They need to make a movie about DDP. Just his rise to champion in WCW would be pretty interesting enough for a good movie, let alone his work with the former wrestlers that fight addiction. Even people that aren't fans of pro wrestling would still really dig it if there was a DDP movie.

I spent 20 years battling addiction before getting sober a few years ago. I have met hundreds of addicts over the years. They are all different ages, races, genders, and come from all walks of life. No matter what category they belonged to, they all had one thing in common. There was something they were running from. I was no different. That is one thing about addicts that is poorly understood. No one becomes an addict for no reason. The common denominator is trauma. Addiction is only the symptom of that trauma, and you can't fix the addict if you don't address the trauma. Nash said it best, and I don't think anyone ever got through to Scott. It's just so sad that he is more remembered for his failures than his numerous successes. Hall was one of the most talented and influential performers to ever step foot in the ring, and I choose to remember him for that. RIP Scott
As a male I hope we can keep changing the narrative on addictions/trauma and promote healthy well being as men. I’m sick of drugs and alcohol culture we grew up with.
Spivey really did give Scott a treasure with the crucifix powerbomb. I still think it's the best "big guy" finisher in history. The toothpick, the greasy hair, the mic work.. Whatever his personal faults, he's one of the best in history, and much like Piper, he didn't need a Heavyweight belt to get himself over with fans. Thanks for this.
It really is. I always liked Scott Hall for his work. I can identify with his addictions as I am an addict myself. Ive been fortunate enough to be sober for the last 22 yrs. It gets a hold of some people and they cant get rid of it.
When I heard that story from Scott that he had to shoot a guy dead in an alley to defend himself from getting killed, it broke my heart. Such a well-meaning person should never be put through as much crap as Scott had to deal with in his life.

I feel watching this has made me understand why Scott Hall fell off the rails and how he turned out because of that one incident back in 83, the year I was born, I grew up loving him during my high school and he was the man? I must say his past got the best of him and that murder he faced had him go down a very dark path for where there was no return. Rest In Peace Scott Hall.

Not to be Debbie Downer but it all makes sense now! It was that altercation with the gun that messed up his mental health and gave him PTSD or panic disorder or something of that matter. Unfortunately, he self medicated himself for so long instead of gotten on the right psych medication. He did get better with help from DDP but all those years of booze and pills had already done it’s damage. RIP THE BAD GUY!

He was so tough and flowing with confidence. But even when I was very young I thought his eyes looked wrong. Unhappy or sad and I always wondered if I was seeing something that wasn’t there.
Scott said in an interview that Vince had never seen or heard of Scarface or Tony Montana, so when he came in to Vince’s office to essentially sell him on why he should push him and looked at Vince and said the famous line “Say hello to the bad guy” he said Vince was in complete and total awe, that he was INSTANTLY hooked on the character and thought it was one of the greatest personas he’d ever seen, Scott started quoting lines from the movie and Vince legitimately believed he was coming up with it all on his own. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he never put two and two together if he ever even watched the movie. 17:36 is a clip from that interview

I really love the shoots he would do. Interviews laying the truth out there. If wrestling hadn't changed where's kayfabe stayed strong but it didn't and as Bobby Heenan said many times, once they took out kayfabe everyone knows the tricks, wrestling became a shadow it was. So I loved Scott Hall sharing all the stories of how things went down. Especially during the 83 weeks of wrestling wars. It's sad a lot of the legends are no longer with us. I think dominating wrestling takes a lot out of you. Mentally, and especially physically.
Tried to follow this to the end but it’s an all over the place rambling that goes back and forth and forth and back and your timelines are all contradicting themselves. I commend your efforts, but this is all over the place. There is a proper piece covering Scott’s career and life on Amazon Prime.
I was in prison with a guy that had a similar situation. He was in on drug charges but fought with someone, gun came out, other guy got killed. I was on a block with this guy for like 6 months and it seemed to take a toll on him everyday. Imagine going 40 plus years with that on your mind. I couldn't. I'd probably take myself out

