Good to hear that the general was in the same operation I was as a private medic. I was an Australian soldier and served with the yanks and the Brits on Operation Provide Comfort. I’m looking at my certificate of appreciation signed and delivered by Lieutenant General John M. Shalikashvili. The yanks were the best of allies, great soldiers, professional and so welcoming to their equipment poor cousins the Australians. The US Military provided us with air cover and Pepsi.

What an Awesome guy. Work ethic is the best thing a parent can teach you. I worked hard in our family bustiness, an old peoples home, that we built from scratch , my single mum and myself, after being homeless for 4 years before that. She bought a run down old boarding house, with a little bit of money she got in an inheritance after her father died. She looked after two patients as we slowly re painted and cleaned up the property. I worked 7 days a week, before and after school and at the weekends, it was 24/7 and I worked extremely hard, while my friends were off to the beach and parties! I hated it at the time, but it taught me so much and I wouldn’t change a thing. We built that business into a successful 30 bed residence, with mum retiring a millionaire. But it wasn’t about the money, it was about making the residences last years comfortable and happy. That was the pay off. ❤

Black-belts also have levels called degrees. First degree Black-belt, Second degree black-belt and so on..., I'm not sure exactly but a black-belt who has only just received their black-belt is a first level black-belt... Then after training as black belt for whatever the required years is they become a 1st degree Black, then require so many years training as a 1st degree there is 2nd degree, 3rd, etc, etc.

What a Leader. The manner in which he clearly describes the mistake setting conditions for fratricide at Shah Wali Kowt speaks volumes toward his character as a Leader. This is a Man who could lead as a Statesman rather than a politician. Most of those holding positions of power today are only politicians. Politicians make decisions with an eye towards the next election. A Statesman makes decisions for the good of generations to come.

When the General says he thought the brain/mental injuries from war was weakness (before he changed his view) is sad cause that is still a viewpoint many have.
The best way I have heard it is explained is thus:
When you break your arm, shatter it, no one in this world expects you to be able to treat that injury by yourself. You see a Doctor and specialists help you heal that injury.
When your mind is similarly injured, it would be insanity to expect someone to heal and treat that injury by themselves. It is on par with asking someone to set and treat a shattered arm. You need a specialist.

The town of Epping canceled the Memorial Day parade this year and my buddy/fellow veteran said “pound sand” and hosted a parade and ceremony after. I ran the firing party and General Bolduc was one of the speakers. Great man! I went up to shake his hand and thank him he gave me a hug, talked to my boys, was very respectful and pleasant saying hi to my wife. His wife was sweet. We need a man like this in office. He’s not afraid to tell it how it is.

@@joshh8833 That's outstanding! I live over in Hooksett area and the only parades I'm aware of are in Concord. When all is said and done, there will always be a bond amongst military men and women. This podcast is good publicity for him and I think he will have NH in the bag.

To me, we were living in the innocence at that time of our history. Then reality became of a way of life AND in our faces. We had just recently had the infinite ego boost of shield/Storm. My alert came in Aug for shield. 3/14 4th Marines. That was done and then I was out. It didn't feel finished! I had unfinished business and re-upped in 28th ID. That January came a red border letter. No OUTS. Time for unfinished business.

paradoxically cutting your pace down to half is more difficult the longer your legs happen to be. Puting the breaks on a pendulum with a sweat filled boot at the bottom is no joke and takes more energy the further one falls behind thier natural gate.

It's insane to me the targeting device defaults grid location to your own location for targeting bombs. WHY would that be the case. Default should be do nothing / null location or some place in the ocean..
