry and dull skin. I will stick to Cera Ve for my cleansers, sunscreen, and lip products though. As for a skin oil, I’ll stay with my tried and true 10 dollar, cold pressed, organic Rosehip oil for added moisture and anti-inflammatory properties. My bank account and sensitive skin are forever grateful.
Hands down the most thorough, informative, unbiased and honest review from a truly trusted source!!! I hear way too many glowing reviews about this brand that in itself lends to suspicion, so this was so refreshing. Thanks again Dr. Dray for another amazing video!! I'm so glad to have found your channel😙
Hi dr Dray. Thanks a lot for the review. I too was curious, there was so much hype (positive and negative) around this brand. Personally I am not going to try it because I think prices are a rip off. There are great products out there but cheaper. Also their annoying insisting on Suspicious 6 and the arrogance of the owner (saw an interview with her) put me off. Really appreciate the unbiased review from you. Trust it completely!
Caroline Hirrons talks about that, especially the brand's habit of fending off complaints from customers experiencing irritation from their products by insisting that it MUST be a different product the customer is using that has the "suspicious 6" (eye roll); if the customer was using ONLY items without the suspicious 6, (i.e.: their products), they wouldn't be experiencing the reaction. This, of course, is stupid. Some of the "Suspicious 6" are usually non-irritating for many people (as Dr. has talked about in her videos on parabens, chem sunscreens). And many things that are NOT on their "Suspicious 6" list, but in THEIR products can be irritating to others.
@@annabaker4857 Hi Anna. Thanks! Saw that video with Caroline. Also saw an interview that the owner Tiffany (?) gave to Nadine Bagotte. After that any wish I had to try their products was gone. However, many like them.
Girl you spend $800 on this product line? Well, I certainly will not be using it but I do want to thank you for this extremely thorough review for those who are considering it. For myself I have adopted a very minimalistic skin care routine which I feel like is working just fine for me. On a lighter note what is your candle of the week? I’m on cranberry.
their retinol cream is amazing, the A-passioni. Worked wonders on my skin. IT was helpful to hear more about the otehr products too. I also liked the B hydra serum, but he price is a bit too high for what it is.
I soooooooo appreciate you for all the time and money you put into doing these for us. I’m on a serious budget I can’t waste a single dollar. You have saved me SO MUCH MONEY AND TIME THANK YOU.
My acne finally subsided but I was left with brown hyperpigmentation on my face. I decided to get the Vitamin C serum from drunk elephant. 3-4 months into using it the dark spots have lightened significantly. I don’t use any other DE products but for me the vitamin c serum helped so much.
I saw on realself Dr David Lim recommended the Obagi Hydrate Moisturiser for mixing with Retin A. I've been using it myself, and have had next to zero irritation on Retin A.
fraze1 I have used Obagi for almost a year. I know my opinion doesn’t matter but although it is fine I don’t know if I would say it is life changing, and for the price it should be life changing IMO. One product I really hated of their’s is a day lotion called “exoderm” I believe. It is meant to exfoliate but I found it just sits on the surface and then rubs off in little peeling pieces. That is the only one I have a strong opinion about.
Thanks for the extensive and honest review, Dr. Dray! I think Drunk Elephant is too overpriced and over-hyped brand and I`m glad there are still people on the internet who have some integrity and critical thinking!
Can you do some baby products reviews/recommendations? After watching your videos I have paid more attention to the product list and to my surprised I noticed that even very well established brands for babies a few months old , have perfume in them.
I constantly look out for as much information in relation to how an ingredient works and I am glad I have found another platform that provides great review and explanation about active ingredients, review of products containing them and how they could work.
I love the olay stuff, made my skin so gloooowy and healthy looking. But not within my budget atm. Just wish they left out the fragrance from their luminous line too.
