- Full concert performance of The Last Supper at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on
19th November 2011
Steve: "This performance was the culmination of a tour that took over eighteen months to arrange and execute. To say I'll never forget it would be an understatement because I've never experienced such highs, lows and just sheer bewilderment, such a pressure of responsibility to do it right.
This last show was truly special which I tried to say at the end but I don't think there are words to describe what we've all been through.
Maybe the songs say it all.
I know the smiles, the tears, the hugs, the warmth that people gave me does.
A hundred thousand tons of love to you all.
Steve Igs"

@@SteveIgnorantOfficial You're welcome :)
"no man surely Mother Earth first". 😉 "Only kidding any CRASS track will do loved them since 82. ✌️♥️🏴
Done just ruined it JLB
All the lyrics are ingrained in my brain after nearly 40years, this is still as relevant if not more so today. As a 16 old lad on the dole in the 80s Crass were so empowering when everything seemed so hopeless, i wrote them a letter to thank them and they replied by sending me a personal letter with lots of gifts, badges, posters etc, you wont see much of that these days. This band made me a better person. Love and respect to you Steve
Thanks Tony for your kind words. Yes, in those days we didn't had facebook etc and we used to spent evenings writing letters to people.
Singles for 45p trrue inspiration to disaffectedof youth of the 70.s but big thanx too .to john peel where i first heard crass.and i learnt the true meaning as crass described bubble gum rock .lydon strummer an such like . crass.ur words are as relevent now as then .big thanx to u .
Couldn’t have said it better!! I bounced both of my boys on my knee and sang them Big A Little A. I got chills and tears watching this. So important and so beautiful. Steve’s voice!!!!!!!
I miss that camaraderie from any at all. I’m so happy to see new posts here!!! 💖
It'd all a lot of shit? Ain't it
Loved "CRASS" since the early early 80's!! I'm 55 now!! And "CRASS" is still.. In my blood!!!! Cheers to you all!!!!
Can’t beat a bit of crass, even at 60 , my ears still tune into the alternative soundscape and I still love it
Kudos to the drummer. That was some tight hardcore drumming right there.
I was never a punk, but I took some acid one day and a friend gave me Best Before and Stations of the Crass to listen to on my walkman. I was entranced and Crass became injected into my consciousness.
Yes, Spike T Smith is a brilliant drummer
God damn. That drummer works his ass off!!!!!
That was just awesome. I was blown away by Carol as she is really singing 2 x singers parts without tripping over at all. Astounding all round.
Yes, she is a great singer and rehearsed long hours to get it just right.
we need crass now in 2022 come on steve bring us up to date but keep the old crass going if it makes sense
Yes, sadly the songs are as relevant today as when they were then. It is one of the reasons why I'm doing the IGNORANT TOUR.
This band you have is EPIC. Drummer, Bass, Guitar, and Carol are all EXCELLENT. Hope you're keeping the same group. This is absolutely AMAZING. SUCH a GREAT performance from each member. 💣💥🔥
Cass changed my life forever...The Ruts are still a constant in my playlists and to hear you guys do it.. made my day!! Been watching this for 2 days solid now and still not tired of it. Thanks Steve and Co for helping me to survive a fucked up South Africa back in the day!!!! this is brilliant! and you did Securicor... 😁
Thank you Jon-Pat, really appreciate your kind comments. The Ruts are definitely a favourite of mine too.
From belfast here .crass and ruts rocked
La mejor banda desde que yo era joven ahora tengo 45 años y sigue siendo de lo mejor
I never go anywhere (by choice). But if the Ignorant Tour came to America, I'd have to go.
Great to see crowds reaction, wish i was there
Truly amazing x

We'll be touring again next year so maybe see you then.
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial Hi Steve - going to try as I see you are coming to Scotland - thanks for everything over the years - this was my teenage soundtrack in the mid 80s
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial looking forward to next year and yes vincent carol is ace
Bloody marvellous
Everyone working so hard, but fucking hell the drums are busy!
They are busy drum parts!!
@@SpikeTSmith there he is! ❤️😅
🤘😈🤘 still blasting
Some class venues around Liverpool, Eric's and Brady's gigs back in the day, you need to do a gig in Liverpool, remember travelling down to Swansea 81 or 82, old church hall, football hooligans travelled from Cardiff for the scraps, and the band played on 😀
Seen Crass at the Liverpool Warehouse in about 1982/83 ?? n yes id love to see IGS play again here
Got me through!!! Lived under thatcher, if you did you know what I mean, owe Crass so much!!
Yes, I know exactly what you mean.
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial l really need to say this; I really owe you so much, you’ve probably heard that a million times?
I am not being melodramatic, there were points in my early years where things never made sense!!
