I’m also an old guy. I’m 64 years old now. I have had 13 different bikes and 9 of them were Yamaha. In spring 2023 I was ridning a Yamaha Fjr 1300 2014 year model. I was thinking about let the MC ting in my life go and do something else instead. The Fjr was fun and had a lot of technical options that was nice to have but the bike was also a little difficult to control due to heavy weight at low speed. When leaving the Fjr for tire change to a local shop I had the opportunity to testdrive a MT-07. Man, I fell in love immediataly and traded the Fjr to a 2023 MT-07. The summer 2023 I have been driving the north of Sweden, Norway, and Finland 4000 km and I don’t regret the trade from Fjr to a MT-07 at all. I agree with all said in the Ugly Thruth video.
Me too bought mine new in 2015 as an interim bike after an operation- 9 years later - still love it except the euro fueling ecu snatchiness. Sold my CB1300sa which I just never rode - always took the Yamaha.
I'm not really a naked bike kind of person, but the FZ-07 (MT-07) is one I'd proudly own. A family member of mine had the FZ-07 and even in stock form it was a blast to ride. One day they came over with the bike and told me to come check it out. They put on a full Yoshimura exhaust (headers, muffler, etc) with an ECU refresh and tuned on the dyne. I started it up and it sounded absolutely savage. Took it for a ride up and down the road...it definitely wasn't the same bike anymore. Thing even tried to lift the front wheel in third gear when I was giving it throttle. It was truly a beast awakened. Probably one of my favorite bikes I've ever ridden to this very day.
Hi, I have a question, am a new biker and I want the MT07 as my first bike but I heard and read that the suspension is really bad on the MT07 and that death wobbles happen a lot on it. is that true?
@@masterking3804 I only have experience with the FZ07, which basically is the MT07, but I’d imagine suspension design improved if anything. I know while i rode the bike slow, fast, etc I never had any issues with wobble. I would do some research online and RUclips, etc just to cover your bases but I think you should be totally fine. Keep in mind that it’s a basic suspension system and not some fancy multi thousand dollar setup like you’d have on a super bike. It does the job though. The people experiencing speed wobble are probably doing 100+ mph…which any bike is susceptible to speed wobble at those speeds. The MT07 will be a really great first bike that is gentle and easy going with enough power to grow into and not get bored. Ride safe and make sure to take the advanced riders course after getting a bit of seat time under your belt. They’ll teach you a lot of great stuff like trail braking, etc
Have mt07 2023 for a month now.. completely agree to everything you said. Ive driven kaws, hondas but there is something in yamaha, it is just so much smoother when you drive, love it!!
One downside is the large panel of the new one, it is so large yet no functionality, would love it if i could use that for navigation instead attaching a phone, which btw is another struggle because the og handlebat has a new size an my quad lock isnt quite fitting it, looking for alternative now.
I have an MT07 and while it’s a good bike, it’s not the end-all/be-all. It’s great for cities (it’s sole purpose) but blows for higher speed highway riding in the way that any other naked does. It’s suspension also feels sketchy the faster you go. Above 100 you’re really getting brave. I love it but I’m not gonna pretend it’s the best thing ever.
It’s not like it’s unsafe or unusable. It just doesn’t have great suspension. It will probably corner better than 99% of riders can anyways, and especially on the street. I wouldn’t say it sucks at all. It’s just apparent of it’s shortcomings when you ride a more expensive motorcycle with quality components.
Yep, I own one as my first bike, and while I don't really have the skill to get everything from it, I weight 95kg and it's just feels to soft for me. When I catch a bump the bike is all over the place. Don't get me wrong, I'm having the time of my life, but a year from now I'm planning on getting probably a mt09 SP and sell this one for sure.
Also, totally agree on the high speed riding. Another reason why I'm getting rid of it is that I don't do much city riding and in open roads I would like to have a little more punch at higher rpms so if I'm in danger I can overtake other vehicles like nothing.
Owner of a 2016 Fz-07 and I still grin like a fool everytime I ride it after all these years. You said it and like everybody says about this bike, if you can describe this bike in 1 word it's FUN!!! God bless you Cyclecruza, keep up the great motorcycle content and stay safe out there. ✌️👍
Bought mine rode it for few months got ran over broke my back and leg learned to walk again and started to order parts to rebuild her again she is something special for sure I can't wait to ride again 💪
My wife just bought herself a 2024 MT07 and I became super jealous after I rode 24 miles home on it. Its torque is super fun to experience and ride position is like heaven compared to my Ninja. Also, crazy lite compared to other 600-700cc bikes. I would get one myself, if she didn't already buy one. The love for these bikes is one of those things you dont know until you ride on one yourself it seems. Now I am looking at paying off my newest bike ASAP so I can get something similar.
