- Hi everyone!
In this tutorial, I will show you my approach to making hair cards in Blender, using the new Hair System with Geometry Nodes and the addon Hair Tool.
this is not a step-by-step or beginner tutorial, but I hope it gives you an overview of the workflow that you can adjust to your needs.

Yes, I would like a slow step by step tutorial please. Thank you
Thanks for making this video. Very cool character!
Thanks so much! Thank you for making the Hair Tool, I have been using for years now!
I bought the hair tool ages ago and couldn't find a good tutorial to help me understand how to use it! Although this is fast, your explanation gives me so much more context as I've done these steps over and over but the weight painting part is what I couldn't get down! I'm excited to try again! :)
Thanks! I'm planning to do a step by step tutorial soon 😊
I think the character looks really good with the hair like this. Nice!:)
Thanks!
hey dani great results , looking forward to see the process in detail
Thanks!!
Love it a slow step by step would be great as well!
Hi! im thinking on streaming it live so you guys can come and ask questions as well...
Thanks a lot. The result is impressive. Definitely would give it a try
Thanks!!
A step by step tutorial would be great.
Ok! Thanks for sharing!
pretty nice tutorial, I would love a more in depth specially for curly hair
It is really good tutorial! 👏🥳I would definitely like to see more in-depth info about how it is done. And more tutorials how to create character and animations 🙌
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you so much. ❤❤
Awesome tutorial. A bit quick sometimes but it is still clear. Do you perhaps have a higher res version so you can read the interface? That would greatly help.
Hi! thanks! unfortunately i don't, but i'm planning to do a step by step tutorial so I will try to show better the UI 😉
Great video thank you! Do you find this is better for performance in viewport please? As the old method of hair with particle systems used to have massive slowdown and become really sluggish!!
Thanks!! In my case, the performance is good, but I have a powerful machine; if you struggle with the performance, you can always adjust the density of the hair, and once you are happy with the final result, you can crank it up… if you are going to convert it to hair cards, you don’t a crazy amount of density anyway…
Te quedó muy bien.
Muchas gracias!!
Hey, Dani. I'm following the tutorial but I'm having problem weight painting. I have done my weight painting and have it as a vertex group, but 'Interpolate Hair Curves' could not seem to find the vertex group? I dont know what else I'm missing. Hope you can help. Great tutorial by the way!
Thanks! Did you select the scalp or mesh that contains the vertex group in the ‘surface’ slot? That could be the problem…
Hey, could you do a tutorial on how to get game ready hair for characters with short hair? I have read that hair shells is the way to go. I am talking about very short military bootcamp style haircut. Similar to my avatar photo. Maybe I just use really short hair cards? I just want to see the process, but cannot find any good tutorials on this. All the tutorials on hair cards I have seen use really long hair and cards and I don't think I would be able to get good results like this. Or if you can refer me to a resource. Thanks.
Hi! Usually it’s a combination of hair cards and textures… I can try to make a video or even better do a live stream and we can see the best ways to achieve it 😉
What is this add-on called please tell me
You have the name and link in the description. Thanks!
Love the effort and the quality.
But this is not a tutorial, this is a demo/instructions manual for a paid add-on.
Wtf😂
