As someone who has owned multiple FZ07s and an FZ09 (for over a year and a half now), I have to say both bikes are freaking awesome. With some suspension tweaks, ECU flashing, and a few other mods to your liking it really pulls the bikes together. Both are very similar but also different enough that they seem very unique in their own way. I love both, loved having both at the same time and after spending a lot of time with the 09 only I find myself missing the 07.
The 07 is just a riot, hop on and go. It's punchy, nimble, and playful. Can do just about anything from being a basic commuter to a little gem of a track bike when set up right. It shines slaying some twisties with friends and riding a dank nooner on an open street.
The 09 seems a little more dialed in, like a scalpel on the street. Still has massive torque but it's layered more in the mid range but once you tap into it, hang on for dear life. Similar to the 07 it does just about anything, commuter, gem of a track bike, and savage in the twisties.
For the majority of the riding I do (commuting, weekend fun rides, back road exploring, twisties, and maybe 3-6 track days a year) both bikes do it just fine. I like the 07 a lot because all of my friends also have 07s, love 2 cylinder bikes, and not really a top speed kinda guy. I like that low down punch off the line and that 0-60 punch. Don't really care too much about top speed on the track, as long as I can get up over 100 when I need that fine, I really like the more technical aspects of track riding anyway.
Amazing bikes both of them are. Not sure which bike I'd take if you said I could only pick one. The 07 was my first love, the 09 entered my stable as the center of attention. Leaning more 07 just because of raw fun factor, sound, playfulness, and if you really need speed neither one is really great... go find a super sport

your opinion really helped, i already have a fzr1000 fully faired 1990 which is a lot of fun for Saturday morning open roads high speeds, i need something light that will give me the punch right away in the city with out having to go over 100 mph , the 07 is the one for me , thanks.
Both sound awsome. Thanks to you I bought MT-07 '14 + Scorpion exhaust. Because of the wind I installed VStream+ Tour windshield. It is so so good. Greetings!

I have a R7 with same full system and it turns so many heads. Yes an in-line 4 will always sound amazing, but the cross-plane is something different.
How many times can you edit a video about the same thing?

I currently have an XSR900 and an MT10. Both modified with all the standard stuff. Both are insanely awesome bikes, but i prefer the XSR. That triple is hard to beat... Easier to ride, yet still rowdy. And that bike is lighter than the MT10 too. I had a Tenere 700 with the CP2 engine out of the mt07 and never gelled with it, so sold it.

HIGHLY suggest trying a 21+ model MT09. The difference in handling is notably better. Arguably the best overall package in a bike (in my opinion).
I had an 15' Fz09 for 7 years, insane torque but horrible handling. Hopefully they finally corrected it.

@@512460 not worth the extra cash. Base model has fully adjustable front forks. Preload and rebound in the rear. That's plenty for the street.
Unless of course you want to upgrade me to an SP at your expense. 🤣

I love the sound of a triple.
I went from a CBR 600 RR to a MT 07, and am going to go to an MT 09 later this year, done a few test rides on those already. The MT 07 is a lot of fun to ride but I don't like the 2 cylinder engine, I much prefer the smoothness, the sound, and the power of Yamaha's triple. And, important for me as I start to enjoy longer trips more, the MT 09 is much more ergonomical for me being 6'4.
The 07 I have is from 16, and the 09 im going to get is brand new, so of course there will be differences etc.. but the tech on the 09, the quick shifter, the display, the looks, loving it haha
All the MT-07 needs is its forks sorted. Not an expensive job at all if you want to go for the Dave Moss special.

I have an MT07 and want the new XSR 900 once I can find one.
I really struggled to decide between the 07 or 09. I ended up getting the '21 Mt07 for the CP2. now I struggle to find anything it doesn't do well other than 150+mph. It really does come down to sound and top speed. You can't go wrong with either bike.
Have you ridden the 09?
How do you feel about it after all this time ?

