Best advice my old man gave me when I was a kid, avoid talking about sex, money and politics with people and you will be able to get along with everyone.
I taught public speaking (high school and college) 35 years. I would describe your podcasts as a type of public speaking, but really public conversations. I personally love what you have on Clear Hot for that informality and directness! Now Ironclad, more formalized often….not always…to me is information-gathering interviewing (as opposed to job interviews). As a former teacher, I viewed myself often as a non parent guide who students treated as a life coach (I swear informal shrink, depending on the student disclosure….a role I was very cautious about….that legal “in loco parentis” standing in place of parent fine line legally). My point is being a “life coach” can be a role others put you in, even when you try to avoid it. If you are, I think you do it very responsibly, honestly, sensitively….for what it’s worth.
The discussion of a parent passing took me back 20 years ago...to when my own mother was admitted into the ICU I was working in at the time and shortly there after passed. Stay strong ...although its hard to even give meaning to that in those times.
My mom died of cancer. She said she took painful medication for a long time not because she feared death or just wanted to be alive , but because she said she was nosy and wanted to know what everybody was up to.
You are quite wise and thought provoking. I like your ability to see both sides of a situation. We seem to be in a world where many folks have lost that ability. It is sad because it stymies conversation.
Yes , Sir be more closer and be friends with your kids as far as you can and try to be responsible and in which time they are going they really need you , I think because that is my exeperience
23:00 ish talking about parents and kids.. I believe you said it or Joe Rogan said it.. We grow up watching our parents grow up.. Andy I love your Friday episodes Thank you for another great one .. Cheers 🥂
I look forward to these discussions every Friday. Currently driving to go fly fish the big horn river. Hope everyone who sees this has a good day. You got this shit.
I remember a time when Andy had black hair and a clean shave. .....I also remember a time when I had hair actual and clean shave. We age like a fine salt & pepper wine my brother. May the Father continue to watch over you and your house. Shalom
My brother (50) had Down syndrome. He passed rather unexpectedly on August 6, 2024. My mother was diagnosed with stage four cancer in January. She passed on August 31,2024. We all lived in the same home and they were literally my job. (I was employed as direct support/caretaker for my brother. He was on a vent at night that had to be monitored.) So I lost my brother, mother, & job all within a month. However after my brother’s passing I guess I was just in zombie mode. Because I don’t remember those three weeks afterwards. I don’t think I snapped out of it until one day my mother wasn’t looking too good. An I instantly remembered Andy telling the story about coming into the hospital and seeing his mom and knowing by how she looked that it was coming and it was coming soon! 😔 I knew in that moment exactly what he meant. So I called the ambulance and got her to the hospital, it only got her about four more days. However she was able to come home for hospice and pass away peacefully. I just want to thank Andy and everyone who share their stories, thoughts, feelings, & experiences. Especially on subjects like this. Because honestly I don’t even know how or where to begin when it comes to dealing with so many different emotions. Let alone just life itself and everything that comes with it! I can’t deal with feelings right now because there’s so many “paperwork” type things that HAVE to be handled. But these stories along with Andy’s perspective really do help so many of us at least begin to cope. ♥️🙏
Andy Stumpf, the marketer: “Yeah so we got this fuckin thing here…” **chucks it** “and then we got this other fuckin thing here… whatever”. **chucks it** “Buy it. Don’t buy it. I don’t really give a shit. Okay, back to business”
I really wanna go back to the days when politicians didn't have fan clubs. Idolizing a politician is like believing that the stripper likes you. People need to get a friggin grip.
Can we just focus on whats most important? What candidate will give Israel the most support? We already paid for their border wall and their iron dome, but cant we do more for them?
I wonder if the person who wrote about his family pushing him to say he is voting for ever tries to get those same relatives or others to become religious
Andy , Jokco , David ---- may be their personality are different but which is no different that they are former Navy Seals , highly trained and tough guys

Boring tho lol
@@Darius10thPnah. Avoiding conflict is peaceful, not boring.
Add religion to that list, also.
If you get along with everyone, you're doing something wrong. Especially in modernity.
Would like to add something, stop watching the news

Trumps behaviour at Arlington? Crickets?
Have you considered that this episode was filmed before that happened?
Yup, the ai thumbnail gets more horrifying the closer you look at it.
It really can’t do people that well, especially hands.
@@ClearedHotPodcast Maybe buying a sick new flannel will heal my inside scars from that thing.
Nice scruff.
I didn’t realize that the Amish did podcasts.
Is there a point of being spread out too thin? Hope you can interview some old timers with humor!

Christanity is Greatest religion in my point of view
In my point of view , Donald Trump is a great American president
