Just realized how cute and adorable her "talking voice" was...and how naughty this song is😁😍😍😍
Yep...gets laryngitis..calls Dr Feelgood
Yep! She was a MESS!
I am really shocked at how dirty this is
Grown folks music!
@@adonaiyah2196 Compared to todays music this is classy and tame. It left something to the imagination.
She played the Hell out of that piano! RIP Queen
Monster!
😮😮😮she took that piano to her daddy's church
I hope that pianobis over eighteen
Ok but seriously did you feel how her piano playing took on an entire life of it's own...so much so she had to remember where she was in the song...SHE'S AN ENTIRE MOOD...Rest easy QUEEN
Yes, yes I did, devilish. It is hard enough to sit and sing. It takes true genius to sit, sing and play.that gospel sound that just makes me break out and sway in a trance EVERY TIME. And to sing like THAT! It is all so effortless for her.
Donchu send me no doctor fill me up with all of them pills.... God, I miss her so much. What a voice. What a lady. What a life. She is lead of all angel vocals now..
Rest in song, beloved Aretha.
Sorry auto correct. DIVALISH!
Would love to see Beyoncé or any other modern pop princess do this..... HA! The Queen rules them all!
Indeed. She was like Nat King Cole when she played. Both were masters of their art forms.
divalish100 she played beautifully
The Queen wasn't playing! Pure genius. Just a phenomenon. ❤
This is a sad day for me. Today she passed away and I am heartbroken. Aretha Franklin has always been my all time favorite singer and I'm only 46. This song, Dr. Feelgood, had been my favorite record since I was 5. Yes, 5. It was on the back of a 45 with Respect on the flip side. It just spoke to me. One of the best days of my life was seeing her at The Apollo about 10 years ago. She asked for requests and I shouted out this song and she chose to sing it. I nearly passed out. LOL Not only that, she threw her earring into the audience directly to me and I caught it. It is one of my most prized possessions. I want to be buried with it. God bless her spirit and may she rest in peace. Thank you Ms. Franklin for everything!
Terria Nesmith I too am heartbroken...I can't shake it....damn she's gone 76 years young...Rest easy QUEEN
Well today this became my favorite Aretha song and Terria Your cool ass story played its part. out of all these comments, Yours was the ONE i stopped on n read. Thank You n RIP Aretha.
Terria Nesmith I also started listening to Aretha’s music as a young girl in the 80’s. By listening to my moms old 45’s I discovered all of her old classics. I’m 42 and her music just touched my soul back then just as much as it does now. The funny thing about it is that I have a cd with a few of her songs on it in the car. When my girls were little they would get in the car and request the cd. It was something else hearing my daughters asking me to play Respcct (Respect) or Jump Jump Jump to it! I played it every time 🙂
They knew good music back then to when they heard it. I can’t believe she is gone, but she is free from pain now. Always remember the music and hold on to that earring 🙂
Tan M Oh I most definitely will.
Oooo Great story to pass down you and the QUEEN OF SOUL connected
Just a beautiful BLACK WOMAN. They don't make women like this anymore. RIP Soul sister Aretha Franklin.
Sadly Ron, you're right. Grace seems to be a lost virtue.
@@angelagilliam1520 very seldom
....a beautiful WOMAN....and a credit to her race, the HUMAN RACE.........
Amen very unique one !!!
Young lady who later became the queen of soul this performance shows why she deserved the title greatness was her destiny
Aretha was already being called the Queen of Soul by the time of this performance. She was first called the “Queen of Soul” when she was still at Columbia Records.
This woman killed this song!
And to think she played by ear and never had (refused to take) piano lessons......her natural level of talent is borderline obscene!
What a class act. A genuinely skilled musician and a true singer's singer. R.I.P Lady of soul.
@Prick, Scumbag College "verge of being obscene" sounds like prince wrote that
WRONG... She grew up as a child with the best jazz and gospel pianists including her mother teaching her. She had that kind of access to these people due to her FAMOUS father. Do your home work. LOL
@@integratedboxingsystem8827 I hear that about other Black musicians too. The fact that someone is innately gifted doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t also trained.
@@integratedboxingsystem8827 But she is still predominantly self taught with no formal training. She was a child genius, like Mozart and could just emulate what she heard.
@@markdrinkwater1508 NOPE... She was taught and groomed.
Genius, Instinctive, Brilliant.....Singing and Playing- what a staggering talent!
The world is poorer without her...
I'm 43 my mom was a big Aretha fan. She was a sentimental favorite of mine. But MAN!!! I really didn't realize how great she was.I I've been looking at her live performances from the 60's and 70's. She was Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Beyoncé all rolled up into 1. Dr. Feelgood is so powerful and sexy. I hope she felt appreciated why she was here.
Incredible how she can be so in sync with playing the piano (SHE AIN'T EVEN LOOKING AT THE KEYS), listening to the band, and singing powerfully with such expressions at the right time all simultaneously and effortlessly. I'd have to do a lot of thinking to carefully listen, look where both my hands are at on the piano keys and try my best to sing with the beat and rhythm
87jello Exactly, haha! I’ve tried to even just play this song like she does and can’t come close. She’s brilliant
She was amazing
It's called GOD-GIVEN Talent!
