IMO the MT07 is the perfect daily commuter bike. It's pretty perfect for everyday city riding and it's such a fun hooligan bike. Once you put a aftermarket exhaust on the CP2 it really makes the CP2 sing. Sometimes I miss my MT07 as I had so much fun being a complete hooligan on it. People hate on the looks of the MT07, yet dealerships can't keep them in stock.
I had to order mine and wait a while to get it. It was out of stock at at every dealership near me. Also, the great thing about the MT-07 is it holds its value really well because they are so highly sought after.

ive had mt07's since 2018, ive had only 2 issues so far, 2015 mt07 with 80.000km - in 2022 i had 1 popped fuse which stalled the bike. fixed for a few bucks. 2019 mt07 with 30.000km - in 2023 i had a crankshaft sensor defect, it stalled the bike and got fixed for a few bucks. swapped it for a gen2 mt 09, but i got sick and tired of the power after 6 months, swapped it for a 2024 mt07 with 0km i dont have a garage, it always stands outside in the rain and i drive in the winter with salt and snow! its an immortal bike
💯Facts! I love the chassis, much better than the MT-09 or MT-10 chassis. I actually bought mine brand new at a Harley dealership. lol The only Yamaha in the dealership. They know the MT-07 is legit too and a better deal than a Harley and more reliable.
Im 6"1 230 lbs and i have always wanted a mt07 with red wheels and i just got one last month and im excited to have my dream bike be my 1st bike as well
I totally agree with your assessment of the MT-07. I have a 2022 model and absolutely love it. I also have a ‘19 V-Strom 1000 and an ‘18 KLR 650, but I find myself riding the MT-07 the most because it’s just too easy to jump on and ride to work, etc. My other 2 bikes are great bikes too, but they have a different niche. Great content brother.
@@CycleCruza That's true. Sometimes very expensive cars have recalls etc. But there is something about the Ducati that people love. Some would rather have a broken Ducati than a perfectly running Japanese bike. I had one Ducati and I sold it after one season for the simple reasons it was very light and you had to put gas in it every 80-100 miles (small gas tank). No thanks.
Bought mine new in 2019. Couldn't be happier with it. Tune filter exhaust. Such a fun bike. Might not have best suspension or brakes. But your not gonna find that on a bike with a price tag similar to this. I ❤ it obviously... so rowdy and fun
I’m keeping my MT-07. It’s gonna get some stunt cage upgrades and tune and exhaust. My first Bike and love it for everything except cruising and high speeds. It’s worth its money.
I have the xsr 700 which is the same bike with retro look and I love it. The sound of the exhaust with an aftermarket part is amazing. The bike handles great and it has more.than enough power. I do not want to change it for.the bigger versión.
👍 Nice! I got good MPG in stock form (55+ MPG) but after modding it I only get about 43 MPG, which is still good to me. Better than that Tuono I had, in stock form it only average 27 MPG. Imo, the MT-07 is the perfect city street bike. I rank it #2 out of the 12 bikes I've owned so far, of course my 450cc supermoto is #1.
Here in Europe we also get the Tracer 7 which is basically an MT07 with uprated suspension, a fairing, longer swing arm and a better seat. Its a really great sports tourer
Best fun I’ve had with my clothes on in years! Bought a 22 cyan 07 and I can’t see me on anything else for quite a while. Perfect for the city, not too bad on longer runs either! 12k miles so far, lookin forward to plenty more!
I had a 2018 MT-07. It was a nice bike. I did a track day and a long road trip about 1,500km and it was great. Not the most comfortable but did it just fine. My only complaint is that the suspension is quite soft. It makes the bike comfortable but it can porpoise a bit in the corners if it's not a super smooth road. I'm 6'4" and 100kg though so probably better for a lighter rider. I would consider buying another one but I want them to put an upside down fork on it just coz it looks cooler, better rear shock` and ideally make it ride by wire throttle with QS, TC and Cruise Control. Then I would buy one straight away.
Mt07 Best bike ever… owned different motorcycles. If my wife would allow and I would get a bike again, I would get the mt07. I miss that bike more than any other. The perfect motorcycle.
I have the gsxs 1000 and boy oh boy that bike is the beast...absolutely cant stop smiling with how smooth and fun the powerband is on that thing and theyre only about $15,000 for 150 hp of fun

I'm looking for my first bike. And I'm in between picking the MT07 or a DRZ400SM and seeing you on MT07 makes me really want to get it even more because the potential it has.

