I used Olaplex as part of a consistent routine. In editing the video, I realized the Henna part may be a little confusing. I started using Henna for the first time in 2011 when I first went natural not realizing it was having undesirable results on my hair. Using Olaplex as part of a consistent routine helped reveal the full potential of my natural hair.

Love your story...thanks for sharing Why did you not use olaplex during the 30 day detox? $240 can be the cost of one visit to a natural hair stylist so it's definitely olaplex appears to be worth it

Yes ma'am every since I learned about olaplex from my younger daughter I have been hooked didn't realize it was so mainstream with the natural hair I just knew how well it worked on my bonds my hair feels amazing after this treatment and yes it is like a $200 hair treatment but if you design your treatments weekly or biweekly you can stretch your products 🙂 it's worth it
My hair was completely damaged I cut over 6 in off even with healthy natural unprocessed new growth this olaplex keeps my hair completely in check ✅

I've been using the entire line for 2 almost 3 months now and only once a month. Girl let me tell you how happy I am with my hair. I was wearing wigs off and on for 1 year and I retained a lot of length. However, my ends looked bad and my hair looked rough and dry. After 2 months of using Olaplex, my hair is super soft now, silkier, and smoother, and my blowouts look so good almost close to a flatiron. When I silk press, my hair looks so smooth and silky and last for almost a month. When I mix the conditioner with the mask my knots just easily come out and it takes me like 12 mins to detangle. My hair is 4a4b and midback length. Olaplex is definitely a holy grail for me. My hair has never looked better!

Thanks for sharing. This is confirmation for me. My hair is fine and straighten, braid and color my natural hair. I've been using the entire system for 3 weeks. The first week it was everything, but each week since it seems to get drier. I am going to switch to once a month. I love strength and would like to continue using it.

Thank you for this long term review. No 3 IS really the only product anyone needs. Its the most effective treatment and has the highest bis-amino-tech (12.5%) for consumers. No2 has the same ingredients but the bis-amino- is 15% so they are essentially the same thing. If you do it at home yourself that brings down the cost, PLUS you can control how long you keep it in for. No0 is literally No1 mixed with water - it's a nice to have but if its not in your budget currently then don't feel bad you don't have it x

I heard about this!! That Olaplex no. 3 and no. 0 together are to replicate the salon version, 1 and 2 but are not as concentrated.
On its own, no. 3 is really effective, but I have to say, together they do make a difference.

Hello beautiful lady. Olaplex 0 is to be applied to dry clean hair, not on top of gels and other products, then Olaplex 3. You might get different results. I shampoo my hair the day before with a different shampoo, I use no conditioner, just plait it up and allow to dry, the next day I us NO. 0 on dry clean hair followed by No 3, it works perfectly.

Hello...Thank you for sharing. I know of several videos of blk women having issues with henna. NOTE: You must ALWAYS deep condition after using henna---I always had. Yet, I too had "crispy" dry ends and such the 2nd and 3rd times I use henna. I researched and found a Indian woman who said if your hair is dry/crunchy after using henna, you are not rinsing it out good enough. I took her at face value.
I used my quality ground all natural powder henna again and RINSED...A LOT. Bucket of water rinses to start. Conditioner and rinse many times again. Then I do a few co-washes with a blk natural hair co-wash product. By co-wash time, my head is in the kitchen sink (lol) and I can watch the rinse water turn clearer and clearer.
You will learn to "feel" a texture difference and "know" that you got it out. Finally, most times I finish with an apple vinegar super quick rinse which "locks" the henna color in. (Rinse water may be almost clear at this point. The ACV rinse also makes any "pop" in the henna color last much longer). And be sure to focus on rinsing those ends! The ends HOLD the henna running out from the rest of your hair. Again, follow up with your choice of deep moisture focused conditioner after every henna. (ie a Moisture conditioner NOT a protein or "strength building" conditioner. Henna is protein already...don't double up)
Results: I now have SOFT, Healthy, STRONG hair after every henna/herbal treatment. my ends are strong. And I have increasing length. Very Happy!
(PS I use olaplex after my relaxers...love it. Using No 1 and 2)

Thank you for this video. It is very informative!! I literally just bought my first bottle of No. 3 today and was looking for videos on how it was used and if there were any issues. Your video was the most relatable. I plan to make this part of my routine. I have natural hair (stopped relaxing in 2017) and was looking for something to strengthen my hair. I follow the simplified routine from Black Girl Curls but continued to deep condition. I will probably skip that step now that I have No. 3. You hair looks great!!!

Great information! Thank you. I’ve wanted to try Olaplex for a while now. I had the opposite experience with Henna. It has been a complete game changer for my hair. Softer, stronger, more defined curls, and massive tangling and split ends are minimal. Thats the only reason I have put Olaplex on the back-burner, but I plan on trying it this year. Thank you for the video!

If you’re a Sephora rewards member you can get a discount on olaplex during their VIB sales which are around the start and end of the year. Also the larger #3 bottle is only available at the holiday time towards the end of the year so it’s best to buy a few when you can to use for later. Also there’s a holiday kit that’s $60 and has 3,4,5,7 which is a good value. If it’s in stock during the VIB holiday sale it’s an even better price.

I actually have already had Olaplex used on my hair for the first time last year when I went to a salon and got my hair colored and straightened and it must’ve done wonders because my hair held up beautifully (up until it didn’t only because I slacked on taking care of my hair some months after). I can’t wait to use it on myself and see my results which will definitely be soon! Henna and cassia will only attach on the outside of the hair strand. It's proteins that kling to the outside of the stand and this can give protection and stability but it also can cause breakage if used too often. The hair will be less flexible and thicker. This can be beneficial for some hair types but can cause problems for others. Olaplex is working inside the cortex and give more flexibility and enhance the ability to hold moisture. This are some different pair of shoes. Maybe you can also try tge curlsmith rehab Salve. You get much more for your money there. It's working differently but maybe it gives you the results you want anyway.