The MT07 is one of the last RAW bikes out there. Aside from fuel mapping (which can be tuned out), when you give it 100%, you are getting every once of that 100%. The suspension, the exhaust, all things that can be upgraded. The lack of rider aids is also what makes this bike amazing. I can't wait to get mine.
@@AntoniOrszykowski Yes, even the new MT07 don't have throttle mapping. So aside from the fuel map, which can be derestricted if necessary, when you twist 100% of the throttle, you're getting all of it.
I'm 16 years old and I've just bought a used Yamaha MT 125 2020, as a child I've always had some interest in KTMs, but when it came time to choose I preferred the MT to the Duke. I hope I'll be happy with it.
Really good bike for casual use. On my A1 license I had an MT125 2018, cause I preferred the looks of that model. 2 years and had no problems with it. Rode it for about 21000km. Just got my A2 license yesterday and got an MT-07 A2 restricted. There’s a huge difference in going from A1 to A2
I had one of these as my very first motorcycle from 2015-2018 and absolutely loved it! Most of the things you said are true, it is a great bike overall but it has its light and shadow sides like everything else. The engine is absolutely perfect, the sound, the feel... only over about 90 mph it gets a bit sluggish, but on county road speeds this is an engine that I would prefer over many bigger engines because they often dont feel as good. The suspension however, is not great. It tends to sway itself up in the corners on even slightly uneven surfaces which does not exactly inspire confidence. Handlebars are also too narrow - I once test rode the same bike with wider aftermarket bars and it was much better. The first version of the cockpit instrument was also not great, because it was really hard to read when the sun was up. The first seat which they used also was rather uncomfortable after a few hours. All in all still a fantastic bike, but after 10 years on the roads with only minimal changes, the others are catching up fast. PS: If you want to enjoy that absolutely fantastic engine but you dont like the MT-07, it is also in the retro bike XSR700, in the dualsport tracer 700 and in the enduro tenere 700.
let's be honest the biggest reason why so many people buy it is because of the looks and brand recognition, imo Yamaha's design team has perfected the looks on their motorcycles it's unreal, even their maxi scooters like Tmax 560 and XMAX 300 are head and shoulders above other scooters in terms of looks
I have MT 07 2019 black and in my biased opinion it's the best looking naked motorcycle ever built but many of my friends and even strangers have said this to me, my brother has z900 2018 and my MT07 looks better by a mile
They made some better changes on the new MT-07, a bit wider bars and few other changes. I don't understand why they don't make SP version, it is worthy of one. However, the bike is fine to me for what I mostly do, just cruising and rip it here and there. Beats a Harley to me and cheaper.
I’m looking at upgrading from my first bike. Now my first bike goes 60 mph maximum so I just want something that can take me to class or work and is fun and has enough power to drive on the highway and be able to still accelerate. I think I’m leaning towards the mt-07. I also really like that Japanese bright color scheme it has.
Keeping the stock exhaust will lead to fewer pissed off neighbors and police interactions. People like to say loud pipes save lives, but they mostly just get the cops called on you.
The truth is the MT07 is the perfect middle weight naked bike. For the price you can't beat it. Sure no rider aids outside of ABS, but it'll be one of the most fun bikes you'll ever pop a wheelie on. People complain about the suspension the most in my experience, but the suspension is meant for urban city riding on crappy, bumpy roads that seemingly are ALWAYS under construction. It's soft suspension absorbs the impact like it's meant to. Honestly if it had cruise control I'd still be riding a MT07.
💯 One of my main attractions to the bike is the cable throttle and no ride aides bs, straight raw grunty motorcycle. I hope Yamaha keeps it that way. Unless you are overweight the suspension is fine, like you said for street riding you want a soft suspension.
@@lopezdad30 The MT07 is NOT a beginner bike. Anyone who starts on one is definitely gonna go down on it. Especially if it's their 1st experience riding. They won't have the responsible throttle control to prevent whiskey throttle. I have a MT09 SP and it's not a middle weight bike. It's closer to a hyper naked bike than a true 600cc to 700cc middle weight bike.
@franktorre5244 lol sure it is...70ish hp is very manageable and a sweet spot for fast and fun while being forgiving. Any rider with a brain and a sense of responsibility can very well begin with the Yamaha MT07. If it was available when I started riding back in 2011, I definitely would have bought one.... instead the 2011 Yamaha FZ6R was my beginner bike, which has very similar power figures to the MT07 actually and guess what!! I never went down, how could that be!!??