Here i n England where the weather Can be Wet & Damp some MT -07s Have Been Known To Rust where the weld on the Swingarm is But thats the only Build Quality Issue I know of
i had to wait 3 1/2 months to get my 2022 MT07 & watched a LOT of videos on it & ordered a 950.00 Corbin seat & sissy bar....put it on the first day i brought it home, but still, after an hr or more it's best to get off for awhile....it's not a cruiser...
I just got a 24 upgraded from a z 400 only got 17 miles on ride home from the dealership then it started snowing again. I can’t wait for the warm weather
I don't ride much in the City either Hiway riding twisties plan to do track days.. The Ohlin Cartridges in the front forks. A lot of the plastic Body work cracked when I hit the Deer.. FZ-07 front fender 3 pieces.. MT-07 front fender one piece and much cheaper.. I upgraded to MT-07 front fender.. Maybe I need to upgrade to MT-07 gas tank plastic too. I will have to make sure the mounting points are the same.
When are you planning on releasing your home reno video. Your movie theater room was a great video. I ride a Harely mainly since I like the look of it. But the supermotos I will Admit are great!
I appreciate metal bikes, but I don’t mind the false tanks at all really. I do get the criticism of the fit and finish and the plastics in other places and the cheap sintered metal bits but you can easily replace the bars and the pot metal bits with some nice anodized rear sets and powder coated bars etc if you have an eye for detail. Even on bikes with nicer stick components I sometimes replace that stuff with variants I prefer anyway so It doesn’t really matter at the end of the day. You cant even compare it to cheap crap just because Is budget oriented.
Nice bike! Imo, Yamaha and Honda make the best bikes. I would love to see Honda make a torque rich line of bikes like Yamaha did with the MT series. The new 2024 Honda CB1000R could be a game changer, I hope.

The suspension is "crappy" when you push the bike in corners in loads and unloads when it shouldn't, and gets a bit sketch, but it's not meant to be ridden like a track bike, it's still a great bike overall
I hired one for 3 days and took it up the mountain passes, going into corners dropping down to 2nd the back wheel would lock up 🙄, not had that on a bike since early 2000, it’s was a back of shite!!!!!!!
Mt07 is an awesome bike but suspension and brakes leaves to be desired. They should make an mt07sp, it would fix a lot of its issues. However the bike will always be too light in the front for track use and aggressive twisties
The real mt-09 riders know who I am when it comes to the 09. I have taken that bike beyond its limits "four" years in the suspension was never an issue. And the reason the suspension is like that is because the mt-09 is a motard.... It's designed to do everything on road track off-road wheelies etc
The MT-07 engine is more fun to ride with all the punchy feel. And the bike itself is much more flickable than the Trident (which is strange because the Trident is a slim bike too). The Trident is better in many other aspects like build quality, looks (subjective), technology, suspension, etc.

I actually like that bike. Iam 37 years old and owning a cb650r. Looking more classy. My problem with the mt07 is when you goodle the bike you can only see wheelies, Burnout…. That’s not me. So I went for more older look like lol. But mt07 still a killer.

You said the suspension is good for average weight riders, what about those that are heavier? I"m not fat but I lift pretty heavy and I'm 260 lbs. I am thinking of getting an MT07 but I'm afraid I am too big for it.
i'm 6' & 190 & it feels perfect for me....i'd guess at 260 you'd be ok too....the engine has huge power....just don't go into a sharp corner too fast....the bike isn't made for that.....