@56:51, he wasn't on cocaine or any drugs like that when he came into the arena, Scott Hall was just released from the hospital and was suffering from the drugs that they put him on.
Gavin says : this is a bit like the late great Hawk of the Road warriors as in even though he got help from his friends he got help way to late because he didn't understand what condition he was in!!
I remember seeing Hall first in AWA . And when I saw him as Diamond Studd , I didnt even realize it was him ! No mustache , slicked back black hair , It was probably me watching him for a month or so on the various shows they had before it clicked. Hey , thats Scott Hall ! But there was no internet back then ya know . And by the time you read something in a wrestling mag it had already been at least 2 or 3 months since it happened lol !
Can you imagine being the same size as Scott Hall was in his prime? Dude was massive and at 5'10" 165lbs I would have looked like a child compared to this behemoth
That isn't a murder. If you kill someone defending your own life, it's a killing. Murder is the initiation of violating one's right to life. The other party was clearly the initiator here. Hall did no wrong.
Hey yo, Isn't it ironic. That when a man finally gets sober and tries to repent for his sins he's stricken down. However you look at it he was the coolest guy to ever walk the aisle 🤘.
I don’t think Vince gave these guys work life balance between the 80”s through 2000”s .. never being able to form a solid foundation with loved ones ..over worked , drugs to deal with ring pain , always away from family .. it we’ll eventually take its toll
i love scott hall this was a tragic fight were it was either scott or the other guy wish scott had gotten the help he needed rip scott you will be missed
Neither cited ptsd definitions mention that ptsd is often emotions that come back to the person suffering with it through being triggered by events around them, the emotional trauma comes back heavily but not always the events. By then he was a train wreck around 1998 was arrested Louisiana for assault and battery drug charges was personal problems went through a divorce and shit alcohol 🍺 related problems the pills 💊 in early 1996 before going to WCW he was suspended from wwf for refusing to take a drug test
I wish promoters would be more mindful. I know its not their fault the performer is addicted but for gods sake keep them out of the ring and off the program! Stop whoring the wrestlers for ratings especially when its obvious. I HATE Bischoff for putting it in a storyline
Bishoff and Vince were a match made in hell. Neither of them take any accountability to this day. ‘oh he was a drug addict. He died.’ Jim Ross and Jim Cornette can only say so much because Vince owns them but when they talk about this stuff you can see legitimate grief.

