Can You Beat Terraria 1.4.4 Using Boomerangs Only?

- In this video I try to beat Terraria using boomerangs only! The rules are that I can't kill enemies unless I have a boomerang equipped and also accidental hits will not count which means that if I'm chopping down a tree and I hit a slime with my axe that would be considered as an accidental hit.
With the new and recent 1.4.4 update for Terraria with the addition of a brand new boomerang and others being reworked, I've decided to revisit a challenge that I've done in the past. Can I beat Terraria using boomerangs only? Hope you all enjoy.

I beat all 3 mechanical bosses with the bananarangs during my last master mode run and I thought you’d do that too but I completely forgot about the flying knife. That would have made the destroyer so much easier…
Bananarangs are still hard af to get tho right
@@thecrabhex5140 not so much anymore. It was changed so that once you get one it’s the full bunch and since it’s now one item you can reforge it to legendary

@@thecrabhex5140 indeed. And I think it’s one of the best improvements to a melee weapon made in the history of the game. Even in late hardmode I was still using them

Anything you throw is a boomerang
Your inventory management makes me so uncomfortable, but you inspire me to try using mounts in my fights more often
That golem grind seemed annoying... i had a similar issue tho. On zenith seed, with the no traps modifiers, it felt that the binoculars would be a massive advantage, especially once i had my grand design and could turn wires on whilst using the binoculars. Over 100 Eye of Cthulu's later, and i have my binoculars.
i had to kill duke like 30 times for razorblade typhoon just the other day, was dropping everything but. bubble gun shredded him though so it wasn't too hard
wow good thing the boomerang subclass of weapons has a standard progression loop or this would actually be a challenge!
Either it's close for the content or a callback to the beginning

There's a mod that adds zenith style crafting trees for several weapon styles, and I remember also having a really frustrating time farming spore bats for the boomerang when I did a run with that.
Me: necro isn't that impressive

I can understand wanting the flamarang for the insane. Add damage but wouldn’t the trimerang be close behind since it’s 21 but with 3 projectiles so in totals it’s really 63 damage when all throws hit

The light disks pissed me off so much, I crafted 5 of them to get its effect, and then a few days later the game updated and I lost them, by then I had reached the point of moving on but still
I actually made the trimarang (triple boomerang or whatever) in my melee only playthrough and it was decent against eoc for me

It's funny, I didn't know the shroomerang was a thing. And got it as my first enemy drop in my melee playthrough. From the first enemy I killed. One of the rare moments rng liked me
Not that rare he just got unlucky sometimes I just want to got through a mushroom biome because my hellevator is always messed up (you have to go left and right cause I'm impatient) And I get it sometimes even 2 of them unintentionally

It's a preety good sub-class i usualy use a handfull of boomerangs in my melee playtroughs. Honestly give it a try

Could have used flasks from the witch doctor for extra damage
But that requires killing queen bee, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him kill Bee 😅

I am doing a melee playthrough right now.
The Thorn chakram was my best friend up until I got the Flamarang, and then the Night's Edge (which is COMPLETELY overpowered). Also, the Trimarang is actually situationally better than the thorn chakram.

Shroomerang is exclusive to spore bats. You can’t find it in chests

i dont consider the flying knife to be a boomerang because it doesnt go out then return in a straight line while flamarang and trimarang do
The terraria wiki says it uses the same code as boomerangs so its classified as a boomerang weapon
if you wanna see real boomerang playthrough I suggest watching phantasm

shroomrang i got 2 in like a mater of 20 sceonds
IMO, ur using the wrong beetle set. While 45% DR is insane, you need to NOT get hit to SURVIVE more hits. I find if i'm able to just avoid getting hit, the damage boost from the other set is actually insane, since if you get hit repeatedly with shell it doesnt really build up much defense but you'll pretty much always get the damage buff
Did you not see his attempts at all the bosses? Or any of his other videos? Hes complete garbage at dodging. He needs all the help he can get to survive

Were you speeding up the boss fights? it didn't look like it but the flying knife does not do that much damage to the destroyer.

zealous is a modifier i never take bc it sounds like zesty and i dont swing that way
what dungeon wall is present effects what mobs spawn, which is why you couldnt find a palladin

No offense, but I don't think the Flying Knife is a boomerang, you can't control a boomerang after it's thrown and you can control the flying knife.
The video is still good though.
I think a boomerang is anything that does melee damage and you throw that comes back to you
@@char5379 Throw and come back to you. Not throw, control in the air, kill an entire boss, and then it comes back to you.