ever since I started using it I can't live without it! my skin just isn't the same when I don't use it, even when I try to replace it nothing works as good
arianna hyatt totally agree, I’ve always suffered from terrible dry skin especially on my cheeks and it seriously rescued my skin. Haven’t had any issues since I started using the cream
Dr. Dray, do you have any videos on PCOS related acne? Also, thank you for pointing out that people with bee allergies can be sensitive to honey. I am very sensitive to honey, especially on my skin. I've always assumed it was because I'm allergic to bees. No one I've talked to about it has ever heard of a correlation. You validated my suspicion.
Brad Deprise I have this and use it sporadically. I don’t hate it but don’t use it very often. It kind of smells weird. I use the TNS eye cream and it’s great. Their hyaluronic acid is nice. The doctor’s office told me to mix with water so I would use less and it would still be effective. I would buy it again. The texture is amazing. It’s very expensive but I like it.
I got a sample of SM's Dermal Repair cream. I noticed significant improvement in the appearance of my skin immediately. Can't spend $130 bucks, but boy am I tempted. Living in a cold climate, a 55yo with dry skin. I, too, am interested in a SM review. I like their sunscreen Total Defense and Repair...also pricey. Generally am at the LRP and Elta MD price point for products. Remain very impressed with SM and wondering if worth the price. Hope she considers it eventually.
@@jessicacastellon7659 She basically says they are a waste of money because they are just another type of moisturizer. Also, a lot of them have essential oils and other skin irritants that are touted as being beneficial but in reality do more harm than good.
Wow! I didn't jump around because I wanted to hear all that you had to say about DE. Thank you for breaking it all down and even going so far as to buy the products and use them, too. You are so helpful and informative! I believe that we all are becoming better consumers because of all the work that you do. Thank you, Dr. Dray! ♥
Your one brand overviews and ‘shop with me’ videos that you put out are my favorites!! So much great info I have been interested in Jordan Samuel Skin Care, and I was wondering if you have heard of it or had any thoughts on the brand that you could share in a video? Thanks so much!
Wow you did it 😀, the intoxicated pachyderm. You will please a lot of people with this review doc ! I haven't got to the end of the video yet but even if there were some good products the price means I'm not likely to buy any of it. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos and going into Sephora too, I'm surprised you didn't spontaneously combust 😂 x
Very very very helpful. For average consumers looking for new skin care products, we don’t necessarily know all what will happen with these products. Considering the high prices of drunk elephant, hearing a logical review from a dermatologist is extremely helpful. Thank you for saving me from spending so much money on these products
Dr Dray an hour of you is worth every moment I can’t believe you stepped foot into Sephora now that’s taking one for the team now if you go to the Mac Counter my head will really spin lol you are the best
Thank you for the amazing review. If you did this for other brands, a deep dive on the entire line, I would watch the entire video for sure. I learned so much!
Very disappointed in the TLC Framboos info. I thought I was getting a good Night Serum for what it's advertised to do. So basically 1% salicylic acid for $90 30ml., that's outrageous.
@@Sebadoh1994 I use their gel cleanser, protini moisturizer, framboos serum and their retinol cream. Its been over a year and I get compliments all the time and asked how come I have 0 wrinkles at almost 40. My skin loves their products and people always assume I'm in my early 20s! 💜
Now that you bought some of the range, are you going to be using anything from the range, or gifting some things to your mom? Just curious. If the oil doesn't work on the face, you can use it on your hair no problem. On freshly washed, damp hair, just a few drops, spread between palms and smoothed over the lengths ear down or just on the very ends. It's what I do with my oils (I have fingertip length wavy/curly hair).
I honestly give you so much credit for reviewing the products honestly and completely. You didn’t leave anything out and you have saved me so much money. I can tell that you are such a dedicated dermatologist and I feel like I’ve learned so much about skincare just from watching your videos!