Living in a bed sit with fuck all money, watching the fat fucking yuppie bastards getting filthy rich off the backs of our misery, all set up with a thatcher agenda!!! It was you I played over and over again to literally get me through!!!
It was so hard back then, I honestly “owe you a living” peace and love always Gary
.
Weird is,.. the 80s are repeated. "The Iron Curtain" and "The Cold War" seems to be rebuild. Youth from today also will know how we felt in the 80s: Constant fear for nucleair-war. But sub-culture turned fear into power. Sub-culture gave us strength! If the homeless from today start to re-use abandoned buildings (Squat!), as they did in the 80s. Than it réally seems, time is repeating itself.
I’m in Detroit I’m 38 years old I was born in 83 and I wanna tell you all who are older than me. You had it right the whole time and I’m sorry. Am I a punk yes are the people today punk I grew up with, no
Depends on your definition of punk. Yes I'm older than you. I was at the Brixton academy for the gathering of the 5000 and I can offer you some words of advice. First comes family, next is community, then comes the nation. If these 3 things are destroyed then your only source of comfort and security comes from the government. If you rely on the government for your comfort and security then your liberty is gone and you are owned. The mantra of bands like this is cultural marxism. First to destroy the family then community and nation will fall like dominoes. These people are the system. If they were not a part of the system they would have been disappeared. Can you see it yet, or do you still want to be a punk?
Good to hear from you. There are a lot of good people out there, young & old, but it's sometimes hard to find them. Take care mate.
This is unbelievable
Snake!?
Boss?... No...
Are you ever going to get your unit together for another tour to please rebellious anarcho punks everywhere Steve. Brilliant work with this one.
I'll be touring with the Ignorant band in 2022
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial Hey Steve, any chance u cross The Channel and come over to olde Europe ? Perhaps a gig in Milan ? I will take my sosns with me, no doubts. Take care mate. Fuck war. Fuck sick capitalism.
Well done steve.. unbelievably this is better than crass.. unthinkable 😹🥃
awsome
Thanks Cas
Apart from Steve this only vaguely resembles Crass, really missing Andy Palmers unorthodox and unique guitar parts.
Andy was a one off.
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial Good man Steve, I hope life is treating you well.
Yeah Andy certainly was a one off and much kudos to him for retaining his originality and uniqueness throughout his work with Crass recordings and live. I enjoyed the night at the NFT Killing timethingy, by the way thanks for the beer that night.
Incredible fucking great
The best ever to do it. Tight show, well-rehearsed... problem is, most bands seems a bit obsolete compared to this. : )
Thanks for your support
Xx class
What's the song called after the band's little beer break? I can't remember.
Long live punk dots
❤️💣
Fucking brilliant x
Love to be fly on the wall in a Lemmy Steve convo

Is that eve? I don't remember the last pic I've seen!!
It's Carol Hodge but Eve and Penny join us at the end of the set.

Killer
Crass changed music and the world. I'm an American in the Midwest, I ordered the crass catalog of CD's in the mid 90's as a teen. I later read about them in English class in collage. It amazes me many people know so little about such a monumental band, and where many mod sounds come from...
Oh dude... this was beautiful. I wish I could had been there. Even if I was born in 1979 and was just a little kid when things were happening, Crass were a HUGE inspiration in my 20's and even nowadays. And, well, in the end this wasn't the last supper, but anarcho-punk owes YOU a living and those songs deserve to be played.
Thanks for uploading this.
Cheers from spain Steve.
Glad you enjoyed it J.
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial I gotta confess I almost cried a few times while watching it. One thing: why don't you copy/paste my other comment with the tracklist and post it with your own account so you can pin it?
CRASS was about love. All the anger, all the things that people thought were 'agressive', I mean...
All that came from a great sense of human, strong love, and from the frustration about all the things that would try to kill this love. Thank you Crass. Even if I don't agree with everything you said, at least you made me think for myself and make my own decisions. Peace.
Thank you for your kind words.
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial It's the least I can do, right? You made a change for the good for lots of people.
I need to get my shit together. I'm turning 51 this year and I'm already dead inside! He was 54 for this show. Man I need to exercise or some shit. How did I get so old?
I definitely had to train for it. Now 10 years later I have to train even harder to keep up my fitness level :) :)
.
I live my life as vegan
➜Organic&Vegan(NotRaw),
since the year 1990.
That's how I did it. :)
I cannot witness this performance without tears. It’s such a coherent representation of the energy it takes to defend a human being’s autonomy!
So tired of the "real punks" who think a band sold out if they play a venue that isn't a dive bar. EYEROLL
agreed. the only sellouts are those who change their message because a label tells them to
I would not be the critical thinker I am today had it not been for Steve, Penny, Gee, Eve, Pete, Phil and the others, they shaped my life, so glad Steve has brought this back for a new phone zombie, face fuck, insta wank generation who need it so much more than we ever did👍 "Big A Little A Bouncing B" 🖤
Nice.
