Why doesn’t apply allow us to make a screen of widgets on your page or lock screen? We can have I think up to 4, like why is it so limiting??
This doesn’t work when you have two large widget, and dragging the widget onto a neighboring screen make the widget you want to stack it on move to the opposite screen.
So, you can’t combine two smart stacks (large or small), but you combine two individual widgets (again, large or small) and even on different pages.
There is a way. Hold your finger on the large widget and take it to the page with the other large widget. Move the large widget to the bottom of the screen till the other large widget that moved to the next page appears back. Then hold that one with another finger and merge them. It worked for me.
How do I make the large widgets smaller?

how to separate them from a stack container?
Tap on the widget within the stack you want to see more options on. A bigger screen will come up with multiple options tap and hold the widget to remove it from the stack. When I try to stack, the widgets make a folder with the two apps in them instead of stacked widgets
