If you are there at night, other than the one outside the church gate, there are no streetlights. So it can get pretty dark. If you can handle that then you can really get a feel of what it was like to live in such a place centuries ago.
I live not far away so I'm glad you had fun.

Thank you for this Sophie. I have actually been to Lustleigh some years ago, one of my ancestors lived there & it's very nice to see it on video.

My ancestors are also from here: I was hoping to get a peek of this village, so thank you, Sophie! I am embroidering my entire Family Tree, and never sure of the internet "facts," but here is my 16X GREAT Grandmother: "Isabella Wadham Hill born 24 March 1375/79 in Lustleigh, Devon, England, UK -
died 25 April 1423, age 44, in Lustleigh: The manor of Lustleigh was bought by Sir John Wadham Justice of the Common Pleas in 1403 and stayed in the Wadham family for eight generations, when it formed part of the estate of Nicholas Wadham (1531-1609), co-founder of Wadham College, Oxford.
It continued as an estate manor in the hands of heirs of the Wadhams, the Earls of Ilchester, until the beginning of the 19th century, when it was broken up and sold off." Darn, because I would love to come claim my castle or Manor of Lustleigh in Lustleigh. Oh well! Aloha, Claire, California-born, Scottish father, moving to Scotland 11 May 2023! I will begin by exploring ancestral homelands in England and Wales, and Ireland! So excited.

My ancestors came from Lustleigh and some relatives on my grandad’s brother’s side still live there. One day I want to go to Lustleigh to see where I came from.

Yes, there is a Kelly farm just outside Lustleigh village on the A382. It’s been in the same family for sometime.
