In today's video we play ESPN's video game NFL 2K5 for the first time. We play the first person football mode, which is similar to VR football game. Then we do a fantasy draft. And play with our new team which features some old school rookies you might recognize! Let's have some fun!

Legit the greatest football game ever, the Sportscenter feature alone was so far ahead of its time. You could watch highlights from the whole week during franchise mode, even the games you simulate still had highlights from them.
Presentation was WAY ahead of it's time! Nothing has come close since.
So ahead of its time that EA went backwards after their deal with the nfl.
I miss pimping out my club house and how amazing the running/tackle breaking mechanics were.

How madden doesn’t just copy is sad. Like join them, something. We need gameplay like this

Hold R1/RB if you want to scramble, and when you hike the ball don't pull the stick back immediately. Let the QB do the full stepback animation, it increases the throws accuracy.
This is why 2k is better then EA
It's funny when madden RUclipsrs play this and try to throw it like it's madden but fail lol

@@Merricat_likesu you can move around if needed, but always let the QB go through the animation if you can. You'll notice a difference.
It's so crazy that if the first person mode was played in VR, it would easily be the best football game on that platform. A game from 15 years ago...
sadly 2005 is 16 years ago. god im old. i bought this the day it came out and my brother got madden. no contest we played this more.

I'll always remember this game. It defined what a good football game should be to me. I remember having played the game for more than a year I decided to make the game harder on myself by playing with the Cowboys and using one of their low overall backups named Drew Henson. Imagine my surprise when the announcers actually had lines about Drew Henson's college career at Michigan as a dual sport Football/Baseball athlete. This game set my standard for football games so high.
All of the 05 games were unrivaled. They are the best, quite possibly ever. The huge thing holding them back was the graphics/visuals. In my opinion 05 up until 07 MAYBE 08 were the peak of sports games

This game was so good it caused EA to negotiate an exclusivity deal out of fear of competing.

@@TheBadGuy15 hopefully the NFL wises up and sees what Disney and FIFA sees.. that they can make more money with more people playing more games. Seeing that Disney ended their Star Wars exclusivity and FIFA ended theirs brings hope that Madden will be next

This game was legendary. From the first person to the crib, to the half time show. Absolutely one of a kind. If only we could have this today

I'm so fortunate to still have this game for my PS2. It makes you wonder just how good NFL 2k22 could be if they were still allowed to create another NFL series instead of EA's monopoly

This was, imo, the best football game ever made. And there's actually a mod team that has made an HD update with updated rosters. If you do end up playing more if this it would be great to see your take on the update

As a kid, I would always watch my cousin play Madden and I was always confused on why he played 3rd person as I assumed all football games were normally first person. Nice to see it does exist and actually looks fun.
This was such a good game. I was too young to be good at it so I’d turn first person on and just let the computer play lol

You will absolutely love the depth in this game.
It can really throw a lot at you, but in a good way. So much fun and so much depth, it can kinda be a lot. The stat tracking alone per user profile is amazing.
You should definitely continue this, 2K5 holds a special place in every sports gamers heart and you could kill it in a franchise in this

I cannot say how much I loved this game on Xbox because of the custom stadium music you could load on the hard drive. You were able to select the song you wanted to play in specific situations like the game opening, sacks, interceptions, touchdowns, etc. I remember having tons of Ludacris on mine. HYPE!
I got the notification at work. Will watch the whole gameplay at glorious 55 inch 4k. This game and you playing it deserves my full attention

Man, this takes me back to my childhood- when I played Fantasy Draft franchise in Madden 08 as the Panthers I took Vick as my QB and Urlacher at MLB. Would love to see more of Franchise Mode!

I feel like a franchise of this might get you back into a longer series dude. There's so much fun in that mode. I played it almost exclusively until Legend Bowl came out.

Steven Jackson had 12 years in the league, 9 of those were with a dismal Rams team. He made being a fan of them tolerable. You got my like!
Except stating he played for so.many teams, and saying the falcons first. My only problem with NTE.
Such a great game!! You could literally cut snippets of whatever songs you had downloaded on your Xbox and choose when the songs played, like for first down, touchdown, kickoff, etc.
Just one of a million awesome features that terrified Madden.

Thx for posting this, I always rememebered a FP football game camera but could not remember which game it was because i only played it a couple times at a friends house.
This gdamn game holds up and that camera view is outstanding!
The jukebox was my favorite thing about this game because you could buy the audio tracks of the announcer bloopers. Listening to those guys trying to pronounce "Chris Fuamatu-Maʻafala" was hysterical, as was them calling the opening coin flip the "toin coss".
Best football game to date imo, the pass audible calling ability was better than anything ever by Madden

There is a crack to turn it into 2k22! Its amazing. The team that did it put it the new stadiums, helmets, jerseys...etc. Its awesome!

Mike Vick was my favourite player back then. I threw the ball the same way. Everything(on field) about him was electric. 2K even tried to put his throwing motion into the game.

I played this game so much when it came out, I got in in 2005 and played it all the way until 2013 on the original XBOX, thanks for the nostalgia, those were good days.
I remember getting this game for Christmas when I was 8 years old. Still easily one of the best sports games ever made. Nothing madden did before or since even comes close

2:25 The only thing I hated about this game was the first person mode. Everything else was jaw dropping. I remember this game also came out before Madden to compete with it. Hopefully, 2K will have access to the NFL License again. EA lost exclusivity with FIFA, so maybe that is a positive sign that 2K will have the NFL again 🎮🏈👍

I don't have my PS2 anymore. But you bet your ass I still have this gem lying around for nostalgic reasons. This, Socom 1-3, all Splinter Cells, Ghost Recons, and the Maddens 03-08. This period of time was so god damn peaceful.

Absolutely love this game. It was one of the first football games I ever remember playing. The Swamis were the team I played as the most so I could win as a kid lol. The first person mode was pretty intuitive for how primitive it was at the time.
This was by far my most favorite football game back in the day…I remember coming home from elementary school and starting up my original Xbox and hearing that ESPN theme😂

So I've never been the biggest football fan, but all my friends were and had Madden, but I had this game. I didn't understand all the depth to it and was so bad at passing, that I picked the Falcons because I was told that the QB could run the ball so I played with them. To see you play this game and start with the Falcons was such a crazy weird blast of nostalgia. I would love to see you keep going in this, doing a Franchise and getting a chance to see all of the mechanics I didn't understand as a kid.
I absolutely loved this game! The og Xbox had a feature where the music you had downloaded on your hard drive could be edited and clips would be used as intro music, music after scoring a touchdown, recovering a turnover, and all that. It was extremely detailed. You could have Devin Hester return a kick to Soldier Boy. Which is as dope as it gets. (because that was his actual music on game day)
First video game I ever played. To this day, I get that perfect nostalgia feeling while playing it at my buddy's house. The thing is, the game still holds up. Wish I still had my copy. I used to play with my dad and grandfather all the time.
