- Here’s a video on cutting 1x12 Pine Boards on my Woodmizer Sawmill. I try to go into a little more detail with y’all and how much money these sawmills can save, especially building houses, cabinets and other projects like we do. It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it!
These are all rough cut 1x12’s! These will go in one of our houses we build, possibly in our Kansas Camp House for our guide service up there!
This is step by step and in real time so I hope y’all enjoy!

My brother was a 70s model. His name was Jeff too. I lost him to Cancer couple years ago. Miss him ever day.

Not boring at all, Thanks for sharing. Worth watching, I used to work at a full size sawmill operation in the early 70,s . They made hardwood pallets, sold everything from those logs. I pulled logs out of the woods, loaded the semi, hauled to the mill. Delivered semi loads of pallets, to factories. Delivered sawdust to horse stables. Watching you run your wood miser , cutting logs brought back all those memories. You keep posting videos well keep watching. Have a great week.
Loads of U-Tube content creators are making a living just showing us saw milling. That is one beauty of a mill and this vlog shows how well worn it is and how comfortable you are using it. I for one would have liked to know which model of Woodmizer you own. As you and Hannah grow more experienced with vlogging I am looking forward to many entertaining videos from someone who can live the kind of life I wish I could.
Just a vlogging tip: Don't be shy about looking directly into the camera, it's like looking a man in the eyes when you are talking to him.
I never get bored watching you do what you do. If anything I'm amazed.

Not boring at all, brings back memories of 5 years ago when I used to work with my friend on his wood-mizer which was hydraulic. We also used to sell our sawdust to a guy who would come get truck loads of it. We built a lot of pretty rustic furniture and tables out of cypress, Oak and mahogany. I miss those days and my friend who died of cancer. Keep up the good work and God bless

Unlike the majority of people posting video's of them using a Woodmizer saw mill, Jeff knows his mill and can operate it with one hand tied behind his back. Big difference between an operator and a poser, and Jeff isn't a poser.
In 9 minutes cutting, you cut more lumber than the other channels combined showing off their new Woodmizer mills.
Hurt the thumbs up if you want to see more videos like this one just watching Jeff mill logs. I For one love it. Can't bore me Jeff cutting logs!

I Loved working in a mill ,, walking in and smelling all the different wood ,,, It was the most satisfying job I’ve ever had was working in a mill ... Ha and I was the plant electrician and program control for all the PLC’s ... GREAT JOB ... But it ain’t none of my business but can I suggest something-- Please Wear a Dust Mask ..! Something satisfying about working with machines like that.
Yeah, some days are probably brutal. Especially when the temps are up.
Other days can be just ugly. Stuff breaks, things need maintenance.
But I can still see it being satisfying work, especially when you can go for a swim after a day of making saw dust.
Keep working and living the best you can Jeff. You are demonstrating what truly good living can be like. We all need more people to do that.

I worked in the woods (runnin chainsaw) and lumber mills most of my life, damn robots doing my job now. Just watching you cut some boards brought back some great memories, great channel.

Well hell Jeff I'm a 61 model but I'm a 409 big block chevy still kicking ass lol.. not really I'm really a beat down ole southern boy who's daddy was the boss and I was the only son that had to be the example for everybody else. By the time I was 50 I had a right knee replaced, right shoulder shoulder surgery and a back thats suffered to many falls from walking plates and running rafters way high in the air. I became the sawman simply because one more fall would end me. I just build on my own now and I have a woodland mills sawmill on the way (tons of ceaders trees on my 10acres). You are a hoss man no doubt! I used to be one myself. Love your channel and you're doing some awesome stuff. I like the way you stand your walls, plumb them up then plywood. I could never get the guys in east Tennessee to understand that you can square that wall up to perfect laying down but when you raise that wall, what ever the floor is from end to end is what that wall with plywood nailed will now be! Stand that wall, rack it. Level it up. Brace it up then put your green guys to plywood it! It teaches them to measure, cut, nail and work while keeping your high dollar men on more skillful tasks. If nothing else your walls, especially two stories high will be straight up..

You are SO right.....these machines are flat money savers/makers. Owned mine since 1991, and it's astounding what you can do with a cheap source of lumber. Have sheds/barns all over my place, built 3 rental houses, lots of buildings for other folks, kitchen cabinets, and so on. IF you have any marketable timber on your place, this is a machine that will make you a ton of money if you work it.
And BTW, mine is very similar to yours....an LT40 with 18hp Briggs engine, no hydraulics.....they are NOT necessary for a fixed set up like you (and I) have..they simply add cost initially and more maintenance....the machine you have is IDEAL for the typical small guy
Don't know if you mention it, but for folks that don't know Woodmizer machines, Jeff is using an 80's model machine there.....so it's still cutting lumber after nearly 40 years of use.....THAT is how well build these machine are.
Definitely not boring i could watch that for hours. When i was in high school I worked at a saw mill after school and weekends on a circle mill. I ran the edger and stacked. We mainly did cross ties. Keep it up love to watch cause I can't do that work anymore because I'm just wore out . Now i drive a truck

love your channel and everything on it. i have a mill just like yours. got it new in 93. i'm a 1950 model so i don't move as fast as you do and ALL my belts slip but still try to do a days work. i'm in central maine and we love huntin, fishin, farming and working in the woods. keep the videos coming especially the sawmill ones. i know there is a lot more to runnin that old mill than meets the eye like blade maintainance, what to do with all the slabs and sawdust, selling lumber etc. i love seeing how other guys do things like that. take care

Awe yeah, good old memories. Spent two awesome summers on a woodmizer, mostly cutting logs for a log home company, some lumber, too. I believe that saw was the same year and everything that yours is, too.
I declare I can almost smell sawdust watching you cut, and it gives me a mighty urge to go saw something.

Jeff doesn't matter how long the video is. I have seen lots of Woodmizer videos. Lots of them will have one log done all the way and then speed up. At the end of the job would come back for comments about the job. A special cut of wood would be at regular speed then stop and return later near the end of the job if it was a lot logs to cut. A few would throw some water on the board to show off the beauty of the board. If not a close up would do.

Really enjoyed it. Definitely see where it can save alot of money. And just the sense of pride that comes from doing it yourself. I'm afraid that things are going to get alot worse with our country before it gets better. So knowing how to do for yourself is very important. Thanks again.
Sounds like a lot of people doesn’t understand how much hard work goes in to this video. Not to mention getting the logs to the mill

Nice video ! I could work with no gloves with the hardwood but not pine , could not stand the sap on my hands . I cut and hauled short pulpwood late 70’s - early 80’s then worked at a pine sawmill , never could stand that pine sap

I enjoyed the hell outta that. Nice setup. Guy here in Texas near me has old school bus using engine to power his. Mainly cuts oak planks that people put in livestock trailers for floor. Had him cut me some 3” thick ones a while back. Big ol cattle/horses tough on stuff.

It’s a lot easier now back in the day had a John Deere tractor pulling a belt running a 42 inch circular saw very dangerous if you were in the bullpen, .. throw in slabs as hard as you could go. Love the videos damn this quarantine..