Good city bike and hoodrat bike. Not the biggest fan of it in the twisties though bc the pogo front end. Its good enough though for it for sure. Im 5’10 180 and i had to max out my rear suspension
What's next for the MT-07 ? Stage one Turbo 112 HP Stage two Turbo kit 140 wheel HP.. You will need the 4" swing arm extension too. It's a Place in Austria..
By any chance have you noticed the bike won't start at the first try when you had the engine stop switch on the right handle bar off? That's happening on my R7, now I just leave it on always and no issues

I got sick and tired of waiting on the mt07. Iv ben waiting on it for 8 damn months and still couldn't get it, so I went and bought the suzuki gsx8s. I gotta say, it's a better bike, way better. I love it, the only thing I'm concerned about is that it's a new bike and nobody knows the short term or long term issues it's gonna have. But it's a suzuki, they are not known for building junk, they're known for building awesome shit. The excelleration on the suzuki is badass, I made a good decision. 👍
I had both and liked the SV650 frame, suspension, and brakes more but enjoy the MT07 engine over the SV V-twin. I now have an GSX8S and it’s literally the best of both worlds and comes with an quick shifter, tft screen.
NGL Cruza, I thought you were full of shit saying the 07 was better than the 09. After nearly 3.000 miles on my 2022 gen3 MT09 it’s honestly a chore to ride because the power is ridiculous for the type of riding I do in Cali traffic I demod an 07 a few weeks back and might do the same switch as you in the near future

IMO the MT07 is the perfect daily commuter bike. It's pretty perfect for everyday city riding and it's such a fun hooligan bike. Once you put a aftermarket exhaust on the CP2 it really makes the CP2 sing. Sometimes I miss my MT07 as I had so much fun being a complete hooligan on it. People hate on the looks of the MT07, yet dealerships can't keep them in stock.
I had to order mine and wait a while to get it. It was out of stock at at every dealership near me. Also, the great thing about the MT-07 is it holds its value really well because they are so highly sought after.
I favor looks over function. And mt-07 looks delicious.

ive had mt07's since 2018, ive had only 2 issues so far,
2015 mt07 with 80.000km - in 2022 i had 1 popped fuse which stalled the bike. fixed for a few bucks.
2019 mt07 with 30.000km - in 2023 i had a crankshaft sensor defect, it stalled the bike and got fixed for a few bucks.
swapped it for a gen2 mt 09, but i got sick and tired of the power after 6 months, swapped it for a
2024 mt07 with 0km
i dont have a garage, it always stands outside in the rain and i drive in the winter with salt and snow! its an immortal bike
I have a 2023 MT-07 and it seems to be the perfect balance of weight/power. The engine has unbelievable torque for its size.
💯Facts! I love the chassis, much better than the MT-09 or MT-10 chassis. I actually bought mine brand new at a Harley dealership. lol The only Yamaha in the dealership. They know the MT-07 is legit too and a better deal than a Harley and more reliable.

I totally agree with your assessment of the MT-07. I have a 2022 model and absolutely love it. I also have a ‘19 V-Strom 1000 and an ‘18 KLR 650, but I find myself riding the MT-07 the most because it’s just too easy to jump on and ride to work, etc. My other 2 bikes are great bikes too, but they have a different niche. Great content brother.

That's true. Sometimes very expensive cars have recalls etc.
But there is something about the Ducati that people love. Some would rather have a broken Ducati than a perfectly running Japanese bike. I had one Ducati and I sold it after one season for the simple reasons it was very light and you had to put gas in it every 80-100 miles (small gas tank). No thanks.
Bought mine new in 2019. Couldn't be happier with it. Tune filter exhaust. Such a fun bike. Might not have best suspension or brakes. But your not gonna find that on a bike with a price tag similar to this. I ❤ it obviously... so rowdy and fun
I’ve had a couple over the years. Excellent ergonomically and a great overall package. Great bang for the buck Japanese reliable!
I’m keeping my MT-07. It’s gonna get some stunt cage upgrades and tune and exhaust. My first Bike and love it for everything except cruising and high speeds. It’s worth its money.