I had a 2015 fz07 for 2 years and sold it this past march. I didn’t like how unrefined the build quality and suspension felt. Although it was fun at first because of the torque, it was a choppy, bouncy bike. I could definitely see someone enjoying it for wheelies and stunting, but for cruising around and spirited riding, I just didn’t like it enough to keep it after 2 years. Does anyone share my experience?
@@IamtheDill i’m in between the Ducati Supersport, the Tracer 9 GT, the Suzuki GSXS1000GT, and the Aprilia RS660. I want more wind protection, slightly bigger engine, and way more features (QS, Cruise Control, Adjustable Suspension, etc). These are all nice build quality too from the research i’ve done. Now i’m curious, what do you ride?
@IamtheDill next step would be middle weight nakeds, like MT09, Z900, gsxs750 or 8s, Honda hornet 750, triumph street triple 765rs, Ducati street fighter v2, Ducati monster, ktm Duke 890r, Aprilia tuono 660 factory.
I bought one 5 years ago and bike still makes me smile every time I drive it. Perfect bike for in the city. Had a lot bigger bike but this one is a keeper.
MT-07 owner here. had it 9 moths.. I will always have one of these bike in my garage. wheelie machine, canyon machine, city machine. it does everything you could ever realistically need. 130mph top speed. pretty accurately described in this vid.
i'm am old dude and still get carded. Love my simple 1996 Honda Nighthawk. I get more compliments on this bike than any other bike I have owned, in the 52 years I have been riding.
I own a 2019 MT 07 which I bought used. It only had 700 miles on it. No I used to have a high speed 1400 ninja and nowadays I enjoy being a hooligan on my twin cylinder with all the torque!
I’ve been thinking about upgrading to an MT07 from my DRZ400SM. I bought the DRZ as my first bike two years ago, and it’s fun, but it’s getting too slow for me. I hate not having the power to pass two cars on a two lane road when I’m stuck behind them.
Excellent!!! I've been riding for 34 years now. I've owned several Japanese motorcycles. Yes, it's my high preference in terms of motorcycles, and Yamaha is my favorite company. I remain open-minded and I'm not "hardened" to this brand but... I have a strong natural tendency for Yamaha. It's my choice and I'm saying it here as an experiment, because for the number of Yamaha bikes I've had in the past and still have today, I remain loyal to this brand. They are artists, outstanding motorists. They have and continue to innovate (the design of their "CP" is fantastic!). So, in closing, I wish long life to your channel and I wish you to continue your good work by informing with truth, your tests.
I'm choosing to be optimistic and expecting a slightly different but basically the same fun filled 270° P-twin experience from the new Hornet/GSX 8S/Duke 790 that you get with the MT07. It's nice to have additional choices (especially when the Hornet gets US availability).
Don't expect too much fun on a vanilla Honda these days. That new Suzuki GSX-8S has some nice bottom end grunt but needs to iron out some issues. I've heard nothing but good reviews on the KTM 790 and 890 Dukes. The MT-07 is still the best selling out of all of them but we'll see what the future holds.
@@CycleCruza Nothing vanilla about Honda's new Hornet according to all the RUclips reviews I've seen. In fact the Hornet reviewer's gleeful/enthusiastic/emotional ride experience response seems to match what I see in MT07 reviews more than any other bike. Adding in the slightly different flavored Suzuki and KTM indicates to me the MT07 will no longer have the monopoly on fun!
@@tempofugo168 Comparison tests have favored the Suzuki as a better handling and overall bike but if that's a deal breaker for you it's understandable. Where the weight really hurts the Suzuki is it offsets its power advantage over the MT07 giving both bikes an almost equal power to weight ratio. I plan on waiting till I can get the Honda Hornet. Engine output is similar to the MT097 below 5000rpm but ideal shift point is about 1500rpm higher and producing an additional 19hp/7ftlb on a dyno. Brakes are far better too + the lower price and all he electronic aids!
I have had my 2023 MT 07 sense may and I love the bike. My buddy who ones a V2 Ducat Penigale and he talks trash on my MT, yes his top end is faster but I keep right on rides. I don’t really care about above 100 mile an hour speeds I’m a single dad I have things to live for.
I’m on a r3 now I think mt07 definitely gonna be the next bike. Thing sounds so good, not super heavy, and like you said can rip around without xxx (which I don’t do anyway cause she tops out at 106)
I started on the r3 as well. You owe it to yourself to consider the mt09 too. Specifically the gen 3 models. I test rode the 07 and 09, and the 09 rides so much better imho. The 07 is great, don't get me wrong, but the 09 is a LOT more polished in every way. The electronics package is pretty impressive too. I'm sure traction control has saved me from a few close calls when I first got the bike.
