Journal is not in the feedback page yet!! I agree it should have been an iPad app and in iCloud. I’ll continue to use Day One.
Well done Apple for making this app 😎.. simple and allows us to record and write but without showing off via social media to the rest of the world. As humans it’s good to record so we can reflect and remember good times (and bad) down the line.. this app is uncomplicated and just what we need in a digital world where there is too much “over sharing”
Please provide search option now only you have Bookmark option. Suppose after making journal entries everyday, suppose I wanted to find out when I visited a particular place, I need to go through all the 365 entries.
MAKE THIS AVAILABLE FOR IPAD
The ONE thing that this journal lacks are tags! Pretty soon the list gets too long and you'll never find the entry that you are looking for! Tags would help!
Please release this for Mac (and iPad although I don't have one at the moment)!! I switched to Journal as soon as I downloaded iOS 17 beta back in October. I was using Pages before which was good on the Mac but not great on the iPhone... now it's the opposite. I end up opening Notes and writing stuff out on my Mac then pasting it into the journal. I wanted to start using the built in journal app because it was perfect, I was already keeping a diary and an in-built journal app would make perfect sense, but I used and continue to use it in the hope that the Mac app will come out soon. Don't leave me hanging now Apple...
And yes, I could use a third-party app, but I hate ads/being asked to pay and I just like to use features that are built into my products as much as they can!
I like this a lot. I hope that additional features are added, as well as versions for iPad and Mac. I've started migrating old Day One posts and Facebook memories to get off both platforms. I would love to see an "on this day" feature. I went to the Apple feedback site, but Journal isn't yet listed as an app to provide feedback on.
Having it on Mac would be super helpful

I would suggest an “on this day” feature, to be able to create multiple journals, to be able to use on iPad and MacBook, and the ability to export my journal entries.

I would use it more if we had an iPad version
This should be accessible on other devices.
I hope this gets better. Right now it's just useless and buggy. When I open it, for some reason it's already on compose mode suggesting what I can write. I have 3 entries of the same stuff because of this. There's also no way to search. So years from now if you wanna see your entry from a long time ago, you'd need to scroll until your thumb hurts.

Why can’t we search text within the Journal app? I needed to revisit an entry and had to manually go through all the dates.

That's not much enough for me.
Because it has a set limitation of photos.. if i add more it will not give permission..
Love, love, love the Journal! I was excited to hear it announced, and anticipated its release. I've made an entry at least once a day since it launched last month. One concern though, I've noticed that though it prompts for an entry me with my workout suggestions, if my workout is a hike/long walk, the step count displayed on the Journal app suggestion is way off.
My Apple Watch and my iPhone's fitness app both display the correct steps count, but the journal app displays a step count much lower than the actual count from the workout; off by at least ten thousand steps. Not sure why this is, but it appears to be a glitch. To be clear, other workouts display stats correctly, it's just that any workout that includes a long distance walk does not display the correct step count. Other than this, I love the app. I hope to see improvements and additional features added. So far, it's fun to have and interact with daily.

Hey Apple I have an issue with the app. my text is always on Bold. Even when I try Format and change text it goes back to Bold so frustrating. my entries are like a giant title

Good idea, but I need it linked to contacts.
If I’m making notes about my mom, co-worker or a friend I would like to go to my mom’s in contacts and make those kind of notes.
Thor notes you have in contacts now keeps jumping up to the top of my notes.

The Journal app prioritizes privacy by encrypting entries when your iPhone is passcode-locked. You can even add an extra layer of security with secondary authentication using Face ID or Touch ID.

Is anyone else having issues scheduling a journal notification?? Everytime I try to schedule it says I need to turn in my notifications, but looking at my notification, everything should be on?? I’m not sure what to do..

My mother likes the app but I deleted it I just don’t think I’ll have time for something like this unfortunately 🤷♂️
Not very versatile, bordering on useless at this stage. No search functionality? Why? Can’t imagine sorting through even 10 entries by scrolling and reviewing titles. Even the basic Notes has this capability. And Notes allows searchable hashtags. What’s up with this? Beta?
Oh, and it’s glitchy. Cursor bounces to bottom when trying to insert / add or correct text.
