Brilliant stuff! My band (they were terrible) was lucky enough to be on the bill for Crass gig at the Marcus Garvey, Notts.(one of lifes highlights) on their final tour - I believe the gig was later released as Christ The Bootleg. The songs are possibly even more relevant now than in 1984.These songs, these lyrics, need to be heard as much now as ever. Too many complaining about Steve doing these songs, as if they want to keep them secret, only available to the select few who were there for it at the time. Elitist hypocrites. Anarchy Peace Freedom.
Top guy! i remember delivering my band's demo for Bullshit 2 with a mate back in '81 (i think....) we travelled far to get to Dial House & after handing the tape to the unknown person who answered the door & was about to close it on us....! we asked for a glass of water as it was a boiling hot day.... suddenly Steve appeared & asked us in for a cup of tea (& cake & biscuits...) we had a great chat & a great laugh & it really made our day! great memories ❤
May 2nd, '84 Marcus Garvey Centre Nottingham hosted Crass; the full crew, stark lighting with projections. A complete sensory assault on the assembled cognoscenti and curious, orchestrated to relentlessly pound home their powerful messages. A remarkable experience.
Couldn't ask for anything better to put on the TV sat here on boxing day! Steve and the gang once again putting the world to rights!!! ❤ there is a reason my first ever tattoo at 17 was the crass logo! Met them all and they are a lovely bunch, Steve and Carol once even told the cops to leave me alone outside at a show in London ❤
@@SteveIgnorantOfficial though you would also find it amusing that yesterday while cooking I caught my 4 year old walking around the living room singing at the top of his voice 'SCREAMING BABIES, SCREAMING BABIES, SCREAMING BABIES' !

I'll never agree with the 02 gigs, but this in black and white took me back to a gig I never saw,Carol is fkn superb,am teary as fuck watching this, just brilliant...yeah,my O2 comment...on RUclips...I get it ..
i grew up listening to crass when they were an active band. they had a massive impact on my during my teenage years to the point that i still hold them as the standard when it comes to politics and music to this day. they lived it and preached it and meant it. which is why seeing this footage reaffirms everything great about them. yes, these songs are decades old but the band are serving the songs their own way, allowing them to sound fresh to new ears and old. bless you, igs for keeping it going!
Only just got this come up on my facetube subsciption thingymajig today, and has brightened up my xmas more than anything else. Wish I was there with Steve (who I last saw at the Bridgehouse with Crass), kickass Pete Wilson, powerful Carol Hodge, groovy Pete Rawlinson, and the driving Jay Bagnall. Tried to get in touch with these guys through Steves webshite but the page was down!? Fucking good crowd weren't it. If you read this Steve, lose the bleeding t-shirt or put a few slashes in it! Love ya's to bits, from BethnalGreen
The only band still sounding like the first time not turning into a Val doonican act amazing I first saw crass at 13 years old in a boozer in Putney blew me away then as now ❤
I'm not sure about those Crass logo Fred Perry style shirts, how about a Bruno style mankini with a Crass logo on the crutch? I'd pay good money for one of them!
hearing the over the top alarm bells of that swedish girl while seeing all the old punks that thought they were going to die in a nuclear war, is pretty funny.
Did you ever actually see Crass, it was always unintentionally chaotic. It was never meant to sound polished, it’s not fuckin Elton John or something 😂. Steve probably sounds better nowadays, it’s a lot of lyrics to fit in every song, the band are technically better musicians and Carol is an incredible vocalist. The main thing is the message is more relevant than ever. Like Linton Kwesi Johnston Crass philosophy should be taught in schools.
The world needs these songs more than ever now.
Yeah what with all these lunatic Marxists destroying what's left of our country.
Just like old times, that’s why I’ve always been a huge fan of Steve Ignorant and Crass.

You just cannot deny just how superb this set sounds live now. 100% from everyone on this live recording just makes it special.
It was a top gig. And always amazed that I'm 55 and still haven't learnt any new moves...
The proven moves are finally sufficient to be able to move freely in 3-dimensional space...
Look on the upside Phil you could be 55 and not move! 👍