Thank you for doing this review. I will note that serums are intended to be used underneath moisturizers. They are not complete in their ability to prevent trans epidermal water loss.
My boyfriend and I both use the protini moisturizer and we love it! It keeps me hydrated and for some reason has helped my acne, if you see this, do you know why or what ingredients would cause it to help my hormonal acne? When I ran out and used another moisturizer for a few days I noticeably got more pimples. However, this is the only DE product I will buy- I love it though!
Hi! I got my sample from Sephora that included the Protini moisturizer (15ml size). I have awful hormonal acne on my chin and I have to say that since I started using it, no new breakouts!! I have struggled for 3 years and spent thousands of dollars on skincare and this is the first time I haven’t broken out and it’s been 15 days since I started using it. I would get breakouts EVERY SINGLE DAY. I would love to know what is in this that would help my acne calm down?! :)
Yay! Thank you so much for your review! Also, thank you for purchasing the items. When I asked for the review, I did not think about the “purchasing part of it” 😳so thank you for that as well. You surpassed my expectations through teaching me even more about ingredients. I consider myself a educated person that unfortunately has fallen for expensive hyped up skincare which is why I adore your channel! I can tell you keep true to yourself and your channel radiates truth, which is refreshing these days! Thanks again!
The DE vitamin C serum actually worked really well for me. Within about 2 weeks I saw a lot of clearing/fading of my mild melasma on my face. they did slightly change the formula around the time this video was uploaded. I don't really use any of the other products, but the C Firma I love.
I love how informative and honest you are! I recently bought most of the drunk elephant products, but I would love to see a Paula’s choice review as I’ve been hearing good things about them!
Thanks for this video, Dr. Dray. I’ve used Drunk Elephant for about 6 months now to help clear up my hyperpigmentation and it has worked WONDERS. Given all the information and knowledge you shared in this video, how do people (like me) see such amazing results from DE products? I know I’m not the only one that has found these products skin changing so I’m just curious. I value your opinion very much but see a discrepancy in your review of these products and my personal experience with them. Thank you!
Great in-depth review. I personally can’t use these products R/T numerous food allergies. And I truly can’t afford it. I’ll stay the course with my affordable skin care because the most important point you make is consistent use. Thanks again!!
GOSH ITS GABE she already basically answered this. You really want something that isn’t one note like shea but instead has humectants, emollients, and occlusives.
Have you done a review on the Mad Hippie skincare line?... I've been looking at it for a couple years but can't pull the trigger bc of cost & not wanting to waste money.
I never knew fruit extracts count as fragrances which now makes sense why I always develop a pimple or two when I use the jelly cleanser! Thank you so much
Are there any negative effects on the skin from not bathing for a long time? Ie. homeless people. (I’m a nurse and want to properly educate my patients!) and also thanks for this video, I really wanted to know about drunk elephant!
I'm not a medical professional, but I work as a home health aide for elderly people. Off the top of my head- not bathing can lead to skin infections, genital infections, rashes, athlete's foot/jock itch, dandruff on the scalp and other scalp issues. And the smell can be horrendous, as I'm sure you know. That's the smell of bacteria eating your dead skin cells. (Sorry that this is so gross, but regular bathing is so important. Even once or twice a week can be so beneficial.)
Katelyn Jacobi - oh yes I agree! But sorry I didn’t specify my question. I meant not including genitals and scalp, like is it ok to just not clean your leg or back or arms without harm? some homeless women may have wipes for use at their genitals but they can’t afford to use them on their whole body.
Thank you for the time stamps for different products. I AM BLOWN AWAY BY THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT YOU PUT INTO BRINGING US THESE VIDEOS. Truly appreciate it.

