My daughter said this is her "cottage core dreamhouse". So perfectly placed on the river. Love the old style with modern amenities. Perfect garden space for a retiree.

This is an absolute gem Steve, the village is beautiful, Castinheira de pera is just down the road, we have filmed the river beaches there (there's also some hidden ones too 😉) and Portugal is a great place to live.
You need to be near water in the summer, here you have a free swimming pool at the end of the garden 😍

I was hoping you'd say more about the aqueduct running by the house. Where does it come from and where does it go?
That's a very cool feature to have so near the home, and with a footbridge running with it. Sweet.
It comes from the mountain and was the water supply for the village before mains water, it's a truly remarkable system and I only realised its stunning beauty watching back this vlog.
I get a bit of social anxiety when I meet new people I'll share with you and I miss great parts of my journey because of it, my sincerest apologies amigo

Wow: along and with access to a clear river, overlooking an aqueduct, steps to the public picnicking area, and the post office for bill-paying is nearby, too. This is a well-loved and well-purposed property. The finishes were done well, so it's move-in ready. You just unpack your things and begin living your best life! You can well imagine this home cozy in winter and very cooling in the summer. Did you just very recently film this one, Nick? The beautiful sunny day is an amazing advert for THIS house in Portugal in the winter. No issue here with dampness then? I love this one 😍.
We filmed it this week Ruth! The house has been empty a while and no heating on and we've had one heck of a lot of rain so it's testament to the quality of the property.

@@destino2portugal It's a beauty. It's so special that i'm not bothered that there aren't more in-village amenities. (It'd be a plus if this village gets bus service to town.) Tho 🤔... i can imagine the area just inside the property's exterior wall with little tables with chairs where coffees and continental breakfast might be enjoyed... the area behind the house facing the river is where afternoon tea is on fine days, rum & coke on summer evenings... or vice versa to follow the path of the sun. And baked goods would seem to beg to regularly march forth from the bread oven! We could create some of our own amenities, eh? This place is so wonderful.
Dunno how I stumbled onto this channel, but what a great property review. The agent is clearly an efficient salesman, yet profoundly honest and knowledgeable. And the guy behind the camera is honest, questioning, and fair.
Been in SE Asia for 20 years in a tropical paradise, but Portugal looks very special.

It is really nice. Espacially the garden next to the river is awesome. I like that it is all on different levels.....But getting to this house by car doesn´t seem quite easy. (When he sais: "You can drive there with your car!", he probably speaks of a small car without exterior mirrors🙂)

My Husband and I spent 10 months in Portugal and travel all around and found out that was not for us. The Villages are beautiful and food is good but when it comes to Health care be careful, some places are faraway from Hospitals and quality of hospitals are not good either. I will go back to visit but not to live. Do your home work and stay there for a while before making a big decision.