Buying my first new bike on Saturday. You convinced me to get an MT07. and upgrade from my ninja 250 that I passed the msf course on with flying colors.
If all that tank held has instead of being massive fairings on a dual sport sized plastic container I'd consider one, but i can't be commuting on a bike that makes me feel like I've gotta stop for gas on the way to work *and* on the way home...
@@matts4852 used to be 60 miles, now it's 45 one way, so filling up for a one way was a bit of hyperbole but still, I'd have to fill up every day cause i wouldn't be getting the same mpg as you most likely closer to 45ish, so even just a lil extra gas would cut my time at the station in half... I really wish there where a metal tank option cause the bike is otherwise perfect. Light enough to throw some 70/30 tires on to get me up the mountain way more safely than my fz6r, and plenty of power for commuting on the highway without bouncing off the rev limiter the whole time.
I find it funny when. Kids play an open world game like gta They want to immediately play with motorcycles, guns, and all that excuting stuff But when jt coed to the real world people like you Let 20 years fly by without doing what you wanted Probably too busy being productive
I sat on this bike today at my local Motorsport store. I’m 6”3 and it fit pretty good. Haven’t rode in many years and thinking of riding again. I’m 61 yrs old now and been looking at the Kawasaki 900 Vulcan Classic cruiser.. That bike fits me perfectly also. Should I get my first bike that is lighter or one that has a little less torque like a cruiser but weighs more?
Tested these bikes. They are the Coca-cola of standard bikes. They're just good. Yamaha doesn't have to hype this line. The MT-07, 09 and even 03 deliver wonderful engine thrust for the displacement and light weight. They also feel like riding a real bike. Not a primative bike that beats you up, but a simple direct feel bike. I'm currently on a Honda with 50k (all mine) and figuring its death is coming...thus I'm looking. I doubt I'll ever buy a bike that's not a twin so the 07 is the thing. If Yamaha would take the MT motors to other designs they sell like the retro 400 and the learner cruiser they still sell then they'd be beating Honda, Suz and Kaw in sales.
I just got through watching a European press launch for Yamaha's 2023 MT125 and it left me shocked but hopeful. How this relates to our US MT07 compared to other similar but newer/better equipped competition is this 125 comes with a slipper clutch, USD fork, 5" TFT display, traction control, high performance tires, radial mounted front disk, and variable cam timing (good low and high rpm output). Yamaha's current simple configured MT07 will always have a high "fun factor" because of its CP2 engine but adding the standard features they put on their 125 (+ R7 brakes) would also give it competitive performance with the Hornet/GSX 8S/Duke 790 it''s in direct competition with.
The cost and bang for buck of an mt07 is amazing. Have owned 2 and an 09. 07 is a special bike. It’s not particularly fast, but is quick and punchy. So much fun on the street and track. It’s hella fun running circles around 600s on the track 😂. Needs some tweaks to be track ready tho, suspension/bars/gearing/tune
I'm hoping someone makes an even lighter, less powerful, retro version of the MT-07. Hopefully Yamaha makes an XSR400 with a 270 degree crank. That would be the perfect bike for me. I love my KLX300SM, but I'd greatly prefer a more comfortable seat, less vibration, and just a little more power.
@@mtmatt8958I disagree, I own a 2018 XSR700 and there is definitely a good amount of vibration. It’s not uncomfortable at all but it’s clearly there. As for original commenter, I don’t find the CP2 to be all that powerful as people say it is. Definitely a snappy throttle but i’ve never had the front wheel come up on accident. All the power is down low. Once you get into the mid to higher rev range of 4th gear you feel that power start to fall off. If you do most of your riding at 35-45mph it feels very powerful.
I did ride an mt-07 with the riding school in the begining when i was about to get my licence and then later on they sold them and got the bmw 750 instead but even that bike was to small for me, me being 6,5 so ende up with a ducati multistrada 1200s as my first bike and it is amazing.
First time rode mt07 yesterday for my driving license classes i was able to do anything with this bike in first minutes. Everything feels great. really fun to ride
i just test rode a gsx-8s for a weekend and have to say, that the bike ist far more superior over my mt-07. the suspension is so much more stable and better and the grunt low tourque is at least even. the only downside is the higher price in my opinion, but you get a preinstalled quickshifter/blipper which is best in class for this category, a good tech pack and the sound the gsx-8s makes, when you ramp up the gears with the quicky is really good and emotional. dont get me wrong, i love the mt-07 to the bottom of my heart, but the bike doesnt aged well the last 2 years. hope yamaha will upgrade to a better suspension, a little bit more tech and keep the motor like it is. suzuki and honda did a great job with the new generation of 700ccs and iam excited about the future for yamaha 😁
I own a MT09, should of got the 07..... period!!! Been on a lot of the latest mid weight nakeds and none of them are touching the fun factor that a 07 brings, none of them!!! well the KTM duke is close but that is the only one! But this is my advice, if you aren't a good rider, or you are a new rider don't buy the MT07 it is too much bike for someone who doesn't know how to ride or can't ride. Go get yourself a Honda Hornet that will ride itself and keep you alive!