An unbelievable story, my hero as a kid, and still a hero now, he went through hell, recovered and got his happy ending. What a legend ❤
I was in prison with a guy that had a similar situation. He was in on drug charges but fought with someone, gun came out, other guy got killed. I was on a block with this guy for like 6 months and it seemed to take a toll on him everyday. Imagine going 40 plus years with that on your mind. I couldn't. I'd probably take myself out
It’s horrific and almost hard to think about
24:39..this was when the I.c . Belt meant something ....guys like Mr perfect ,bret hart, shawn michaels , razor ramon , the british bulldog even diesel to a lesser extent brought some legitimacy to the belt and made it sought after ...if I remember rightly it was referred to behind thd scenes as the work horse belt
Hard work pays off, dreams come true.
Bad times don't last, but bad guys do!
Thank you for making this video.
I saw Scott Hall before he became Razor Ramon, he was very good in the AWA
Another great video. Can you do a documentary on Kevin Nash? Love your videos
Nice tribute. It’s sad to me that we won’t get any more promos or shoot interviews of the bad guy
Imagine seeing a couple schlubs pick a fight with a young Dan Spivey and Scott Hall with special guest enforcer Tonga Kid.
Can you imagine being the same size as Scott Hall was in his prime? Dude was massive and at 5'10" 165lbs I would have looked like a child compared to this behemoth
12:48 best picture in the whole video!
Your title and thumbnail are so brutal I cannot even watch a second of this.
I completely agree, work life balance is the key 🔑
Interesting how everyone that said The Ultimate Warrior "held up" McMahon, would "hold up" McMahon themselves.
Legends never die!
He was always my favorite NWO member. Scott Hall was the man!
I agree
Mine too bro and razor was my fave in wwf
i love scott hall this was a tragic fight were it was either scott or the other guy wish scott had gotten the help he needed rip scott you will be missed
The audio does not line up
„… and began to sport one of the most dangerous looking moustaches…” 😂
Am I wrong 🤣
@@WrestlePod Absolutely not. I just forgot he was once equipped with one of the deadliest weapons in wrestling history 😂
Neither cited ptsd definitions mention that ptsd is often emotions that come back to the person suffering with it through being triggered by events around them, the emotional trauma comes back heavily but not always the events. In fact it's mostly just the trigger and then the emotion that the ptsd makes you relive. Source: I'm diagnosed ptsd.
Thank you for your input. Appreciate it
That razor Ramon character was great
This is brilliant thank you matey 👍🏻
this was actually surprisingly really good. kept me entertained through being ill thanks. will watch more
Rip to the bad guy 4life
Loved the sudden ending mid senten...
Scott had that grizzled stubble that hollywood hogan could only dream about everytime he sat in front of a mirror with a sharpie....
Grew up in the early and mid 2000s watching wrestling , but for some reason am extremely drawn to Scott and Kevin nash , they really were just born for the business and they’re personalities are just magnetic . I’m a 22 year old kid but for some reason am able to identify with these two characters easily
Dude your voice is awesome. Idk what it is about it.
That is very kind!
This made me tear up a lil bit. One of my favorite wrestlers of all time man 💔
Kind of reminds me of the Brian Bosworth documentary from ESPN Brian and the boz !
But why does it feel like this documentary is chopped up and re-edited only but slightly ?
Is that to avoid a copyright issue from whoever originally made this or something like that ?
R.I.P. Scott Hall 🕊
the audio is messed up its about 1 minute ahead of whats showing on screen
You going to charge me for food. Once, people know, razor eats here people will line up around the block. Want to clean table for you. Throws everything on the floor. I'm razor, I do what I want. Sleep. Well, Scott.
I had 5 of them stuffed in my Z28, back in RI in '92 - Scott was one of the nicest wrestlers that I ever met.
Hall didn't deserve to die the way he did. He deserved better than that. He was lucky to have friends like DDP, who genuinely cared about him.
he did not choose drugs over his family there is no choice you can't hold that over an addicts head it's out of there hands till they want help for them self's and they will stumble but if they really want it they get back up and try again and the sad thing is some people will never see the light i know i was an addict for 10 years and one day i realized i need to pick stay a junkie and give up or dig my way out im on my 7 year clean glad i quit
Well now I know I got PTSD. I had the thoughts that I did but thanks to this doc I know fs now. Nothing like what Scott Hall had obviously but I never heard this story of him being involved in a shooting. I'm glad he wasn't the one that died that day
Self diagnosis from a youtube video. 😆
@@cqpzg you a goofy if you think this video helped me self diagnose myself. I self diagnosed my depression and guess what went to the doctors and had depression if you can see the symptoms that means you have it. You don’t just have symptoms and not have it🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️goofy
In the United States self defense is not murder.
The WWF did next to nothing to look out for roster chemistry 🧪 and safety. It’s a shame how these legends get snaked and discarded. Great video my guy
It’s so good to see how much better it has become with time. The wrestlers are the reason we are all here to begin with
Would love to have you on our podcast sometime when we talk wrestling 🤼♂️. So many folks these days cannot imagine the impact Razor had and how big wrestling was in the 90’s. Some of the best talent and shows. Nobody even then believed it was real but it was just sooo much fun tuning in.
As I'm an addict I see his self destruction.even In my life.we choose this .but the money machine took advantage of him.yes burning the candle at both ends is on me/you/him.therez something to learn from this . trauma starts addiction.think about it.YO GOD SPEED RAZOR SCOTT HALL.
"...bad times don't last, but bad guys do!" Whoop!! Whoop!!!
RIP a true legend
That wasn't murder it was self defense.
I never watched him when he was still WWF Razor, I starting watching pro wrestling mid ti late 1998. Even though he was not around very much when I watched, he was still always my favorite for some reason lol
