From an old bloke it's good to see you out with your daughter I loved it with my kids but one day they go there own way but they never forget, memories,,thanks
+Sophie louise Thanks for watching. My daughter is 15 years old now and hasn't been very interested in going camping with me recently. She has decided to join the Army so it looks like she will be back out with me again and we'll have a summer of adventure to get her fit and ready to join up.
Really enjoyable. As my friend and outdoors partner said: It's nice to be out with your daughter and to see she enjoys being outside. The weather treated you well it looked, which gave us something pleasant to gaze upon also Dean. Good to see and hear of the river Dove. I find the source of such places powerful. Cool vid...
I'm hoping to find the time to do a 2 or 3 day walk from the source of the river Dove to where it meets the river Trent, I've done that with the river Derwent but fancy doing it again too. Thanks for watching mate
Pleasure Dean. The high hills and mountains a great but of course have the forests, woods and vales. Look forward to the river walk...we've done a fair few ourselves and they lead us to some pretty cool places. All the best.
A great video. 👍 I love Axe Edge Moor, Cheeks Hill and Danebower. Had some great walks around there, winter and summer. Can't beat Flash Bar Stores for it's good and drink. 👍 Meant to comment on the last video, I like the change in the signature tune. Enough to keep the original format while making a pleasant change.
Thanks for sharing your adventures, I enjoy watching and learning very informative and interesting and fun. I'll get back out there soon and have some adventures of my own , thanks again and keep up the great videos
Thanks for watching, I really enjoy making the videos so I'll come them coming. Heading out again next late week so should have another again soon. All the best
That's great I look forward to the next one think I've watched most of your videos now, new born daughter keeps me up and I watch your videos to keep me going. ;)
Have your thought of doing some fly fishing (catch, keep, eat) during your adventures? I can see myself now riding the adv bike to the wilderness, pitching a tent, casting a fly, and eating some fish while watching the sun set.
Catching up on your vids after being on the road for a bit. As the father of two daughters, it was great to see you and Amy out in the Peaks together. Don't worry, another switch goes off about age 25 and they revert to "normal." Enjoy the next 12 years!
Hi Dean, been off work ill for the last couple of days and pretty watched all your Peaks videos. Fantastic... Thanks for keeping me sane. On the back pain front. I used to suffer a lot as i do loads of cycling on a road bike. I can confirm that yoga help me beyond belief. As you like the great outdoors i think you will also like the non physical side of yoga as well.
It always amazes me that the highest village in the UK is on our doorstep lol! you positioned yourself perfectly for a panoramic sweep Dean, really interesting location, you know your way around mate, I'm planning a camp next to the winking man at some point, not too far from there. Good to see your daughter out enjoying it as well mate, lovely timelapse :) Tim
Thanks for watching Tim, really loved your Chrome Hill video. The aerial footage was stunning and the weather looked amazing. I spent most of my night on this trip looking down at Chrome etc, I fancy a bivvy up there this summer perhaps. My daughter really enjoyed this outing, she isn't a fan of big hills with a bag on her back so it was a good compromise. Thanks for watching mate
Vegan layabout You should definitely head back to the Peak District again soon. I can't get enough of the place so i'm very thankful that it's on my doorstep. thanks for watching
Good video Dean, enjoyed watching. I too am suffering from lower back pain, as of last few years. Only when camping though, normal beds are fine. Let me know if you've found a solution! I wake after a few hours now when camping which takes the shine off to a degree.
+MCM Outdoor Show Hi mate, thanks for watching. thankfully I managed to find a solution to my back pain. I tried visiting a Chiropractor but that didn't really do anything. I gave Yoga a try, I found a few good videos that are targeted specifically at relieving back pain and after just one session I was 100 times better. I do Yoga a few times a week now and I feel like a new man afterwards :-)
Quality time with the Daughter priceless, dragging Aimee out of her tent hilarious i'm going to try that one myself lol. Thanks to you both for sharing. ATB Dave
Really nice video Dean . Liking the part where you pulled Amy out of her tent . I'm planning on heading to the Peak District area this year . The Lake District is my usual walking/camping ground . You've got some stunning scenery your way - Looking forward to getting out into it myself . Thanks for the video you put up .
The head torch, when using flash in photography we use the inverse square law that for every metre away it becomes a quarter power, so pretty much doubt that in daylight anybody would see it at a distance.
+Norman Butler I don't think I really thought it through at the time :-) Seemed pretty obvious to me when I was editing the video and remember doing a bit of research at the time. thanks for watching Norman
Great video, Dean. All your vids make me want to get out and walk/camp! Great that your daughter chooses to get out and about, make the most of it while it lasts!
I've started watching your videos and I'm a huge fan, I love camping in the Peak District and I love hiking axe edge moor and shining tor especially . Keep up the great videos 👍🏻
