So, basically 99% of kibble brands are no good. I can't find anything that is free from peas, legumes, grain, potato, brewer's yeast, and artificial vitamins. Nobody discloses where they source their ingredients either. For now I'm looking into trying Edgar and Cooper, 35% duck, 5% venison, and the rest is sweet potato and peas. 25% protein. Buying food for your pet is like going into the liquor store to buy wine but you don’t know what you want and there is so much to choose from. As for pet food there are so many brands and so many variations to choose from. My dog is not of a food driven breed and want just eat anything. What I have stayed clear of is products that contains poultry, specifically from the major brands. Common for all these cases were that they had been feed products that contained poultry from the far East. They were never to pinpoint exactly what caused this but they suspected that it had something to do with what they feed the birds. I contacted a major brand and asked if they were still using poultry from the far East and one of their veterinarians confirmed that they still were. I was assured that they had a strict quality control with their suppliers but if you don’t know what to look for you can not establish if the meat is safe.🤠

I don't mind with grain as long as using not so much. But real meat and vegetables are healthier so I'm using grain-free brands. But a lot ppl say corn is low-protein which is good for dogs. Because the vet recommended brand and a high-protein brand like Orijen could cause heart problems or kidney disease and recommends Purina pro plan. This makes me super confusing
I will be feeding Stella and Chewy’s raw coated kibble while on vacation as I will be traveling with my dogs. I will then switch back to their regular food in which I add fresh meat. I’m not sure if this kibble is super great but it’s for a short period of time.

I take my dog on walks twice a day and to the park twice a week, he gets plenty of physical and mental stimulation without all the fancy toys, plus has developed socializing skills with other dogs since he turned 6 months old ❤🐶

Hey Rachel! How do you feel about grains (in general) in dog foods? I have heard a LOT about the potential health benefits of feeding a grain free diet, BUT I have a golden retriever, and I have ALSO heard that grain free diets have been connected to several health conditions such as enlarged hearts specifically in goldens. I personally feed ACANA wholesome grains/limited ingredient (which fits a good deal of what you're saying makes for a good kibble), but I'm curious of what you have read and learned about with the grain free movement.
The grain free dog foods usually use more legumes in the dog foods which have been linked to causing enlarged hearts in dogs over time. I'd look at the ingredient list because not all grain free dog foods use legumes as the substitute.
We fed our small silky white rice for lunch and dinner, and she lived to 18 years old. I think it should be okay. Her meals were only cooked fresh meats and vegetables. A little bowl of dog biscuits for her any time snack whenever. Zero health problems. Passed away from old age only.

I am confused as I saw recommendations to never mix the dog's kibble with normal food. I read that it's unhealthy for them as their digestion time is very different and by giving the dog organic food like vegetables with the kibbles in one bowl you basically don't let the dog enough time to properly digest the kibble. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks a lot for sharing!

Because the vet recommended brand and a high-protein brand like Orijen could cause heart problems or kidney disease and recommends Purina pro plan. This makes me super confusing
Looking forward to your list Rachel! Can you please talk about Stella and Chewy’s wholesome grains raw coated kibble and Primal? 🐾
I will be feeding Stella and Chewy’s raw coated kibble while on vacation as I will be traveling with my dogs. I will then switch back to their regular food in which I add fresh meat. I’m not sure if this kibble is super great but it’s for a short period of time.
Rachel, what are your thoughts of "Goat milk in POWDER" ?
Hey Rechel the link is not working
hey thanks for this very informative, I definitely will be looking
My food adds omega 3 and 6 percentages as well as calcium and phosphorus percent. Should any of the5be taken into the equation?
Real question. No tricks. If synthetic vitamin pack is okay for me, why isn't it okay for my dog?
You do need to watch out protein levels if your dog has kidney issues.I was going to go raw but even my vet advised not to .If your dog can I guess it is a good idea.Am wondering if some breeds do better with a vegetarian diet .
I love your channel. I've been binge-watching it. I am a huge proponent of feeding our babies real food. I wanted to bring up something about green beans. I had a ton of allergies including green beans. They are considered legumes (I did not learn this until my allergy report). Let me know your thoughts.
Thank you I am looking for healthier pet food because I am always feed fast food. I need affordable food
Did you say “Save all the damn dogs? 😂
You are very knowledgeable and have a lot of valuable information to share (which is why I continue to watch your videos)❤ however, it didn't sit right with me when you said that research has shown that mental stimulation is twice as tiring to a dog than physical exercise alone, leading me to think that mental stimulation is more important than physical, maybe I'm overthinking it but I believe the opposite is best for most dogs. I take my dog on walks twice a day and to the park twice a week, he gets plenty of physical and mental stimulation without all the fancy toys, plus has developed socializing skills with other dogs since he turned 6 months old ❤🐶