I've been wanting one for years. Finally said fuck it and bought one today. It's better than I could have ever expected. You're absolutely right. There's just something magical about it. It's the best motorcycle I've ever ridden. If you're someone who's watching this video and him hawing about whether to get one or not, just do it. You will not regret it. It's like what you imagined a motorcycle would be like when you were a little kid. CycleCruza, thank you, by the way, for all your videos on the mt07, you're the only person on youtube who's done a direct comparison between the 07 and the 09. I bought the 07 instead of the 09 because of your videos. I don't want to go super fast, I want to be super agile. Way more fun that way.
I recently crashed my VFR, and have been riding two MT07s from the driving school i work at. The 2016(35kw), and a 2023(55kw). I have ridden a lot of bikes, but none that fun as a package. Was planning on buying some sort of a cruiser, but seriously thinking of getting a MT07...
The giggle laugh at 8:50 is exactly how I laughed the first time I rode my MT07 from the dealership home. Just recently got one and I can’t stop thinking about riding it in every free minute I have
Great owner review. I rode the MT7 and the SXR7 and actually liked the SXR better. The MT is smoother power and quieter stock. The SXR has that Brappy low note exhaust stock. Yamaha lacks in the tech. Why not have a dash with the gps integrated? Most people add them like you did. They create a beast like the MT and slap a cheap gauge on it
Younger riders say around 30 years old want a big screen TV size digital gauge package on a bike. My first bike had only an hour meter and stopped working in short order. Most bikes of recent manufacture have way more instrumentation than the top end cars when I started riding. A bike only needs a good speedometer and odometer.
You always drive the mt07 in the countryside and the outskirts of cities and praise it, we want an experience inside the cities, traffic and narrow streets
My buddy used to have one before he bought a Ducati. I rode it a couple of times. The Ducati is obviously a better bike, but for the buck the MT-07 is unbeatable in my opinion.
I have a 2017 FZ07 (same as the MT07) same thing just renamed. Anyway I paid 9k for a bike with less than 1000 miles. The guy who owned it originally put a Corbin leather seat on, de-restrictor plate for full 100% throttle, full akrapovic exhaust and a tune. And I added woodcraft handlebars for a more aggressive riding position. The bike never dissatisfies
I love my 2021 mt07. I have a budget exhaust, tune and the airbox lid opened and foam filter upgrade and she rips. Even with cheaper exhaust, it sounds amazing. As well, some find the front end a bit too much like a pogo stick (i did) and can be fixed with a little work and different fork oil. Fixed it right up and feels way more stable, or planted now.
New rider with 2015 fz07. It has the stock front sprocket and rear sprocket. Noticed you don’t shift from first to second gear until much much later than sub 10mph but rpm isn’t up high. Did you change out a sprocket? Didn’t see the mod list in the description section for this bike.
got my motorcycle license 2 weeks ago with a MT07, it is truly magical. I am 38, and interested in choppers. Realized that the only bike on youtube is mt07 :)
Great video Fella, To me motorcycling isn't about a bunch of stats or hitting the reset button after you crash. Getting on something without soul is great if that's all you have but, once you get acquainted with something with this much personality it's impossible not to become friends. If you like it now just think of the possibilities with a race tech Cartridge Emulator and 15-20 fork oil or just trimming the spacer down in the fork by 10-15mm. That will plant the front and improve the ride and handling. 3twoclicksout, 2clicksout, Dave Moss suspensiontuning.
never appealed to me only because for the money i could get the sv650 which is a more substantial bike to my eyes in build quality, design and history. Performance wise, not a big difference being mt07 more nervous and front wheel lighter and sv650 more planted and better for highways.
just got my mt07 and would not swop it for anything! prob won't ever "upgrade" YAMAHA DAVIDSON damn right rippin the throttle and hearing that grunt is just something else it makes my heart sing
Yo! Cycle Cruza. All the additions to your MT07 Fender delete. Tst blinkers n so on. What you think about the engine spoiler? I bacically haved added same as you(diff exhuast the toce razor) but i ended up adding the puig engine spoiler n it looks pretty SICK!
