You can't blame locals trying to earn a living on Dartmoor, they weren't exploiting it, they were just trying to survive. You should blame the Royal family because it's them who own the Duchy. Dartmoor 'park' today only looks the way it does thanks to the Georgians and Victorians industry & farming, and The Duchy, for allowing it to be turned into a park.
The Moor towns are slowly turning from proper rural farming towns into middle-class hippy towns, full of posh artesian bakers, Artist studios and candle/wind chime type shops. It's becoming too expensive for locals to buy property too, sadly.

I was born in January 1951, so it is as old as me! I live within the park's boundary.

Didn't see Darwells name on the end credits, funny that.

Coming from Cornwall I’ve often wanted to shoot on Dartmoor but haven’t managed as yet, partly because I thought it was mostly barren hills! But this river walk looks stunning, can you share any info on the area? Understand it you don’t want to. Enjoyed the video.
