Try cooking it on low pressure. I have never tried it with cake mix, but it works with muffin mix.For muffins you do it on low pressure for twice the time of the shortest baking time.
Thank you! Just what I was looking for! Found Duncan HInes cake mix on sale., then my oven stopped working. Using my Instant Pot with a cake function. I'll use the spring form pan with all of the batter, then slice it into two layers when it's done. Thanks for the frosting recipe also!
I'm thinking of using the Instapot because it's too hot to fire up the oven this summer. In past years, I did midnight baking. This year even midnight is still too hot to run the oven. I am going to try it. Hope it works.
