brilliant as always young lady, three shires head is epic i would recommend it to any one, hmm good view of shutlinsloe thats one tough hill to get up, brings a shiver to my spine every time i see it lol.
Well done! Not only for the great video, and for braving the dip - but also for successfully visiting Three Shires Head with absolutely no-one else around at all - you must have been up and out incredibly early!
Truly beautiful diverse scenery and wildlife not to mention your almost constant companions the gorgeous sheep. You are so brave to jump into that cold water, if it’s less than 70 degrees F there’s no way I would attempt it. Thank you for taking us along on your great walks, it’s always a wonderful adventure. 🙏🏻🥰
Another wonderful film Mary with beautiful camerawork throughout. You are so lucky to live close to these areas, Northern England has some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. The scene at 2:43 was absolutely adorable, where the lamb gently laid it's head on it's mothers back. The sheep are now co-stars in many of your videos! All the best and looking forward to your next adventure.
You're certainly showing off the most beautiful hiking areas of England, I've always stayed in the urban southern area. Surprisingly wild, too, in a pasture-ish kind of way.
That looks like a lovely walk beautifully filmed as usual. I don't know that part of the Peaks at all, I must give it a try. That swimming hole is amazing, I wouldn't have gone in though, the water's always freezing!
Now Yes Mary a mini waterfall, but the sun 🌞? Uai, but wait for this plantation that you showed, it reminds you of the cabbage leaf. Much used in feijoada in Brazil
Well you certainly got yourself a fanclub with all those sheep! 😂 Glad you enjoyed Three Shires Head. It's a lovely spot, isn't it? Well done for taking that swim! A lovely walk and well filmed as usual Mary. Have a great week. Cheers, Patrick 👍
I know, can't believe there haven't been any Mary had a little lamb comments yet 😂 They had just been fed so were a noisy bunch! Thanks for the lovely comments Patrick 😊
I’ve walked along the river Dane but a little further down. I have seen Three Shires on line but never gone there. I’ll have to do it before I get too old 🙃
Mary, having known from my youth what a wild swim is and having not seen any videos from you for a long time and just in case you descended into the RUclips moral abyss, I sent all of the children out of the room - the youngest being 29 years old. I must say, a young man would do well to offer his labor to that farmer for seven years time in exchange for his ugliest daughter and a few one tooth sheep to be able to reside in that countryside. From beginning to end the back drop was fabulous and the sheep looked quite pleased to have a guest enter their world for an afternoon.
That comment made me chuckle Scott - so funny 😂 I can't see me ever descending into that abyss - although they do seem to get so many more views than my little videos🤔 No, I do believe being nice and proper without swearing or being too revealing will eventually pay off - it just takes a bit longer 😂
Is all of England that beautiful, or are you just really good at finding the most beautiful spots? This was a nice combination of inspiring views and really serene scenery -- plus the constant supply of endearing animals. I know it takes a lot of hard work to make a video seem so peaceful. I can always feel my blood pressure going down when I watch. Thanks!
There are some parts a lot less picturesque, but the countryside does tend to be beautiful. I've never shown any cities and very rarely any towns as it's not my thing, but they certainly don't look like my videos. I'm so glad you find my videos relaxing, thank you for your wonderful feedback ☺️
I'm totally hooked on the UK's beautiful countrysides. Gorgeous hike, lovely hiker. Thank you for sharing, Mary. Take good care. (How's Derek? Didn't see him on this hike.)
Love Three Shires Head (or Three Shire Heads, take your pick!). You were lucky to get it to yourself. Incidentally, there always seems to be a weird pronunciation of places with long names. For Wildboarclough it is apparently proper to say "Wilber-cluff" :)
It was certainly worth getting up early for - I think as I was leaving I passed at least another 6 heading there. I never knew that about the pronunciation - thanks!
Hi Mr Andy! I've done a video all about it so I hope this helps answer your questions; GARMIN INREACH EXPLORER+ REVIEW: ruclips.net/video/fe7Qx_cbE1k/видео.html
Another really good video , did this walk many years ago . Please excuse my ignorance, but is that a GPS you have on your jacket , i was thinking of investing in one myself , but wasn’t precisely sure how they work , do they pretty much work like a satnav for hikers or do you need to use them in conjunction with a map or do you possibly even require professional instruction on there use ? If you have already covered this in a video please let me know because I am playing catch-up! 😅
Thank you so much Lamb Kin! Yes it was a GPS and I would recommend using it with a map not on it's own. Here is the video I did on it which I hope answers your questions in more details... ruclips.net/video/fe7Qx_cbE1k/видео.html
Hey Mary, beautiful hike and the sheep were adorable. I see your videos and all this beautiful land and I was wondering if you have to be concerned with anything like wolfs, bears, lions, snakes, poison oak or Ivey, ticks or is it just hiking without any worries? I'm in California and I love hiking and backpacking but I have to keep my eye out for all kinds of things that could want to harm me, they rarely do but I still have to keep it in mind. Just curious.
Hi Mike, no it's all quite tame here compared to California. I remember having to be be prepared for all your dangers when I hiked the PCT and it made me realise how straight forward the UK is! The main problems here are ticks and midges!
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures you should do a video of you shivering post swim to show the aftermath. I would love to see that. Great video though!! Thank you for replying!
My mom is from the Wakefield area. She now lives in Washington state. She will be 96 on Tuesday. She really loved this video. Thank you!
I hope your Mum had a wonderful birthday 🥳 Thanks so much for letting me know she enjoyed the video, I really appreciate that ☺️