Not insane at all. People are buying it up in droves. Actually quite brilliant.
Oh, well, of course - if everyone is buying it, then it MUST be good. Ha. It is the marketing that is brilliant. There is nothing in this stuff that justifies the cost.

Tl;dr
The good: the protini polypeptide cream and b hydra serum combined together can be a very good moisturizer (don’t use the serum alone).

Thanks for your review Dr. dray! 👏🏼
Thanks for watching! Hope you had a nice trip 💜
Awww I love you both so much!
Same!!!!both wonderful youtubers
@Jayson Gary Oh I totally believe you.
Hands down the best skin care channel and skin product advise on RUclips. I don't listen to anyone else.
Can u also make dupes video in comparison with all the highend products and drugstore products that are readily available in US?
seductiveblush yaaasss dupes dupes dupes!
yessss!!!!
THIS WOULD BE SOOOO HELPFUL! 🙌
Good idea!! Please make it happen dr dray..👩🏫
Thanks for watching 💜

One person's experience isn't the same as another's. You should read more reviews from other users. For me, the Vitamin C serum has been amazing!!
cinlocybin this is not “one person” experience this a a dermatologist experience on the vitamin C and her scientific over view also let me tell you a secret most of those serums have silicone which will give you a brightening effects a cheap ingredient...
50 minutes! Now that's a lot of dedication. Love how passionate you are about informing your viewers on products
Your expression in the thumbnail says it all. 😆 So in conclusion, don't fall for the hype.... There's something very relieving about being told from a medical doctor that we don't have to go broke in order to have good skin. Sobering, actually. Thanks for the research and video, Doc. 👍
Right!? I'm starting to think my mom was right. She just uses a soy based drugstore cream and looks 25 years younger than her age.
joannej_1974 RUclips and my Dad has been using Nivea in the blue bottle for ever, he is 87 and has just few wrinkle!
Thanks for doing this review so people get a better perspective on this brand and can make more informed decisions on whether or not to purchase. Personally, their products were really bad for my skin and I had to stop using. Also really dislike their marketing, it's all buy, buy, buy, and no concern about their customers.
As a French user of cosmetics, I want to thank you Dr Dray. Your reviews are so precise, accurate, interesting, and professional.
Thanks!
It's so funny how easily we are seduced by brand hype. The marketing teams know this and we all need to learn and be careful. THAN YOU for your clear and sensible review.
Juliana Merz so true!
I believe the higher the price, the more people think it’s a better product 🤦🏼♀️
Thankfully their marketing team fucked themselves in their butthole with how they treated criticism online
Michelle Tidler
I am also using Clinique as they are fragrance free. So I’m using both at the moment as I hate waste. But when Clinique is gone I will use dr Sam. But Clinique is good too. I’m 46 and has helped me to.
Try using Paula's Choice products
Thanks for watching 💜
And that’s more than enough money needed to visit an aesthetician or a dermatologist
I'll stick with my CereVe thank you! Informative vid.
Me too. Tried and true
Same here luv all of cerave!
CORRECT!
Love CeraVe 😍 but I have some of these DE products work well on my skin.
Which Cerave products do you use and recommend?
Dray!
Thanks for watching 💜
That was the fastest and most enjoyable 50min video yet! Thanks Dr Dray! Saved the day again x
thanks for watching
My skin hates Drunk Elephant. I'm not too sad about it since they're ridiculously expensive.
Thank you for paying out your own pocket for these products for the sake of us!! I know you definitely will never go to Sephora and buy things like these but for our demands;);) love u ❤️ ❤️😘😘
You have just answered why I took a severe reaction to the pekee bar. I’m allergic to propolis!!!!!!!
sorry to hear that happened 😫
Dr. Dray, as always, thank you for being our go-to advisor rather than the brand's spokeswomen!
thanks for watching
Ellen I think it also has a lot to do with the likelihood that a majority of those influencers know very little about skincare and therefore should not be recommending products to anyone!
Kimmy Knight Agree! That’s the reason I limit my subscribed skincare channels to only Dr.Dray and a few other dermatologists
Thank you so much for taking the time to do such an in depth review. I feel like such an empowered consumer now and judge all products throughly before shelling out any cash.
Thanks for watching 💜
I put the pink baby facial to my neck, and it's now peeling badly!! drunk elephant had nothing to say about this and I'm so confused until I watched your video! in my opinion, your advise are way better and trustworthy than any fancy brands!
i am sorry to hear that happened
Rewatch 8:30 skin sensitivity is mentioned.
That’s happened to people using products she’s recommended too though. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad product.
Very detailed review. I would love to see you review Paula's Choice best sellers products. Thanks so much!
Thank u so much for the baby face facial review !!
dang! drunk elephant really breaks the bank, thanks so much for doing this in depth review so amazing!!!
You could buy $10-15 marula oil at Whole Foods, it’s very good!
Drugstore dupe from CVS of the hydro boost works as well as the original. I love it. I wish it had been around when I was a teen with cystic acne
your videos literally changed my life! i went to the drugstore with my best friend and helped her find face wash, body wash, moisturizer, and of course sunscreen all without fragrances and it’s all because of your videos! we just went through her shower and got rid of all those irritations in pretty packaging.
thank you for all you do!
I would just never pay that much for skincare. They have absurd prices, in my opinion.
Am I the only one who accidentally watches other videos and then comes back to the real doctor with less money and a ton of regrets. This chanel is amazing.
Thanks for watching!
I have spent a pretty penny on Drunk Elephant in the past so I know what you spent to create this video for us. Thank you so much!

Why do ppl swear by this brand then???? They must b doing something right...why have they made millions???
maJESStic77 *** lots of influences get sent drunk elephant packages. It’s on trend and looks pretty, and expensive of course so that all plays a bias

A 50 minute Dr.Dray video?! Yes, please!!! 😍
thanks for watching 💜
Yes! I need at least 40 minutes on the treadmill! Lol 😂
50 mins worth of my time, thank you so much!
Yaaaaaassssss, dang Doc, another great video! Thank you for taking the time to break it down for us, you're the best!!