I have the xsr 700 which is the same bike with retro look and I love it. The sound of the exhaust with an aftermarket part is amazing. The bike handles great and it has more.than enough power. I do not want to change it for.the bigger versión.

87 octane, sounds great, I get 60+ mpg, fast up to 90, cheap, got 11k on my 2021 with zero problems
👍 Nice! I got good MPG in stock form (55+ MPG) but after modding it I only get about 43 MPG, which is still good to me. Better than that Tuono I had, in stock form it only average 27 MPG. Imo, the MT-07 is the perfect city street bike. I rank it #2 out of the 12 bikes I've owned so far, of course my 450cc supermoto is #1.
Here in Europe we also get the Tracer 7 which is basically an MT07 with uprated suspension, a fairing, longer swing arm and a better seat. Its a really great sports tourer

Best fun I’ve had with my clothes on in years! Bought a 22 cyan 07 and I can’t see me on anything else for quite a while. Perfect for the city, not too bad on longer runs either! 12k miles so far, lookin forward to plenty more!
I had a 2018 MT-07. It was a nice bike. I did a track day and a long road trip about 1,500km and it was great. Not the most comfortable but did it just fine. My only complaint is that the suspension is quite soft. It makes the bike comfortable but it can porpoise a bit in the corners if it's not a super smooth road. I'm 6'4" and 100kg though so probably better for a lighter rider. I would consider buying another one but I want them to put an upside down fork on it just coz it looks cooler, better rear shock` and ideally make it ride by wire throttle with QS, TC and Cruise Control. Then I would buy one straight away.
Mt07 Best bike ever… owned different motorcycles. If my wife would allow and I would get a bike again, I would get the mt07. I miss that bike more than any other. The perfect motorcycle.

I have the gsxs 1000 and boy oh boy that bike is the beast...absolutely cant stop smiling with how smooth and fun the powerband is on that thing and theyre only about $15,000 for 150 hp of fun

Man I had to pull a 2010 HD roadking in for a state inspection and it felt so awkward just sitting on it hopped on my bike after work and was like this right here is why I got my z650

Get cheap cbr125 for a couple weeks first if you dont ride dirtbikes already

Been riding my MT-07 for a couple years now. All it needs is a good aftermarket seat or pad. This stock one makes it rough to do more than an hour.

i had to wait 3 1/2 months to get my 2022 MT07 & watched a LOT of videos on it & ordered a 950.00 Corbin seat & sissy bar....put it on the first day i brought it home, but still, after an hr or more it's best to get off for awhile....it's not a cruiser...

I don't ride much in the City either Hiway riding twisties plan to do track days.. The Ohlin Cartridges in the front forks.
A lot of the plastic Body work cracked when I hit the Deer.. FZ-07 front fender 3 pieces.. MT-07 front fender one piece and much cheaper.. I upgraded to MT-07 front fender.. Maybe I need to upgrade to MT-07 gas tank plastic too. I will have to make sure the mounting points are the same.

great bike. rented one a few years ago in newport beach ca and loved it. appreciate the input/pros about plastic tank covers.
I appreciate metal bikes, but I don’t mind the false tanks at all really. I do get the criticism of the fit and finish and the plastics in other places and the cheap sintered metal bits but you can easily replace the bars and the pot metal bits with some nice anodized rear sets and powder coated bars etc if you have an eye for detail.
Even on bikes with nicer stick components I sometimes replace that stuff with variants I prefer anyway so It doesn’t really matter at the end of the day.
You cant even compare it to cheap crap just because Is budget oriented.
Id love to see your opinion on the CB650R! Not a torque monster like the MT07 but its a blast to ring out to 13k RPM!
Nice bike! Imo, Yamaha and Honda make the best bikes. I would love to see Honda make a torque rich line of bikes like Yamaha did with the MT series. The new 2024 Honda CB1000R could be a game changer, I hope.

