Escape pods in SF are a pet peeve of mine. Space is huge and that pod isn't going to get you anywhere. You're far better off taking the volume and mass of that pod and devoting it to damage control, repair equipment, spare parts and fabrication equipment. At some point you were on a perfectly functional spacecraft with redundant fail safes to keep you alive. Your best chance is to save that ship and not fling yourself out into the void hoping someone goes looking for you. Although in all fairness if the pod has Wi-Fi and you've liked subscribed and set notifications to all so you never miss a stream at least then you wouldn't be bored in that pod.
I mean. The escape pod is supposed to be the last resort anyway, not having one guarantees death if all of the previous systems up to the escape pod fails. At least a pod with a working antenna and a way to keep its batteries topped up would give you somewhat of a chance for survival if people know where you were going to and from.
By that logic we also shouldn’t put lifeboats on big ships. The point of escape pods, just as with lifeboats or -rafts is to survive long enough to be rescued, as is also the point of the game. Of course you’re not going anywhere in a tiny escape pod or lifeboat, but better survive on that than go down with a sinking ship or exploding spaceship.
@@ROTRUY but surviving in outer space is not the same as being in a lifeboat/raft on the ocean on a planet with breathable air. Space is vast, possibly infinite. how long will it take someone to find a person drifting in space in a pod. Pods are good for getting a person planetside.
I agree considering the vastness of space. Fixing the ship would be a better option. Unless the pod is getting you to a nearby planet within a couple of days. Oxygen is important. livable atmosphere and planet is important. look at how big spaceships are and they're just leaving earth and going no farther than the moon.
We can see water on the mars from the earth and you think we wouldn't be able to detect emergency pads knowing the location of ships and possible trajectories it could fly? It's not a rocket, you'll be drifting in space waiting for rescue after sending an emergency signal.
Don't forget the Death Star plans before launch. 😁
It it possible to click the master warning and master caution buttons to silence the alarm? I only ask because in aircraft you normally can.
Yes it is. That's how you stop the alarms once you've fixed the problem.

I'm glad you're trying out this game. I would not want to be in this situation. It would be horrifying. Is that a can of Fix-a-flat? We found Wilson! Hey, Wilson did you bring any granola bars? Is Jerry coming to save us? I was wondering if the astronaut had a flashlight. The one-time Raptor leaves the air filter. This game reminds me of 60 sec. Why aren't there already things in the escape pod? Why weren't there fire extinguishers on the ship or in the pod?