I feel like I have my own dematologist. Love your videos
Thank you so much. Commenting for the algorithm. I've said it before - you deserve all the success you get.☺️
Thanks for watching & commenting....commenting is cumbersome for the viewer and I appreciate that you take the time to do so
Dr Dray Pleasure to.
DE’s stock is shaking. Great video as usual, Doc!
@@annabaker4857 Exactly! Anyone can be sensitive or allergic to anything.
I noticed slimming down my routine means clearer and less red skin for me, im still trying to figure out my HG products.
So helpful, I knew there was nothing amazing about this brand and their products, plus it's expensive!
their retinol cream is amazing, the A-passioni.
Omg dr dray thank you for making this video I haven’t watched it all yet but I will thank you! And happy Monday
Happy MOnday
My acne finally subsided but I was left with brown hyperpigmentation on my face. I decided to get the Vitamin C serum from drunk elephant. 3-4 months into using it the dark spots have lightened significantly. I don’t use any other DE products but for me the vitamin c serum helped so much.
Can you do a review on some of the obagi products?
I saw on realself Dr David Lim recommended the Obagi Hydrate Moisturiser for mixing with Retin A. I've been using it myself, and have had next to zero irritation on Retin A.
YES! I'd like to hear Dr Dray's opinion on the ZEIN OBAGI exfoliation accelerator as well. Is it good or more, expensive BS???
Their vitamin C isn’t worth the price, it contains fragrance, and it’s highly irritating for sensitive skin.
fraze1 I have used Obagi for almost a year.
I would love that because I use a bunch of obagi currently!
Thanks for the extensive and honest review, Dr. Dray! I think Drunk Elephant is too overpriced and over-hyped brand and I`m glad there are still people on the internet who have some integrity and critical thinking!
You just cant afford it lol
@@s.h.6300 Yeah, sure. That must be it.. smh
Can you do some baby products reviews/recommendations? After watching your videos I have paid more attention to the product list and to my surprised I noticed that even very well established brands for babies a few months old , have perfume in them.
I just found you and have been stuck in a loop watching ALL your videos. I'm so so happy I found you. Honest. Trustworthy. Reviews. Thank you.
Christmas came early! Thanks for doing this review Dr Dray!
I constantly look out for as much information in relation to how an ingredient works and I am glad I have found another platform that provides great review and explanation about active ingredients, review of products containing them and how they could work.
I would really love to see you try the Olay total effects (fragrance free). It seems to have some great ingredients like niacinamide and green tea.
Alice I really love olay products, they are more reasonable than other brands and have great ingrediants.
I agree. Would love a review on fragrance free total effects cream and serum.
I agree Olay is great! Been using forever and I’m 60 . Just today someone at my dance class insisted I couldn’t be older then 40😉
Yed best of olay products
I love the olay stuff, made my skin so gloooowy and healthy looking. But not within my budget atm. Just wish they left out the fragrance from their luminous line too.
Best thorough review I’ve seen. So glad I didn’t spend the money on the marula oil - for that price it needs to be life changing.
Morning doc! Hope the coffee is swell and the day is bright today!!☀️🌄☕
The protini cream honestly saved my skin, pricey yes but I found it to be very worth it
ever since I started using it I can't live without it! my skin just isn't the same when I don't use it, even when I try to replace it nothing works as good
arianna hyatt totally agree, I’ve always suffered from terrible dry skin especially on my cheeks and it seriously rescued my skin. Haven’t had any issues since I started using the cream
I agree. It is the amazing.
Thank you so much. My sensitive skin became very inflamed with some of these products. Now
I understand why.
sorry to hear that happened 😫
I would love her to review the SkinMedica TNS Serum, she would save people so much money
Dr. Dray doesn't recommend using serums at all.
Dray! ♥

Very very very helpful. For average consumers looking for new skin care products, we don’t necessarily know all what will happen with these products. Considering the high prices of drunk elephant, hearing a logical review from a dermatologist is extremely helpful. Thank you for saving me from spending so much money on these products

Very disappointed in the TLC Framboos info. I thought I was getting a good Night Serum for what it's advertised to do. So basically 1% salicylic acid for $90 30ml., that's outrageous.

I think Clinique has single use vitamin c can you please review it? :)
I have been curious of drunk elephant thank you for clearing up a few of my thoughts on this product

I honestly give you so much credit for reviewing the products honestly and completely. You didn’t leave anything out and you have saved me so much money. I can tell that you are such a dedicated dermatologist and I feel like I’ve learned so much about skincare just from watching your videos!
A nicely balanced review! Thank you for spending all that money!

However, this is the only DE product I will buy- I love it though!
yeah i enjoyed using it

Yes been waiting for this video for so long 🥳
The DE vitamin C serum actually worked really well for me. Within about 2 weeks I saw a lot of clearing/fading of my mild melasma on my face. they did slightly change the formula around the time this video was uploaded. I don't really use any of the other products, but the C Firma I love.

Wow so informative about not using acids on the neck. I tried Vitamin C on my neck in my 20’s and got a rash that lasted for months.
sorry to hear that happened to you 😫
I love how informative and honest you are!
Question~
Is using 100% pure unrefined Shea butter as a moisturizer at night a good idea?
GOSH ITS GABE she already basically answered this. You really want something that isn’t one note like shea but instead has humectants, emollients, and occlusives.
How about older women, what ingredients should they look for? Which face cream would you suggest for shaggy skin?
Katelyn Jacobi thanks so much I’m a nursing student I graduate in May and this was really helpful as well
@@lornabrooks4484 Glad to help! Good luck with your final classes!
@@hammypie yeah, rashes and yeast infections can happen anywhere on the body. Even just wiping or bathing once a week would help keep that at bay.
timestamps ❤ thank you
