Great content and beautiful house! Im Thai and was born and raised a bit in Esan (Northeastern part of Thailand) and moved to Bangkok with my family. Living in the city can be great at first since everything is pretty much available for you but the downside of it is the chaos and commotion from the city. I also miss when im able to look as far as i can and its still my family's property and the freedom you get from it. Now i graduated from college and one of the main things i currently want is to go back and farm on my property and keep improving it. Keep producing quality contents😁👍👍
Loved this video. We are moving to Thailand this September. I loved that you showed the prices of things in the beginning of the video. A cup of coffee here is $6.00 Tomatoes are $9.00 a kilo I am so sick of it. I can't wait to see how your land progresses. The house is beautiful. Good luck with it all. To be young again and have dreams. Good on ya
Congrats with the move here Kris! I’m happy for you. I definitely think that the balance of the east in comparison to the west holds far greater appeal than it used to. For me the list of things that used to be great about living in the Uk has gotten smaller and smaller. The only good thing about the Uk now (in my opinion) is the ability to earn, and even that is now not so appealing because of the huge hike in the cost of living.
Thailand can be a beautiful place. Petty theft is rampant out here, even to other Thais. I recently sold most of my land(8 yrs holding)Fed up with constant theft. The fence may work for awhile. But, come dry season and you having all the ponds for irrigation. I can for see a section “falling over” or being cut. Some times a good yelling match helps. I personally keep large dogs, 40-60kg up. The locals are afraid of my dogs, which in return keeps them off my land by my house. Best of luck on your adventure.
Just wait until the give your dogs some bad food, then you have no more dogs, we keep our dogs in garden. All people here in our Isaan area are nice. lived here many years and no problem with the Thais
I paid 30,000 THB for a pond of 1 Rai size about 7m deep on my wife’s parents land. This has been a great investment better crops and their own fish pond. 30,000 baht 4 days and a big Macro. You’d pay that just for delivering the digger. Well done love the videos. If I were 20 years younger I’d do the same. Best wishes.
Nice house you have there . Retaining walls : L shaped stone and concrete with alot of rebar . Or long hardwood poles ( beter burn the outer layer to prevent rot in the wet soil ) with thick wooden planks .

Very informative. I am afraid I am a lazy sod, I will just stay in a hotel everytime I come. Also heat tires me out and mosquitoes are my biggest enemy
Yes, mosquitos! I was lokking at all those lovely ponds, thinking that they're running a mozzie ranch! But if they can get fish to live in the pond, that might keep them down a bit. Just need to make sure that they're local fish and not end up invasive.
Did something similar. Did they compact the soil under your house? And water it as they were layering the dirt on? We were told this is important to prevent settling while building atop fill. This was a different country, but I imagine it's the same idea, but possiblly not.
Probably not very deep for a water well and irritation. Also was thing about your ponds. Use solar lights on floats to attract the bugs away from you house .And feed your fish for free. Thanks

We'll be moving to Thailand in the next 3 or 4 years, I really fancy the type of off grid living you have gone for in the aura areas surrounding Phitsanulok or Lampang whilst my wife would like more of a beach villa in Hua Hin/Prachuap.
I don’t have cow problems but my dog ( with proper shots & tick medication) is kept within the wall around the house & lawn. Nice set up. Like the irrigation/canal set up. Good to have plenty of water for crops during the drier months, would definitely get some trees up to shade over the house. They can also act as a bit of a wind break from the monsoon winds cutting across the land. Nice looking house.

