The great pioneer recording engineer, Tom Dowd, named Aretha as one of the few musical geniuses for which he had the opportunity to work.
This performance exemplifies her brilliance to me.
Tom Dowd, was in the recording booth for Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers and Led Zeppelin just to name a few legendary Artists, working his magic. All Hail The "Queen".

The Queen of Soul, the indomitable epic Ms. Aretha Louise Franklin, personified and transported gospel into rhythm and blues .....taking her audience to church with all a musical genius that only she could deliver. She was a rarity and an international treasure brilliant singer, piano player, arranger, civil activism, and feminist. I will miss her, but Queen Re Re is praising God with the angelic angels where her music will live on for centuries. Rest in peace Queen of Soul!