Aww my pleasure!! ❤️
Could you do a review on eureka Australia brand
we like to give my dog " I love and love you" chicken do you mind checking that one out and let me know your thoughts. We switched to science diet because we found a little thing on her skin but that was the only reason. We now noticed she got some dandruff and never ever got that before and the coat looks a little dry vs shiny and oily how it normally is
Loved the video!💜
Thank you for being here ❤️
What about dr martys and dr Harvey please talk about them too
How many times a day do you feed raw food a day?
Can you do a video on a 8+ week old puppy that won’t eat? I brought home a puppy and using the kibble the breeder was using. If he does eat, it would only be from my hand and only eat a few kibble, he’d take one kibble at a time. He doesn’t eat as much as recommended …any tips?
Thanks!
Try adding a small amount of bone broth to it.
i found a kibble that only has 12% carbs its acana highest protein
Can you transition an eight week old puppy to raw food right away or do you have to transition ?
Taste of the Wild with Ancient Grain ....Please
Can’t find the list , says the list not available.
Lol dogs are not carnivores they are a omnivores.
Love your videos! I live in Puerto Rico looking for a good food, but not so expensive. Thanks!
Hi, have you found one that resonates with what you are looking for? I’m from PR as well!
Picking up our golden next week!!! 🐶 😍
Me too! Except in July lol
Eek 😍😍 keep me posted on how it goes!
🥳!!!
@@RachelFusaro First week with my puppy down! He is a 9 week old golden retriever and we named him River! This is my first dog Iv owned or trained, so finding your channel was such a blessing. Have been using all your tips and it’s been amazing and I’m surprised how well he’s doing, he’s got at least 3 commands down so far. And I’d say maybe 1 accident a day but that’s only due to me keeping up with my 3 kids so sometimes I don’t get him outside on time. But absolutely NO accidents at night!!! 😍 barely any wining in his kennel. Ahhh I just want to say Thankyou, I couldn’t have done this without such great information!!!
My dachshund destroys all stuffed toys. She loves to rip the stuffing out of them. But I have to say, we get her the regular Bark Box for small dogs and she hasn’t destroyed a single stuffed toy. We just got our 11th box. They’re so durable.
Oh sweet Luna! ❤️❤️ Aren’t they awesome toys? So fun
What difficult question do you ask to know if they’re really there to help not just for the money
Please try and review spot and tango unkibble. I'm not sure what to make of it, but my puppy loves it.
I will 💯

Hi Rachel! Thanks for a useful content, can I ask when calculating % carb. Do I need to sum up % crude fibre and those omega 3&6 and some minerals?
Can’t get this adopted dog to eat Kibble 😮💨
She only is interested in the cats soft food.
Can you review Nom Nom? My dog loves it hehe!
Pet food link does not work
Did she just said damn dogs? Wtf woman 😆
I'm in the UK and feed my puppy AVA which seems to be pretty good when comparing it to your key points. That said, it does have quite a few synthetic nutrients.
Try and feed your dog diffraction brands of food Rotation Is key to get a healthy dog feed raw wet foods ext since kibble has 10% moisture it will become dehydrated in the long run or adding water is the best thing you can do (warm water)
If you are in the UK try Akela, we rotate this with Orijen small breed- Akela - original, fish feast, and duck all have 20-26% carb
@@lollybabe08 thank you for the recommendation, I'll give them a go. I'm currently feeling him Naturo wet food and wolfworthy kibble. I can't stand the smell of the kibble and foolishly bought a very large bag. As soon as it's finished I'll be trying your recommendations!
@@fuchsiasummer You will like the smell of Akela. Even my dog prefer it to the Orijen and it’s half price Orijen. It’s good idea to rotate brands and type of food so they get different nutrients. Naturo is good, we use wet natures menu in the evening.
@@lollybabe08 do you have to be careful of their digestion when rotating the food? I remember reading something about easing them onto new foods slowly

These are great videos, but I have asked several times now, what age can you start to introduce toppers and or change a puppy/dog’s diet? Thanks
Hey Rachel, yep, been to your site soooo many times I do notice that the "oh" is missing at the end of your name!