Yes it was incredibly early 😆
Thank you for sharing your beautiful country with us. It is absolutely gorgeous. Blessings
And thank you for your constant support Betty Jo, I appreciate it so much and I am so happy you enjoy the adventures 😊
So lovely, I'm beginning to think that the Peak District is truly a slice of heaven. Young sheep and polar bear plunges. Thanks Tink!
It really is lovely Keith 😊
Great video, Mary. Loved the history lesson and the music. And yes, you are bonkers !
Thanks Tom 🤪😂
Beautiful Mary and that dip looked very refreshing!! 😁😁 love the towel 👍🏻
Thank you so much 😊
Thanks for such a beautiful vid. I needed uplifting today. You are a Sun Beam
You are so welcome ☀️
I've seen map bandana before but have not seen a map towel. Brilliant!
Great isn't it! Perfect for anyone who likes hiking/walking or just being outdoors. Now, off I go to look at the map bandanas I hadn't heard of!!! 😂

Thank you very much Anita 😊 Yes I am starting to wonder if I am in fact a sheep whisperer 😆
I’v been planning on visiting the 3 shires waterfall. You’ve inspired me to take my swimming shorts. Thank you 😎
Have fun!
Beautiful.

So glad you enjoyed it ☺️

It really was lovely!
What a lovely video, thanks for sharing

What a wonderful landscape! You walked through quite a variety of weather too. As usual your filming and editing made the video a joy to watch.

Those cold water crossings on the PCT must have readied you for that wild swim! A beautiful trail today. Thanks for taking us with you. 🌈🦋
You got that right 😂🥶
Great video. Those sheep made my Day 😅 all together making those noises (sorry, don't know the English word for that)
Thank you so much - they were certainly a noisy bunch 🤣

Beautiful hike mary, you got a little wild in that cold water, that was a cool dip! 😊🧚🏻
Thanks so much James - it was pretty cold🥶 but a lot of fun!

Thanks so much Rick!
Brrr. Brrrr! Nice vid.

You sure are good at capturing the beauty of the areas you walk in. 👍I also have the feeling that the wildlife knows you are vegan. 😋🙂
Thank you so very much Brian, I sometimes wonder that too! 😊💚
Was you out in peaks Saturday I'm sure I was talking to you
No it wasn't - I was eating platefuls of carbs at home the day before my marathon 😆 Hope you had a wonderful day!
Hello, can you tell me a bit about your hiking sat nav please? Battery life and model ect would be great to hear. Thank you.

How long does it take to get there from the nearest car park want to take the kids on monday
how far is the three shires head from the nearest car park/road?
Is there anywhere to camp nearby?
Were you shivering at all?
Absolutely 🥶 That jogging along the trail wasn't just for the camera - I was doing it afterwards for about 5mins to get the feeling in my legs back 😂