Olaplex has been a literal gamechanger for me. Ever since I started using it, my braids actually swing and move, and don't dry into a weird shape. That has NEVER happened, not once in the seven YEARS since I went natural, and I had just assumed the stiffness was normal for my texture of natural hair.
Their shampoo and conditioner is SO nice too. It smells so good, is gentle on my hair and feels AMAZING. I cowash with regular conditioner (shea moisture/TGIN etc.) throughout the week, but Wash Day has been olaplex so far.

@@cilcy849 As for me, my stylist used #1 & 2 on me first and I saw the difference immediately. Then I bought #3 from her and have not stopped since. I basically use it in btwn visits since I only see her once a month. I believe she has used #8 (the new moisture mask) on me as well & that also felt amazing. But yeah I never knew thick 4c hair could swing until now. Even as a child my hair never “swung”. Also my hair is the longest it’s ever been & I’m 37. So this product has been life changing.

Wait! No way!!! This motivates me to continue using Olaplex. I only use the mask like once a month or less, but that doesn't do a lot. I've just bought more of their line and I am so excited! My hair has not been drying nice for years and I always blame me chemically straightening and heat styling it. I stopped chemical straightening ,but just dyed my hair blonde so it looks like crap again.. This is all my fault but I just want to be one of those people with shiny soft blonde curls and waves. I hope this does it for me!

I love Olaplax. Just a suggestion you should use a clarifying shampoo and not a moisturizing shampoo to clean the hair before using No. 3. Moisturizing shampoos hamper the effectiveness of Olaplax because of the layers of oils within the moisturizing shampoos contain. I use a sulfate free shampoo (Design Essentials have a couple) and I see the difference immediately. Great video!!

I’ve used olaplex 3 for years. I’ve also had the
1&2 standalone salon treatment done a few times. At the time my hair was over processed from bleaching & hair color. I noticed my natural hair pattern come back to life when I used it. It helped keep my hair in a strong state until I grew it out and cut off the damaged ends. Now my hair is healthy so I don’t use olaplex anymore. I still have 3 and might use it when I feel I need it since damage can still be done from brushing, hairstyles, UV damage, heat damage.

I shampoo my hair first then let the hair dry slightly then go in with number 2. We can buy the salon sizes of 1 and 2 over here but virgin hair doesn't really require no 1. I am not putting that expensive product over gel and leave in haha!! I always follow up olaplex with a super rich moisturizing treatment or conditioner.

I would not suggest replacing Olaplex with K18. They do two completely different things. K18 goes to the deepest part of the hair to the polypeptide chains to mimic them and strengthen the hair from deep within. Plus you have to clarify your hair then add k18 and not use conditioner or even deep conditioner your hair since K18 is a leave-in product. Olaplex repairs the bonds in your hair connecting them back and locking them to prevent damage to the hair. K18 is not a bond builder Olaplex is they are nowhere close to being the same or a replacement for the other. I've used both products I tried k18 first for a few weeks before olaplex because olaplex can block k18 from getting into the hair since it does not go as deep into the hair as k18. I have bleached hair and I stopped using K18 after week 3 because having to clarify my hair every week to use it made my hair drier and more brittle since I couldn't condition or deep condition my hair after us and leave-in conditioners weren't enough. I started olaplex after I stopped K18 and it fixed my ends that got worse after all the caifying I needed to do for k18 and that was after my first use of olaplex. Olaplex is a game-changer and k18 is good too based on how damaged your hair is.

    • @cfoster6804
      @cfoster6804 2 года назад

@@jamaycey838 I have been all in the face of the people at K18 asking all kinds of questions, stalked their IG, read their newsletters, just watched a Q&A with their head product educator... I'm VERY familiar with it. I did not receive the results from Olaplex that I do with K18. I even had a stylist do the stand alone Olaplex treatment. K18 says they do exactly what Olaplex does and then some. They never said Olaplex does anything different than them. If you are using K18 there really is no need for both that's just overkill. Your hair can only absorb so much. You do NOT need to clarify with each wash before using K18, only the first wash and really not even that if you're not using a shampoo that leaves a heavy coating. The company has said this to people many times. I don't even use a clarifier at all. I use Color Wow shampoo. It's sulfate free and not a clarifier but it also doesn't leave any coating on the hair to block the treatment but it's not drying. You absolutely can use a conditioner/DC after the 4 minutes is up you can do whatever. Again, K18 states this in their Q&A and their newsletters. Just rinse the hair and DC as usual. Now this does make it less convenient if you choose to condition after but the option is there. It would really benefit the company to update their instructions to include an official modified version of the instructions for people with dry hair instead of suggesting it to each person as they complain about it. That is a flaw the company has.

I believe it bc I'm going thru this experience now ....multiple fairy knots on a single strand of hair and it's my entire head.😔 Pep look at me funny when I say it was the clay, but noticed immediately after treatment and never had fairly knots before. I'd used clay treatment before, but this last time changed my texture from really to super coily (not sure if clay was old; no expiration date on pkg or didn't like rosemary oil). After growing midback length hair, I'll have to cut it off to remove fairy knots which have caused major breakage from catching on other strands. My fear is... did the clay totally change the texture of my hair and knots will reoccur with growth? So this info on #3 gives me hope.