The suspension is "crappy" when you push the bike in corners in loads and unloads when it shouldn't, and gets a bit sketch, but it's not meant to be ridden like a track bike, it's still a great bike overall
I'm sure it's perfect if ridden in a straight line.
I hired one for 3 days and took it up the mountain passes, going into corners dropping down to 2nd the back wheel would lock up 🙄, not had that on a bike since early 2000, it’s was a back of shite!!!!!!!

Mt07 is an awesome bike but suspension and brakes leaves to be desired. They should make an mt07sp, it would fix a lot of its issues. However the bike will always be too light in the front for track use and aggressive twisties
The real mt-09 riders know who I am when it comes to the 09. I have taken that bike beyond its limits "four" years in the suspension was never an issue. And the reason the suspension is like that is because the mt-09 is a motard.... It's designed to do everything on road track off-road wheelies etc
Man, Yamaha should really make a sport-cruiser with this all-mighty CP2...

The MT-07 engine is more fun to ride with all the punchy feel. And the bike itself is much more flickable than the Trident (which is strange because the Trident is a slim bike too). The Trident is better in many other aspects like build quality, looks (subjective), technology, suspension, etc.

I actually like that bike. Iam 37 years old and owning a cb650r. Looking more classy. My problem with the mt07 is when you goodle the bike you can only see wheelies, Burnout…. That’s not me. So I went for more older look like lol. But mt07 still a killer.
One of the reasons i didn't buy this as my first bike back in a day was poor suspension & i didn't mesh with it. I'm sure it's been improved since.

You said the suspension is good for average weight riders, what about those that are heavier? I"m not fat but I lift pretty heavy and I'm 260 lbs. I am thinking of getting an MT07 but I'm afraid I am too big for it.
i'm 6' & 190 & it feels perfect for me....i'd guess at 260 you'd be ok too....the engine has huge power....just don't go into a sharp corner too fast....the bike isn't made for that.....

Good city bike and hoodrat bike. Not the biggest fan of it in the twisties though bc the pogo front end. Its good enough though for it for sure. Im 5’10 180 and i had to max out my rear suspension

What's over wight for the MT07 ? So you get the best suspension feel?
Have you tried going down 1 tooth in the front and 2 up in the rear.. should have some serious torque.
What's next for the MT-07 ? Stage one Turbo 112 HP Stage two Turbo kit 140 wheel HP.. You will need the 4" swing arm extension too. It's a Place in Austria..
These Japanese bikes have no more or less plastic, etc. than a Japanese car, and we know how reliable Japanese cars typically are. Motor on MT-07!
I just found a Flex Fuell kit for about any fuel injected motorcycle. It can add up to 10% power for your MT-07

I still think the best bang for the buck and ride quality by far is the 2023 XSR 900. Better suspension, quick shifter, etc. $9,999
Really you can't go wrong with any of the MT and XSR lineup. They are all great street bikes, just depends on your preference.

By any chance have you noticed the bike won't start at the first try when you had the engine stop switch on the right handle bar off? That's happening on my R7, now I just leave it on always and no issues

I got sick and tired of waiting on the mt07. Iv ben waiting on it for 8 damn months and still couldn't get it, so I went and bought the suzuki gsx8s. I gotta say, it's a better bike, way better. I love it, the only thing I'm concerned about is that it's a new bike and nobody knows the short term or long term issues it's gonna have. But it's a suzuki, they are not known for building junk, they're known for building awesome shit. The excelleration on the suzuki is badass, I made a good decision. 👍

The sv is a better balanced and handling bike. Both good fir the money. I'm picking suzuki every time tho
I had both and liked the SV650 frame, suspension, and brakes more but enjoy the MT07 engine over the SV V-twin.
I now have an GSX8S and it’s literally the best of both worlds and comes with an quick shifter, tft screen.

NGL Cruza, I thought you were full of shit saying the 07 was better than the 09. After nearly 3.000 miles on my 2022 gen3 MT09 it’s honestly a chore to ride because the power is ridiculous for the type of riding I do in Cali traffic