I just bought a mt07..... Most fun I have ever had with my clothes on!! Such an amazing machine..... Yamaha really got this one right..... Sex on 2 wheels! ❤
I subscribed to you because you help me find a bike that’s it is badass. Went from the iron 883 to a 2022 MT-07. Bought it today. Thanks for helping me brotha. Keep up the great work!
Hey, so yesterday i did a test ride on the on the mt-07 and the MT-09 sp and man i have to admit that both bikes are great, honestly theres no Going wrong with either one, i ride a MT03 for the longest i also have ride a R1 and honestly it come down to what you want, i like both again but im going with the 9 SP better suspension and elctronics
But the truth is that the 9 SP is very powerful to the point that it's scary 1,2,3 gear. I test ride it on mode #2 which is the second fastest and with the wheelie control so its very scary, it will just take time to matered
@@olivervalerio2468 nice I feel like the mt09 struggles and shakes past 110mph not like I am going to go that fast all the time. I bet with a r7 or r1 it wouldn't do that right?
@@KaranMotoVlogs you need a stabilizer bar for the bike because it has to much power and it prevents a dead wobble. I haven’t feel that yet, I feel if you do 140 you will start feeling that way but again you not doing that speeds all the time
I retired in the Philippines and ride a MT15. I had a R1 in the US. I enjoy my MT15 for getting through traffic which its great for. But probably add the MT07 for highway and long rides.
I ride an XSR700, same motor/chassis, I totally agree with the “fun factor”. My previous bike was a Hayabusa, the CP2 has more accessible grunt for daily riding. The only time the Hayabusa was more fun was the top end rush. Those speeds could have killed me, or put me in jail. This bike has a “just right” power band
They have MT-15 (150 CC) in southeast Asia and India. It's got a taller saddle than the MT-07 (5mm and feels ever slightly too tall) and for its class, it didn't feel like it had as much torque ompared to the Suzuki 150 bikes. No ABS etc. on any of those bikes, the only advantage of the MT is that it has a slipper clutch.
Very enthousiastic comment. Makes me enthousiastic👍 Love the MT07 but the SV 650 also. What do you think of that bike? I'm thinking to buy one of these 2.
I'm 70 now and always rode cruisers for the most part and a mixture of dirt bikes and standards over the years. Now I'd ready for something lighter and fun to rip around on and the MT-07 looks like a good choice.
The Honda Hornet CB750 is not in the u.s.a. yet. I spoke to the dealer and he said we don't get it yet the Honda Hornet CB750 two seconds faster in the quarter mile than the Yamaha mt-07. Someone showed that on RUclips

I’m an old dude and ride an MT07. I agree with what you say, you’ve summed the bike up perfectly. It never fails to make me glad I bought it.
Nice! 👍
I'm an old dude too
Just bought it😂
I own a 16 fz07 and even though I don't ride it enough I still enjoy it. It's a great alternative to riding a cruiser all the time.
Nice! 👌
I love it but I’m not gonna pretend it’s the best thing ever.
ive heard alot about the mt07 suspensions many people are sketchy about it
It sucks stock. Period. All u can do is ride it hard in a strait line. Dips and dives under hard braking and acceleration
Yep
Bought mine rode it for few months got ran over broke my back and leg learned to walk again and started to order parts to rebuild her again she is something special for sure I can't wait to ride again 💪
God bless your soul🙏
I don't have my driver license yet
The hornet is even wilder
Is that latest edition ?
@@AntoniOrszykowski Yes, even the new MT07 don't have throttle mapping. So aside from the fuel map, which can be derestricted if necessary, when you twist 100% of the throttle, you're getting all of it.
I'm 16 years old and I've just bought a used Yamaha MT 125 2020, as a child I've always had some interest in KTMs, but when it came time to choose I preferred the MT to the Duke. I hope I'll be happy with it.
@@cwaz2353😂😂
I'm sure you will. ;)
It’s a very good bike you’ll not regret it
Really good bike for casual use. On my A1 license I had an MT125 2018, cause I preferred the looks of that model. 2 years and had no problems with it. Rode it for about 21000km. Just got my A2 license yesterday and got an MT-07 A2 restricted. There’s a huge difference in going from A1 to A2
@@thealbertinho9223 You are finally faster than my schoolbus with your A2 bike, right?
@@dariomladenovski7047yeah, the new projector headlight redesign was a step backwards in design, I wish they kept the old mt09 front look
Get the MT-07! It is an awesome bike! Sounds awesome too with an Akrapovic exhaust with baffle removed.