Shame they sold out
Been a fan of CRASS from 1980 ( 13 years old ), had a punk band in ex Yugoslavia, sent to Crass our demo tape, but sound of it was bad even for their Bullshit records 😆. Got from Crass a lot of badges and stuff in a letters back days...Still wear them on punk gigs. Now, my daughter accompany me on punk gigs as well...and she listen to Crass as well 💪💪
In those days, I would do anything to see them live....still would, however I live in Serbia....
Come to belfast next sat steve ignorant limelight
you're really cool, cheers from a punk from neighbouring bulgaria
If punk were a Greek temple, Crass would be one of the columns
Crass would be the altar
Thanks for this. I was there, but got a bit overexcited before the gig and got very very drunk in the pub, so I was seeing double and can barely remember anything. Still, it was a bucket list gig for me, and that night I made some choices that changed the entire trajectory of my life. A night I can barely remember, but will never forget.
Haha !! Same here! ;)
I love the fact that CRASS their ideals and music outlived the government and media fucks that criticized them 40 years ago. Yep we grow up have families and kids and even grandkids but the idea of free thought and speech is still alive. XXXX AAAA!
Used to huddle around a mate’s tape recorder listening to Crass at school lunchtimes 1982-83. Re-discovered Crass and Steve through RUclips and I’ve got to say I appreciate the pure art in a way I didn’t as a kid. This performance is amazing .. Steve’s energy and commitment to the lyrics with every once of his mind and body wow.. band is tight and the female singer (Carol?) loses nothing!
The lyrics to Big A little a should be used in schools as a educational tool
Very much agree. Song ruined here though by the guitar on this version !
I feel like being first time on Crass show - the band which completely changed my life in 80s. But then we could not even see a single picture of them in Poland. And now I am sitting in the armchair, watch it and have gooseflesh. Great level of the show, absolutely fantastic. Thanks Steve, Penny and all the crew. I must also mention the girls, they are brillant!
So amazing. I can't believe you're matching the same energy and passion from 40 years ago. Everyone did an amazing job. Wish you guys good luck, from Puerto Rico.
Thank you
Gracias! I grew up listening to Crass, and this takes me back to those moments. Cheers from Colombia. Hope to se you soon in a South America tour :D
I hope so too!
I wasnt educated at school learn nothing at school
Been into crass for 45 year and i got to know the truths of the world and CONFLICT..DISCHARGE..SUBHUMANS
FACTS!!! TRUTH!..YOU KNOW!!
Awesome show. Thanks Steve for sharing this, greetings from Mexico
Thanks Steve. Greetings from Madrid, Spain. I Love CRASS. 💚🖤
Hello Alex, Greetings from England. All the best, Steve
Fucking brilliant your songs never age
Respect
Thanks Mark really appreciate your support.
I really wish society could progress enough to actually age some of these songs, no offense to you Steve - we need CRASS' music now more than ever.
punk might be dead, but us old punks are still alive and kicking! xx
Bought feeding if the 5000 when i was 13, 1979.. loved it than & now.. the way the music is played & put together is so far removed from not just the commercial mainstream but any other music style & that's the way it should be...that's why i love it.
Thanks Marcus for your kind words. It is my favourite album.
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial
The pleasure's all mine mate, & thank you.👍
I was present at this one and at many of the early shows, did a fanzine and organised a gig in high wycombe and met at dial house a few times, i feel like you have been with me all of my life, certainly changed the course of it, shed a few tears watching this, Thank you fella I'm the guy that took the shaved women /stations pics
Hello mate, good to hear from you.
The emotion that comes from it is difficult to translate to words. Crass, in my opinion, keeps the real punk rock attitude; song that comes from heart and push the brain to work in real life!
she is un-belieavble
This music has passed the tests of time and is still awesome. Steve Ignorant is great a performer and he is backed by a pretty damm good band. When I first heard Crass many years ago I was like what???? They changed my way of thinking about music.
I will always be grateful to Crass for lyrics that have powered me through to age 57 today. I had a flyer for a Crass gig that was supposed to happen in the Summer of 1983; they were scheduled to play with GBH in Los Angeles, CA. The gig was cancelled due to Crass being anarchists, and I heard their visas were revoked. My Sears steel-toe buckle-over boots with my homemade Crass stencils are still buried out at Bell Mountain, Apple Valley, CA. Many wanted to buy them when I took my punk "uniform" off---but I died "with my boots on," sort of. I'm pretty sure there are some rusty steel toes with no surrounding boot out there right now! Awesome show in Shepherd's Bush 2011---I was glued to the gig I had to wait for. Peace, cheers.