Just stumbled across your channel Ben. Great to see what you're doing. I moved here from the UK nearly 4 years and have built a home in the rural north east and now building 350sqm of farm buildings next to the house
Unfortunately, we have neighbors like you. No respect for others property. The wall and fence combination was expensive, but well worth the investment. Enjoy your videos very much!
Just found your channel and just subscribed great plot you’ve got there look forward to seeing more of you ,I’m now in the process of looking to build we have land in chakkarat Nakhon Rattisima
Great idea to do agriculture. I think, it's really a good way to support yourself, not only in Thailand but many countries, as long as you get the land at a good price. I guess it's land of your wife's family. What comes to my mind, because of the heat: Traditionally, the Thais build airy wooden houses, shaded by trees? Have you considered that?
The 12 rai for $18,000 was a bargain. I am interested to see what your solar panel system will be regarding the number of panels; battery storage and the cost of the system (components and labour).
12 panels. I can’t remember the storage capacity of the batteries, inverter, diesel generator as backup (connected to the batteries for automatic switch on if needed). Cost was 460,000 inc installation etc. the guy also threw in a 5 camera CCTV system 😂
@@LifeinThailand777 I did not see a vlog on the installation of the solar system and its capacity and price. solar is the long term way to go in Thailand. What make of diesel generator did you buy? Most generators seem to be 6000 watt petrol?
First time here. As per your extremely polite request, I've subscribed. Would love info on the logistics of land purchase, i.e. legal side, rights of ownership as a foreigner, and what you would advise and do differently if you had to do it again. Let the best of the past, be the worst of the future.
If you harvest his cow, he won't do it again. You give him a final warning, and that will be the end of it. We had some idiots butcher a cow on our land, and they made a huge mess leaving the guts and carcus behind after they finished. We put up a fence as well. I can't believe you only paid 1400 dollars to do all that excavation. I would like that but I don't think I can deal with all the solitude out in the middle of nowhere. Plant trees on the west and south side of your buildings. That way the morning sun will evaporate the morning dew to prevent mold and the trees will keep the heat down in the afternoon and evening. Mangoes are great shade, grow tall and provide fruit. It's a win win all around.
Got a question ❓ I also live in Thailand and enjoy your video. I have a pond and it's color is brown how did you get your beautiful pond green. Thank you for any help
We used dried cow shit and hay. Must be very dry cow shit, and it’s sandwiched together with the hay in layers. We put this ‘sandwich’ in a bamboo basket and secure it underneath the water, on the edge of the pond. This process creates natural plankton and will clear your pond. We dug the pond in august 2021, and it took about 1.5 years to go from brown to green.

what are you going to use to stock the pond? cows love bbq
Thanks 🙏
Best of luck with your own build too Kevin
WOW..are there any other pieces land for sle
Great idea to do agriculture. I think, it's really a good way to support yourself, not only in Thailand but many countries, as long as you get the land at a good price. I guess it's land of your wife's family.
What comes to my mind, because of the heat: Traditionally, the Thais build airy wooden houses, shaded by trees? Have you considered that?
Yes we will plant trees all around the outside of the wall, once the house build is finished 👍👍👍
Excellent video mate. Were moving next week to start a small farm also! Good to see what others are doing. Gives us ideas 😁 can't wait now!
Thanks 🙏🙏
To dig a pond here in Australia like that would cost $50,000
Can everyone around swim ok? Waterlilies? Shade Trees even Bamboo for shade or sell.
First time here. As per your extremely polite request, I've subscribed. Would love info on the logistics of land purchase, i.e. legal side, rights of ownership as a foreigner, and what you would advise and do differently if you had to do it again. Let the best of the past, be the worst of the future.
I subscribed cause you ask😆, but you're awesome for what you're doing OVER there ALSO, Good LUCK in everything you DO!
😂😂👍👍
Love Thailand ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice development. Looks fantastic. Our air quality was crap for 2 months in Pattaya this year. How's it been up where you are ?
Same here. Pretty awful, although I don’t think half as bad as further north around Chiang Mai etc. I think I’ll buy an air purifier next year 😅
Enjoy following your progress, everything looking great. Did the land come with a chanote?
Yes full chanote, red stamp. But no electricity or water 🙏
Please explain how you bought this land and how you own it, thank you.
My wife is originally from Thailand. We put the deeds in her name 👍
No retaining wall for the driveway? The rain going to wash it away.
Best of Luck 🍀✨🤞
Great video. What was the cost of your house? Just the house without the land. Thank you for sharing.
The house build was 3.3 million baht (£72,000)
@@LifeinThailand777 That's a fantastic price for the mansion you got there :)
@@LifeinThailand777 . Thank you for the help. Did the same thing not much difference?
Nice video! I've also bought land and built a home we're in sakhon nakhon.
Mega house and mega project mate! Are you going to use all the land for farming you think? Is your lass a farmer? 😎
We’re not sure yet TBH. We plan to grow most things for our own consumption, then we’ll see what we can do commercially 👍
Lovely place 😍