I agree my friends
💯 One of my main attractions to the bike is the cable throttle and no ride aides bs, straight raw grunty motorcycle. I hope Yamaha keeps it that way. Unless you are overweight the suspension is fine, like you said for street riding you want a soft suspension.
Ain't no middle weight.... still in the beginner category. MT09 is the middle weight
Yessir, hit the nail on the head
What did you go to next? Just curious what would be the next logical step?
Man ,its your fault , not bikes, MT07 is not a cruising motorcycle
I bought one 5 years ago and bike still makes me smile every time I drive it. Perfect bike for in the city. Had a lot bigger bike but this one is a keeper.
💯👍
Not to forget the Z650 from Kawasaki. That bike looks dope!
@@richardwarsinske7064except the Suzuki is heavier. 20kg heavier wet.
Thing sounds so good, not super heavy, and like you said can rip around without xxx (which I don’t do anyway cause she tops out at 106)
You'll love the MT-07 as your next bike, guaranteed.
Your love for this bike is contagious!!!
Buying my first new bike on Saturday. You convinced me to get an MT07. and upgrade from my ninja 250 that I passed the msf course on with flying colors.
I owned one, never regret as my first bike and still the favorite one,, safe ride cyclecruza and more power!!
👍
If all that tank held has instead of being massive fairings on a dual sport sized plastic container I'd consider one, but i can't be commuting on a bike that makes me feel like I've gotta stop for gas on the way to work *and* on the way home...
I can get 180 miles out of a tank? How far do you commute?
@@matts4852 used to be 60 miles, now it's 45 one way, so filling up for a one way was a bit of hyperbole but still, I'd have to fill up every day cause i wouldn't be getting the same mpg as you most likely closer to 45ish, so even just a lil extra gas would cut my time at the station in half...
I really wish there where a metal tank option cause the bike is otherwise perfect. Light enough to throw some 70/30 tires on to get me up the mountain way more safely than my fz6r, and plenty of power for commuting on the highway without bouncing off the rev limiter the whole time.
My driving school has a mt-07 and i got lessons on it. Loved it.
I haven't ridden in over 20 yrs, and that was dirt bikes. I want one of these. Looks like so much fun.
I find it funny when. Kids play an open world game like gta
They want to immediately play with motorcycles, guns, and all that excuting stuff
But when jt coed to the real world people like you
Let 20 years fly by without doing what you wanted
Probably too busy being productive
I sat on this bike today at my local Motorsport store. I’m 6”3 and it fit pretty good. Haven’t rode in many years and thinking of riding again. I’m 61 yrs old now and been looking at the Kawasaki 900 Vulcan Classic cruiser.. That bike fits me perfectly also. Should I get my first bike that is lighter or one that has a little less torque like a cruiser but weighs more?
Bought my MT-07 new in 2022...simple upgrades and I love this bike...the best 👌
Bro you convinced me… never seen so much positive energy in a single youtube video. MT07 will be my next bike. Cheers from Poland 👊
If Yamaha would take the MT motors to other designs they sell like the retro 400 and the learner cruiser they still sell then they'd be beating Honda, Suz and Kaw in sales.
so do you like or hate the bike I'm confused
You can't go wrong with any of the MT bikes. MT stands for Master of Torque!
All you do is go in a straight line.
Do you have actual curvy roads where bikes should be ridden? Thank you.
The MT07 gives very little vibration. My mt03 (321cc) gave off more handlebar and mirror vibration. Great engine
Yamaha got just too comfortable with the mt07, I think. They needed some competition in that category and they have it now.
I bought my 1989 Yamaha Radian at a dealership that also sold Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, and Honda.
The giggle laugh at 8:50 is exactly how I laughed the first time I rode my MT07 from the dealership home. Just recently got one and I can’t stop thinking about riding it in every free minute I have
if your bike has to many electronics its a problem, this bike has what it needs adn thats why ppl love it
My r6 got stolen and i miss it dearly. But im looking for something more daily friendly
is 50k kilometers too much for an used mt07 2018 ?
Are u dumb😊
Can’t compare to Honda hornet cause it’s not available in United States .
please tell me, what the hell is your aftermarket exhaust brand and name?? it sounds perfect..
Yes please tell!!!!!!
About to get my license in August. This is actually the bike I'm thinking about getting
My buddy used to have one before he bought a Ducati. I rode it a couple of times. The Ducati is obviously a better bike, but for the buck the MT-07 is unbeatable in my opinion.
Why not Duke 790? I think you heared that many times, but I am curious to know your opinion.
What about the frony suspension? I wanna buy one but the suspension weak makes me doubt..
Why did you replace the stock exhaust if you like the sound?
Wish you still had your dual-sport. I miss seeing you ride off road.