Thanks kelly
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial When Dave Lettermen was on the air, he had a skit called, "brushes with greatness;" thanks Steve for adding to my growing list of said quote. Steve, I hope you don't mind that I skipped the story about your music playing in my room(not physically) when I was having a rare bad trip on acid---those old films of bulldozers piling up bodies in black and white, right on my bedroom wall. Good times, good times, ha! Cheers Steve and seriously, thank you and to the other members one and all.
Fucking good punk. Pure revolutionary energy. Thank you Crass. Punk one time, punk forever. 🖤🧷
here I am 38 years later, thank you Crass you have been extremely important in my life, for a multitude of reasons.
Thank you for your kind words.
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial great thanks
Just watched this all the memories came flooding back I'm 56 now but watching that I was a 16 year old kid thanks for helping me relive those times as all government the same they can call it freedom but slavery the game hope you will tour again Steve 👍
Sadly missed this one but you clearly smashed it Steve! Loved Carol's vocals too. Crass was vocalising exactly how I felt as a young punk and still do now age 46.
Thanks Mayola. Yes, Carol is a brilliant singer.
I wish I was a part of that. That was magic.
Went to see crass in the early 80s. Stirling and Dunfermline, memories no one can take from me. ❤
Good job, Carol. That stuff is extremely hard to sing :)
Yes, very difficult to sing. Carol has a great voice
Still the best punkband ever
And that is putting down any other band. Just the facts. I really liked the crowd singing along to I Ain't Thick
Amazing, respect ! The godfathers of the DIYanarchopunk, inspired so many good bands. Always loved the gigs in the nineties from Schwarzeneggar & Stratford Mercanaries. Kroezel
Thanks for that
.
The 80s & 90s!!
Watched yet again and Carol doesn’t half fill some big boots, awesome vocals an attitude 👍
Yes, she did a brilliant job.
I missed the original Crass line up by a couple of years. This tour was fantastic for me. The Gizz/Spike combination is always going to be a winner - 2 first class masters of their instruments. Carol is a force of nature & truly amazing. You were good too Igs, obviously like!
What a fuckin amazing front man Mr Ignorant is.Superb gig, superb group.Keep blasting the tunes out.Would love to have been there this is a good second though
Thanks Terri for your kind words.
Pleasure is mine Sir
Epic. Amazing performance. Never got to see Crass but were they ever as good as this?
My dad saw them twice, and said they were the loudest band hes ever seen, and we've been to some of the UKs loudest reggae sound systems
Crass were on another level. Followed them everywhere
Play everywere and allover. Pass the message on
Sounds amazing. Tight band! Cheers from New York
Crass we’re one of the best bands to bring negativity & anger together to make positivity… I learned so much at the age of 13 from listening to Crass…Thanks Steve for putting me & many others on the right path…
Thanks for your kind words and your support.
Amazing performance excellent quality. I played the shit out of these records and it was great to hear this.
Bloody hell, an absolute emotional journey. The energy resonates 9 years later ❤️
Gave me goose bumps and misty eyes.
This music saved me, Crass is life.
Really? How did it save you?
Just wanna know
Carol was brilliant.
It still sounds fresh and relevant today
I love it great performance !!!
Thanks Anthony really appreciate it.
That rendition of Berkertex Bribe was extremely pleasing to my ears!
Punk is not dead!
May be well forked but definitely not dead!
Punk's not dead it just smells funny
Well that was fuckin emotional
Love Rival Tribal Revel Rebel!! Cheers from the USA, California 💋
The message is just like the music as well as the show after all these years. ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. ABSOLUTE TRUTH. ABSOLUTELY ENERGIZING. ABSOLUTELY EDUCATING. ABSOLUTELY INSPIRING. CRASS IS ABSOLUTE!!!!!!!
Thanx so much for posting this, Steve! The music you've created has helped me so many times since the first time I heard "Feeding of the 5000" when I was 14. Thank you for everything, and greetings from Texas!
Absolute Amazing show, Jeez!
Absolutely fantastic night. One of the most joyful gigs I've ever had the pleasure of attending. Ironic, considering the anger in the songs, but the whole night felt to me like a celebration.
Who is the blonde singer at 20-25 mins? She is sooo great.
Carol Hodge good isn't she
I was there, It was a fantastic last gig ! Thanks Steve ;)
crass, the best band ever
My respect to Steve Ignorant!Stay True and Authentic as you are!The Young Lady is great!Best wishes from fucking Germany!
I'm blown away by this performance. I've gotta say Crass was huge for me as a teen growing up in Southern California., And I know you've influenced many others one way or another. I'll bet Sleaford mods, Banksy, who knows how many others? Do they owe Crass a living? Course they fucking do-
