    Weird to have one rule for naia terminal 1 and another for all the rest. What happen if you dont fill it out before arriving? Confused about what they mean with goods, do they mean the value of the shirt im wearing? Also why ask when i last departure from philippines, if that is 10 yrs ago, it could be hard to know the exact date.

    Hi Jocelyn - I'm new to your channel. I was planning to bring 8 cans of mosquito aerosol bug spray. Are these allowed in PI? If not, how hard is it to find these products, specifically the Cutter Backyard brands.

    Thanks for the video. Is it 10,000 pesos per person in the family? I just don’t understand how some families come back with items for sure over 10k pesos of pasalubong and it’s fine.

    Hello,
    I would like clarification on the customs clearance of goods/items for strictly personal use of a foreigner with a 9a visa to the Philippines who is going to see his Filipino girlfriend. I have hiking items (used) worth no more than 10,000 php each. Does the Php10,000 amount apply to the total contents of my backpack or to each item separately ?
    I don't see that it says " total value " in section 423 of the CMTA but I'd like to be sure.
    Thank you

    Hi Jocelyne. I'm a U.S. citizen and I am coming to the Philippines on March 1 and leaving on March 22. My question is concerning bringing in prescription drugs. They will be in their bottles and labeled as to what they are. It's my understanding that I will need a letter from my doctor verifying that I am taking these medications what they are used for. Also, I will be bringing with me my CPAP machine because I have sleep apnea. Just want to make sure that I am in compliance. Thank you!

    Hello Jocelyne. Thank you for your always very useful work. During my last stay in the Philippines (Sept-Oct 2022), I had filled out the two forms (paper and digital) not knowing that the digital version was dedicated to Terminal 1 of NAIA (Arrived at T3). In both cases, I am always confused about the materials to declare. On certain headings, it is clear: beyond personal use or non-commercial use. I'm taking a backpack of professional photo equipment with me... Which section is concerned? Should I declare knowing that the value exceeds 10KUSD? Until now, I declared by specifying in a handwritten way the personal use and the exit of the material at the end of my stay. I have never been bothered by customs. What is the rule ?

    • @AdventuresinAmericaUSA1
      @AdventuresinAmericaUSA1  Год назад

      For me regardless of amount as long as it is for personal use.

    • @andrewinmanila

      A big problem is that the declaration form only exempts goods below 10,000 php, not 10,000 usd but 10k php is only about $185 (per current exchange rate). How is anyone supposed to travel with goods worth less than $185? Any camera, phone, appliance, shoes, laptop, clothing, or gifts etc. that exceed $185 have to be declared and therefore taxed? Just a nice set of suitcases alone can cost more than this. And nowhere on the form or website is there any exemption for personal use (for non-Filipinos). If a foreigner brings a laptop/phone/camera, gifts etc. above $185 he will be taxed? This is absurd especially with increased inflation. At NAIA 1 I saw someone get taxed for bringing a computer so I spoke with a customs official at NAIA terminal 1 who said it depends on the "value" of the computer. I asked how "value" is determined and he said it's by the purchase price or if it's new/used and that "value" is determined on-the-spot by the customs official which is an entirely subjective process. The "value" of your item will change from official to official. "Total amount of goods purchased and/or acquired abroad?" So does this apply to tourists also or just residents?

    Edit: Not literally tons, about 30 chocolates and other stuffs (4-5 kilos)