Brill video Dean, I stayed in exactly the same point just last weekend, just missed you by a few days it seems! Had to wear earplugs because of those infernal grouse getting giddy on occasion in the middle of the night! The exos bags are awesome, I got an exos 46 over 2 years ago and never looked back.
Another really nice video. Really pleased to hear you saying nice things about the Exos since I've a 38 on order, slightly surprised you committed the sin of running out of coffee though. :D
Excellent vid Dean, only recently found your channel thanks to barkingbadger1. Really enjoying watching so far mate, especailly the peak district ones. Atb Andy
Thanks for watching Andy, also thanks for heading over from BB's video to my channel. I'll be back out in the Peaks more now I'm back from Australia so will have more videos coming soon. ATB
+Darren Bush it was a really great night out but it does seem like a lifetime ago now :-) need to drag my daughter out again soon before she is too old to want to hang around with me haha. Thanks for watching Darren
Lovely video,,, what views from Axe Edge, hard going over boggy ground,,, can't blame Amie for taking the road,,, lovely shots as always many thanks for sharing your hike ,,,, much appreciated ,,,,,,,, Alan
Hi Julie. I saw a chiropractor for months and that didn't help... The moment I started doing yoga it cleared straight away. I don't have any issues anymore thankfully as I do yoga every now and then to keep the pain away. Thanks for watching :-)
Dean Good to see you are back after what looked like a wonderful time around Asia. Just watched your last two films, great stuff once again. Have you any plans regarding walking in the Lake District this year?
Thanks for watching Andy, it's great to be back out walking in the Peaks again after Asia trip.... Not so great being back at work but I guess it's rough with the smooth. No concrete plans as yet to head up to the Lakes but once no doubt I'll be up at some point, I'm pretty much booked up at the minute for the next few months with fun stuff but hopefully I'll have a 4 day window to get up and tick off some more wainwright perhaps June time
Hi Dean. Great video. Ref your lower back pain. Have you tried going to an Osteopath. I go every three months because I used to suffer with my back. No back pain once he straightend me out. Apparently I was leaning over to the right. I go whether I need to or not.
Hi Dean, great vid as always. Might be taking one of my larger friends ( limited walking for him ) to camp on Axe Edge in a couple of weeks. Can you recommend any other spots to camp with not much climbing or walking ?
Hi mate just wondering how you went about wild camping here. Was hoping to camp there soon, will go towards the end of the day and leave at 5am. Will this be allowed do you presume? This’ll be my first time wild camping so I’m not sure on the laws n such:) Got a 2 man tent and will go with a friend. Got absolutely no intention on having a fire or drinks purely for stargazing and mountain biking unlike most people my age haha. Thanks for any advice.
Hi Jamo. As you probably know wild camping isn't strictly allowed in most parts England. I've never had any issues myself. I always camp out of site of roads and buildings, I try and be as stealth as possible. I always follow the leave not trace principles and never leave any signs that i've been there when I pack away. Have fun 👍😎
The factory as you call it used to be the RAF station at Harpur Hill during the WWII and the amunition tunnels were then used for growing mushrooms. It is now mainly the H&S executive explosion test area. They did lots of work there following the London tube fire.
The highest village in Britain is Wanlockhead, at 1532 feet, Flash is a close second at 1519 feet. But Flash is close to Flash Bottom, so Flash wins out in fairly rude names !
go get an ultrasound it could be a cyst on your kidney ;) also great videos ... have you ever seen any wild non domestic cats on your travels? ... i saw one between cleobury mortimer and bridgenorth ... put me off the whole wild camping / soloing :(
I've so herd of Cat & Fiddle Dean Sorry but what are them Boxes for @ 05:00 12:24 cant falt you Amy living of Tikka :) Love the Sunrise Whats the Bird at 17:16 Dean???? Pain in your lower back could be your kidneys. I like to sleep in a cold room at night and would sometimes wake up with lower back pain. I spoke to someone and they said it was my kidneys getting a chill. I don't know how much truth there was in that though.
I only really get the pain after laying down, it goes when I get up and stretch after 10-15 mins or so. I'm going to start doing some Yoga again and see if that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting, I'll keep that in mind too
I understand why it’s called that, I’ve always trusted the OS map. In this case, my map was wrong. the latest version of the map has now been corrected. Happy to be flogged in public for my sins 😂
Hi dean get yourself to a chiropractor for you back before you pop a disc and get yourself some omega 3 6 9 oil tablets trust me I left it to long and ruptured a disc and you don't want that 😒

What a lovely camping trip with you and your daughter. A few hours shared together and a lifetime of remembering. Hope you have many many more.

I love the areas you camp in. Spent a lot of time walking there in my youth. I must come and revisit the place. Nice video, as always.

Alright Dean. Great video of you and your daughter. Which do you prefer, 'the glorious peaks' or the treasures of asia?
are the moors marshy ? wet? we do not have that here in New York where we reside ....... looked comfortable to sleep on
The moors are marshy and wet all year round so it makes it interesting sometimes trying to find a dry path across them :-)
Hi Dean, great vid as always. Might be taking one of my larger friends ( limited walking for him ) to camp on Axe Edge in a couple of weeks. Can you recommend any other spots to camp with not much climbing or walking ?
