    On the fringer EF-FX website it lists XT200 as compatible but without PDAF support (poor performance). I had similar results as what you show with an XT100, but when I changed to an XS10 with PDAF support it works so much better.

    Viltrox makes a EF-FX1 adapter, just like the generic one you have, and a list of compatible lenses is on their website. Unfortunately they do not support as many lenses as Fringer, which accounts for the issues in your testing, so that's where most of the value lies with the more expensive adapter. That being said, the best shooting experience with Fuji cameras comes from using Fuji lenses and I wouldn't want to rely on using adapters in the long term, though they are useful to help with the transition.

      Yeah, I pretty much agree with everything. Although, some lenses may have sentimental value for some. While other people may just have a ton of non-Fuji lenses laying around, and getting an adapter may make sense for them. Nonetheless, this video (or at least my overall experience) proved that the behaviour of adapted lenses is often unpredictable, and that there are certain lenses that behave better with Viltrox (or generic, they are basically the same) than with Fringer. So.... you are right, it is much safer to stick with Fuji lenses in the end... apart from certain cases.
      P.s. Some Fuji lenses perform just as poor as some adapted lenses... so again testing is key.
      Thanks so much for passing by ;)

    You may not know this, but only Fujifilm lenses are compatible with the Xt-100 and XT-200 cameras, unfortunately I discovered it after buying the Samyang 12 f/2 AF. Samyang AF lenses don't work, so maybe it's the same for the lens adapters. I wonder how these compare on a XT-xx or XT-x camera

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  Год назад

      Yup, although I thought that this has changed recently with Fuji finally opening up to third parties for X-Mount cameras. Shouldn't the Samyang work now?

    • @sergioserramusic
      @sergioserramusic Год назад

      @@AleSuggests unfortunately no. Unless there’s an update specifically made for third party lenses, the fact that the sensor and probably the AF system is different than the one in cameras with X-Trans sensors makes it that on the website of third party lenses there’s usually a asterisk saying that the lens is compatible only with XT-XX and XT-X cameras

      @@sergioserramusic Fuji really screwed things up with the XT200. I really wanted to love the thing, but there were too many issues with it :(
      I think they even stopped selling it a few months after the release

      @sergioserramusic Год назад +1

      @@AleSuggests yeah, same for the XT-100. It’s a brilliant camera but the fact that only Fuji lenses work it’s a bummer

    could u test this adapter with xtrans cmos camera? as xs10

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  2 года назад +1

      Sorry for the late reply. I own a Fuji XS10 currently, and I only kept the Fringer adapter eventually. The adapter works very well with some lenses and less well with others. It's a bit of a hit or miss, but when it works well it's almost as good as native lenses.
      I hope this helps.

    I just bought xt200 and I have my old canon lenses I'm just getting confuse what should I do should I sell my canon lenses (55-250, 24mm f.2.8 and 50mm 1.8) and go for a Fuji 35 F2. What you suggest I need good autofocus both in stills and video.

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  2 года назад +1

      You will have a hard time adapting Canon lenses to the XT200, unfortunately (unless some firmware update has recently changed the results).
      My advice would be to wait a little if you can. Fujifilm has recently opened their lens mount protocol, so that other companies can finally make autofocus lenses for the Fuji system. Viltrox and Samyang have already released two bright wide angle primes. This means that most likely other manufactures will join the party soon... hopefully Sigma, too. Prices will go down, I guess... and there will be many new options to choose from.
      The open protocol, also mean that adapters may become soon much more accurate, so you may be eventually able to use your Canon lenses at some point. It's all pretty new stuff, so if you can wait, you may make better investments. And you could always email Fringer or Viltrox asking them if they intend to issue new firmwares or produce new adapters soon.
      Otherwise... by the time I tried them, no adapter would allow me to use my 50mm and 55-250mm decently on the XT200. I never tried the 24mm, though.
      I hope this helps and thank you for passing by ;)
      P.s. If you need a (fairly) cheap zoom lens, the Fujifilm XC 50-230mm F/4.5-6.7 OIS II satisfied me... although there is a new Tamron 18-300mm that you may wanna consider if you need more range. I don't own the 35mm F2 sorry.

    Hi, do you know if the generic adapter could work with the canon efs 10-18mm? Thanks

    • @AleSuggests
      @AleSuggests  2 года назад

      The 10-18mm + generic adapter combination was tested a long time ago. As far as I remember, the 10-18mm would work, but it would refuse to auto-focus. If I remember right, I would struggle to manual focus, too.
      I am currently using that efs 10-18mm with a Fringer EF-FX II (not the pro version) with my Fuji X-S10. It works like a charm! I would absolutely recommend this combo, instead.
      I hope this helps. Thanks for passing by ;)