That is exactly what I was thinking. I thought she would play a bit and stand to sing but no, the queen had to do it all. Sickening I tell you 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.
She literally talked to her fans shared feelings through the lyrics of her music 😭💗 she made everyone feel loved and equal
I wish she did a song that explains how to use the word "literally" correctly.
Rest in Peace Queen! Detroit's Auntie Ree From New Bethel.. The world's Queen of Soul..Heaven's newest Soprano.
Hay-ul YES!
Camille Jamerson she's the entire choir....Rest easy QUEEN
That voice!!! Pure and brilliant just like Ella.
Ella, Nina, Billie and now Aretha.
Don't forget Lady Sarah Vaghn.
Not to diminish her image or legacy in any way for pointing out a negative, but as a long-time smoker this woman could SIIIIIING. That voice was MADE for singing regardless of the long tours, smoking habit, and endless recordings. She used it to it's fullness. Forever a fan! Just something so special about the impact she had on the world when she was alive.
and it lasted too! she could sing for a loooong time
She was our Queen, and live on forever.l don't know that she smoked - but l am sure she wasn't using drugs-Peace
This was in her before-smoking-stole-from-her. Later on, I note that Aretha's voice, although it was good, but it lost what I call a certain "Sparkle". The last album I really enjoyed was the Sparkle album, but her voice was on it's way to a decline. She lost something, some range, that joyful HOLLER as demonstrated on Dr Feelgood.
Aretha gives me the serious chills! Good God Almighty!
no shit, right?!!
P. Alencikas 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
People tend to forget how great a pianist Aretha was. It is just that her vocals overshadowed her other talents.
The unrivaled, "Queen Of Soul" who birthed every soulful female vocalist to come after her.
This is one of the greatest performances I've ever got the pleasure to see in my life.👑
I second that !!!
we are all in the presence of greatness!!
A ONCE IN A LIFETIME TALENT!!!
the world is a little soulless today. thank you miss franklin
amen
Can you say it a little louder for the people in the back?
Yes indeed, and still today and always will be, theQueen is gone on to her heavenly home. Sweet sleep Aretha, the Queen of Soul.
Wow! She was the greatest ... felt every bit of that! R.I.H. Queen.
That piano was an extension of her soul what an amazing woman she was ❤️
this song is setting the record straight. gotta go home
Play that piano, Ree!!! The sound on this is fabulous.
Onlythetruth247 and with such flow, grace & adlibs! Priceless!
OMG......I was not ready especially after that piano intro.....RIP Aretha.....Thank you for setting the bar this high and sharing your incredible music and acting talents with the world. We will Never forget you and amazing performances like this one are the reasons we will cherish your legacy forever:) Dear RUclips.....Please Don’t Ever Remove this clip unless it has to be removed in accordance with the law.
This just makes the soul jump for joy!!!
The best set of pipes that any human being has ever had! and her voice sends me to places that no one else can.
She was, and still is, in a league of her own.
Rest in peace, Queen of Soul. As far as I'm concerned, no one could ever take your crown. You will always live and reign on in the hearts and souls of all of us who love you.
I went to see "Respect" today. Young Aretha needs to win an Oscar. That little girl did a great job.
Omg sung and played like the queen
Aretha truly had the talent dial switched to eleven ......hundred !!
Who doesn't like this video?!? I love it and her speaking voice ❤
This was my favorite Aretha Franklin song. Rest in Love to a queen that we will never forget 💖 she's now singing with Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson
Well, actually, I think they are singing with her.
Now that is why she is the Queen of Soul !
She was and is the greatest lady vocalist we ever had
The Queen.
There's something about her speaking voice that's so enchanting. So graceful. Wonderful woman
I'm in love with the Queen. She fuses sweet blues, soul and woogie boogie. It's a very nice transformation.
A golden voice gone and it will never be forgotten by those who've heard Her down through the years when She was alive, and those who will hear Her now that She's gone. Long live Ms. Aretha Franklin.
Yessssasssss! Queen YESSSSSS!
There are no words for this performance! Maybe just to say it was "Immaculate" from start to finish as only the Queen could do!
This is my mama favorite song Rest In Peace mama ❤️❤️😇❤️
RIP Aretha. I grew up listening to this and other greats she made
Remember this one like it was yesterday. Aretha delivered this so well, and I believe some of it had to do with all the drama she was experiencing in her life during that time.
This wonderful soulful human being really touched the soul of every person in her era she sure did that , mother Aretha was ministering to the kids for years with that blessed voice
REST IN PARADISE

Rest in peace Queen of Soul!!
Aretha had REAL Talent!! One of the few Female Entertainers that could play an instrument and had an incredible voice!! Other than Nina Simone, and from this ERA , NOT classically trained, or Alicia Keys. Even though Aretha and Nina performed similar genres; both were well known internationally. They were superb singers, songwriters, pianists, arrangers, and activists in the Civil Rights Movement. May they both Rest In Peace!!
God bless you Aretha. We're going to be celebrating you a long time.

What a wonderful performance of this song! It's been a one of my favorites since I first heard it as a child. I've never seen this live version until now and WOW - she put it down!
