what's sad is that a football game based around the early days of the sport is actually a pretty good idea.
I like how the default contract for the 1930s football game is $22,000,000 per person.
$22,000,000 in 1930 money probably would've been enough to buy the entire NFL.
Ikr a proper salary per player per game would probably be 20-40$ per game

Back in the day, the original FRONT PAGE SPORTS Pro Football was the best football game available on PC. This was way before Madden or NFL 2k5.
Play Sunday rivals it’s a very fun arcade football game and it has NFL rosters you can put in the game

I dont know what would bug me more with Front Page Sports, the gameplay, or the fact that the tunnels arent directly behind the goalposts.
Front page sports football was a decent game way back in the day. Haven't thought about it in decades until seeing this video
Those last two games felt like you're more likely to lose brain cells than actually have fun playing them

NO WAY!! This is 7 months late but I made Pigskin Punter!! It’s a little fun project I made trying to learn Unreal Engine. I tried playing ncaa 05 and despite setting all the human def sliders to 0 and all the cpu off sliders to 20 playing with a B rated def vs an A+ rated offense on heisman the A+ rated offense couldn't score 14 points like any other team
A game where you can't have a bad defense or a bad offense is unplayable because you can't improve
I played the hell out of the Front Page Sports game back in the mid-90's. It was a really good sim back in ye olden days of PC gaming. The version here, though, just looks like someone took the 90's version and stripped out all the user friendliness of the menus and then screwed up the physics engine.

The sim side of the 30's football game could be things like after gameday you're running back goes back to the steel mill on Monday and gets hurt by a falling beam

i guess drew hasn't heard of the LFL (now the x-league Extreme Football League) when he played the 4th game, which in 2012 almost got a video game by yuke (the developers behind the WWE and UFC games at the time) certainly would be a lot better and fleshed out then a runner. and a 1930 football games sounds like a perfect game being a bit different as its set in the glory days of classic football, a caricature of pre-“modern era" iron man football at a different time i do agree with you though it could use a lot of work in its gameplay and presentation. sadly, the developer of game 2 called it quits when he got burned on the development of the game years ago, a lot of indie game designers tend to learn the hard way that making complex sports video games, even football video games is not easy and after awhile it all becomes a very exhausting and too ambitious project to undertake. Capcom also tried to make a 1930 style football game for the psx, but it also got cancelled 2 months in.
Ahh, good ol Smitherston "Thin Helmet" Withers. Now that boy really knew how to use his head! One of the finest UGF ever seen! Such a shame that he somehow got struck with paraplegia in the middle of a game his senior year and never got to go pro...

Wasn't there a 1990s era football game with 1930s rules? I swear I had a pirated copy but don't remember the name. It was one with 1930s rules an leather helmets and the then modern rosters.