OK guys I need your help...I'm an American living in the Philippines I do alot of mountain road riding and country riding not a lot of city...here I can get a 2022 mt07 old style dash brand new they call it a 2023..haha or for.... 1200 american dollars more I can buy a 2023 kawasaki z900...I have 40 plus years of riding under my belt. I want this to be my last new bike purchase..forever bike....what are you all opinions on this?..oh I have not ridden either of the bikes they don't do test rides here...thanks in advance for any help
Both sound equally great to me. MT09 may be faster and a much better equipped bike for the money but doesn't have the character of the 270° parallel twin MT07. Hopefully next year we'll be able to get Honda's "better in every way" Hornet (in the US/Canada) that is an equally fun with the same character. Also I expect Yamaha will finally upgrade the MT07 (hopefully with R7 suspension, slipper clutch, and better brakes) to stay competitive with its new competition (Hornet, GSX 8S, Duke 790).
Both sound amazing, I prefer the MT-09 but I'm a inline 4 guy so I guess that makes sense xD

The 07 is a great bike, but I’d take the 09 over it any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The 09’s power and gearing is perfect for highway and more rural riding, like Cruza does. The 07 is much better suited for more urban riding and stunting
When the time comes come pair the mt-07 to the 2023 susuki gsx-8s.
Fully agree on the electronic throttle. Never have I used one that felt half as good as a good old-fashioned cable!
Nor can they, there will ALWAYS be noticeable latency, if for no other reason than you've now added a servo motor to the mix.
They can keep their modes, wheelie control, cruise control, etc. I want the crisp, precise feel of the cable.

Two completely different bikes but I will tell you I like the mt-07 much better for city riding.
The CBR 600 RR has the best soundtrack by far!! 😀

Hi, I own a Yamaha MT-03 from 2006 and I'm looking for an upgrade and I mostly decided for MT 07 2023+ but.. when i see the videos on how MT - 09 performs in terms of speed and torque makes me think twice, I upgrade because I need abit more power also i ride on the streets only not on track.. atm im 65% MT 07 and 35% MT 09.. still thinking
See if you can get a test ride on both. I loved the MT-09 CP3 engine but disliked the chassis. However, Yamaha made some positive changes to the new MT-09 that may be better. You can't go wrong with any of the MT bikes tho, they are all great torquey street bikes.
I can't decide. I might just go with a supermoto but the supermotos cost as much as the MT09.
You're comparing current gen to previous gen. You need to find a current gen mt09 with a tune then compare em back to back. I think mt09 with catless exhausts sounds insane but it so loud it attracts a lot of police attention. So you kind of want to run a db killer.
Cycle cruzas problem was with the chassis he brought the ol mt09 i wonder what he say if he brought the newer one seems unfair comparing new mt07 to old mt09
The MT07 does sound awesome. That’s just a fact. After 4 years with the parallel twins on a z400 and ninja 400 I decided to go inline 4. Picked up a 2023 ZX6R KRT last week and absolutely love it. The lime green pops so much better in person. Do you need an ECU flash if I’m just using a slip-on?
Just get a full Akrapovic it’s worth it
@@KillaZamii I paid for the 5 year warranty and would need a tune for the full system. That would void my warranty. I just got the bike. I’m going with a slip on. Already ordered the M4gp last week. Should be here soon. Maybe when my warranty is up. Also just bought a full system for my mustang which was $1500. Not trying to break the bank rn.
I would flash the ecu of any Japanese bike I get using Moore Mafia anyways. Check out his videos - he wakes the crap outta those bikes stock AND with exhaust. Stock tunes suck tbh

Sound wise the MT09 by MILES ! for everyday riding and just cruising around the city the MT07 ! ( 2017 mt09 owner , had a 2015 07 and still miss it when cruising in the city )
Basically to each his own. MT07 is awesome bike. I have a xsr900. My oldest son has a mt09. My other son has an mto7 .he cant hang with us if we went all in . With that being said it's still a good bike very nimble.