Its a fantastic allrounder. I just bought one as a student bike for getting ur open class licence in Australia . . .

My new MT-07 is already in the garage.
I'm just about to get my driver's license and can hardly wait to ride it.
New rider with 2015 fz07. It has the stock front sprocket and rear sprocket. Noticed you don’t shift from first to second gear until much much later than sub 10mph but rpm isn’t up high. Did you change out a sprocket? Didn’t see the mod list in the description section for this bike.
Is that a stock exhaust? sound pretty dope do you have mic attached near to it or ?
its akrapovic carbon exhaust its not the stock
got my motorcycle license 2 weeks ago with a MT07, it is truly magical. I am 38, and interested in choppers. Realized that the only bike on youtube is mt07 :)
what would be better as a first bike? duke 390 or mt 07?
Great video Fella, To me motorcycling isn't about a bunch of stats or hitting the reset button after you crash. Getting on something without soul is great if that's all you have but, once you get acquainted with something with this much personality it's impossible not to become friends.
If you like it now just think of the possibilities with a race tech Cartridge Emulator and 15-20 fork oil or just trimming the spacer down in the fork by 10-15mm. That will plant the front and improve the ride and handling. 3twoclicksout, 2clicksout, Dave Moss suspensiontuning.
I want it now! Problem where I live it´s almost impossible to find a reliable mechanic.
never appealed to me only because for the money i could get the sv650 which is a more substantial bike to my eyes in build quality, design and history. Performance wise, not a big difference being mt07 more nervous and front wheel lighter and sv650 more planted and better for highways.
I trained on one and loved almost everything about it. All except the forks and indicator switch. And I hear the forks are pretty easy to fix 🤔

I got an '18 xsr700. Just put 1" bar risers on it, hope it's a little more comfy. Love it though.
just got my mt07 and would not swop it for anything! prob won't ever "upgrade" YAMAHA DAVIDSON damn right
rippin the throttle and hearing that grunt is just something else it makes my heart sing
Yo! Cycle Cruza. All the additions to your MT07
Fender delete. Tst blinkers n so on. What you think about the engine spoiler? I bacically haved added same as you(diff exhuast the toce razor) but i ended up adding the puig engine spoiler n it looks pretty SICK!

Baffles removed? Is that an Akra exhaust?
I just bought a mt07..... Most fun I have ever had with my clothes on!! Such an amazing machine..... Yamaha really got this one right..... Sex on 2 wheels! ❤
I had this and it was a nice bike but I sold it. Now I'm getting ready to pick up a 2023 xsr900 I bought. Can't wait for the fun.
Which exhaust is on your mt 07? Sounds great!
Akrapovic Racing Line Carbon
What model year is that my friend?
Have you done a test ride on the Harley Pan American?
What exhaust is it and price ?
I subscribed to you because you help me find a bike that’s it is badass. Went from the iron 883 to a 2022 MT-07. Bought it today. Thanks for helping me brotha. Keep up the great work!
I want you to test ride a mt09sp gen 3.
I haven’t feel that yet, I feel if you do 140 you will start feeling that way but again you not doing that speeds all the time
@@olivervalerio2468 ah okay I do long commutes but I am kind of tempted to change it up a bit and get a R7 :)
I retired in the Philippines and ride a MT15. I had a R1 in the US. I enjoy my MT15 for getting through traffic which its great for. But probably add the MT07 for highway and long rides.
Riding this bike this wednesday at my riding school! Cannot wait
Bro please halp i m a new rider, what is better i buy this mt 07 or kawasaki Z650?
I ride an XSR700, same motor/chassis, I totally agree with the “fun factor”.
My previous bike was a Hayabusa, the CP2 has more accessible grunt for daily riding.
The only time the Hayabusa was more fun was the top end rush. Those speeds could have killed me, or put me in jail. This bike has a “just right” power band
What happened to your cbr1000rr?

Weighs as much as my CBR1000RR 😮and my rear is upgraded torqued fa days, But so glad you liked the MT07 Yamaha Davidson CycleCruza #1🎉😮
I'm thinking to buy one of these 2.
anyone recognize that aftermarket exhaust he was running here?
I'm 70 now and always rode cruisers for the most part and a mixture of dirt bikes and standards over the years. Now I'd ready for something lighter and fun to rip around on and the MT-07 looks like a good choice.
Its like an over grown super Moto, I am getting one here very shortly.
The Honda Hornet CB750 is not in the u.s.a. yet. I spoke to the dealer and he said we don't get it yet the Honda Hornet CB750 two seconds faster in the quarter mile than the Yamaha mt-07. Someone showed that on RUclips