I dont think the akrapovic exhaust does the mt07 justice. It shines at idle but sounds like a slightly larger riding lawn mower. Akrapovic makes great exhausts, but theres better systems foe that bike. It might just be hearing it on headphones.
I got a full graves system with flash on my mt09, it sounds like a tiger growling but i fan still hear my music perfectly fine.

I believe the MT07 is a little underpowered, just an opinion, coming from a Super Duke R owner, I guess is hard to understand the small MT07, good video 🫡
The MT-07 definitely would feel underpowered compared to the monstrous Super Duke. I bet the Super Duke makes the 09 feel weak too.

Having owned a MT07 and owning a MT09 SP now. It's really close on which is better. The MT07 is the perfect hooligan wheelie bike. While I think the MT09 SP is perfect all round for daily commuting and cruise control on the highway makes trips into the north Georgia mountains a breeze. Honestly you can't go wrong with the MT line-up. You could start on a MT03, then upgrade to either MT07 or mt09 or MT09 SP. Master of Torque is perfect name for the line-up.

Both are absolutely stellar bikes and would happily ride both daily. Sound wise they are both nasty. As far as power, even though they are both quick, the mt09 feels significantly faster to me. Overall Mt09 all day every day.
IMO, Mt10 sounds best, then mt07, then mt09.
You should collect them all!
Love my MT10, but it's just too much bike for the street. I think the MT-09/ XSR900 is the most ideal for the street.
Ex mt-07 owner, its a rust bucket and has crap suspension. Sure it has a great exhaust note by try the new gen mt-09 sp and you will sell the mt-07...
Sorry I am biased I just love and prefer the MT 07 mostly because it doesn't have any electronics.
I hate the way the tank looks on the mt09. If the mt07 was just slightly bigger it would look perfect
They both sound good. Too bad the MT-09 has all that electronics.
The mt7 sounds better idle and down low. Mt9 sounds better upper range.
Midsize Singles and Twins tend to sound like fart cans on the top end

In your dreams... Great engine, the rest is super cheap, super basic, and thus overpriced.
MT-09 felt more budget to me, I hated that chassis and suspension. I sold it pretty fast. The MT-07 just feels better riding it, ergos and feel. If they put the triple engine in a MT07 chassis that would be cool. I loved the mt-09 engine, just hated the chassis, suspension and ride by wire throttle.

Rn I’m looking at the R7, MT09, or MT07. Any thoughts on which would be a good buy? I’m no stranger to powerful bikes, but don’t want something overkill as speed limits where I live is only 60mph (hawaii, Kauai) and I’m not trying to get myself killed in a high speed accident 😅

If you are 5'8 or shorter go with the mt07 otherwise taller riders should go with the mt09.

After few years, I came ...just of curiosity. Nothing is changed I see. Same amount of subs. Of course there is a reason for that. Poor editing combined with poor content. Compare his with...idk...maybe Valteriffic, a guy who started in similar time and compare his subs. Guy has 2.36 million Cruza has a tried of million. I'm guessing major audience of this channel are minors who find this interesting. Myself, don't find anything as a rider with only few weekends of track days. Speaking from personal experience, one weekend of track day taught me more that a whole previous summer of riding, IT IS that big of a difference and whoever tells you differently - is lying. Try it, you'll see how slow you are.
Remember people, this is the guy who rode CBR600 for quite a while and was saying "why nobody needs a liter bike" (because you can't use it on street) and of course when got enough money, bought himself a liter bike.
Now he is saying he why is MT07 better than MT09. He is nothing but wrong. MT09 is one of best bikes ever. DO NOT listen what he says. Buy whatever your hart desire, do not listen to anything. If I can start on liter, anyone can.
I bet this guy is in beginner group on trackday - meaning poor riding, unexperienced. Any genius can twist the throttle, but not properly ride it. HE is prime example of that.
I wouldn't be surprised if this comment gets erased immediately of Cruza himself comes back with some lame excuse.
This is NOT an insult or degrading of any sort, this is brutal truth meant to serve as constructive criticism.

The POWER of the MT09 is better.
The LOOK and the SOUND of the MT07 is better.
MT07 has more third party support as well for parts and stunting
