Oh lord, tell me about it. Ever since the children left my house is not a home. My daughter has just married a woman and I am trying my best dear lord to have patience and compassion for their choices. My son came out as gay in 2002 and shacked up with a gentleman who he now runs a restaurant with. Each Friday night he wears a wig and sings to the customers. My husband saw him do this and ripped that wig off and threw it into the street. It was awful. Anyway, two gay children and no chance of grandchildren. This recipe really was delicious. Glad you enjoyed it. My husband threatened to throw the cake over my son and his partner if he sees them dressing that way again. I tried to tell him it was just a performance and just for fun but I feel very much in the middle

Thanks for this recipe! I can’t cook for two, I have thrown out so much food. It goes in the containers with the red lids, and sits in the fridge for a couple days and we eat it again for leftovers ( I’m so great full for my “eat everything” husband. It's just me and my daughter so I am always looking for small recipes. I haven't had texas sheet cake in many years. I absolutely love watching you especially since I don't live very far from you. I need to go back to your video of making batches of seasoning mixes in the mason jars.

There's only me in my house, but I still make full sized things. I divide what I made, say a full size Texas Sheetcake into 4 sections, then put the full cake in it's pan in the freezer just long enough for it to get hard. Wrap each section individually in saran wrap and a plastic freezer bag. Then put the sections back in the freezer for later. That way you have made 4 "cakes" in the time it takes to make just one! Like the old saying goes, "Work smarter, not harder!"🥰
Thank you! It's passed time that you cooks recognized that small batch cooking is needed. I like to eat well and love to cook but the recipes I find online are for so many. It's even too much to freeze cause I'd be eating it for months. I like leftovers but not that much...lol.
A wonderful recipe and perfect for those of us who are widows who don't have a house full to feed. Only ourselves and an occasional visit from friends. The ingredients are things most folks who do any cooking at all will have on hand. This is just perfect! Thank you 😊❤

The big debate over Texas Sheet Cake is whether or not to add cinnamon to the batter. Most of us born and bred Texans agree you need that little bit of cinnamon for a TRUE Texas Sheet cake. Either way it is one of the best cake recipes ever! Thanks for downsizing it.
I grew up with this recipe as well and raised my kids on it. Now it’s my 4 granddaughters’ favorite and ask for it for their birthdays. But since they aren’t local anymore, my husband and I would never think of giving up our favorite cake, so I am more than happy that you made this recipe for 2 people, you have saved us many, many calories and extra inches!😂 Please continue sharing some of the old fashioned dishes, while making them for 2.
I am drooling over this gorgeous creation. It isn't something we get here in UK so will have to try it out. Fortunately all the ingredients are what I would keep anyway. I hope it makes me dance like Mr. Brown as well. Thank you for your lovely videos.
Chocolate cake AND a dance lesson. You can’t beat that! 😂 We love this cake, but a full sheet cake is huge. I have halved the recipe, but this size is even better. Thank you!

Thank you, Mrs Lori - Yes, please, a new series on cooking for 2 people would be great ❤ Especially with our economy causing everything to go up weekly . I've started saving more money & making more meals . I love my grandmother who lived through the depression and my dad raised me and taught me how to garden , can meals, fish, sew etc... I then taught my children how to still live a beautiful life but not above their means . God bless you & Mr.Brown Mrs josette Montgomery County, Texas ❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 loved the dancing 😊
Made this recipe today and it turned out great and tastes so good! It’s a perfect size for me and my husband and have some leftovers for another day but not an abundance of the dessert that we just can’t eat it all. Delicious, easy to make, and perfect for two. Will definitely make this again - it really satisfied my husbands chocolate craving! Thank you!

Oh Ms. Lori the fun and laughter you must have with Mr. Brown! What a beautiful couple you two are, not to mention a great cook knows the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. 🤣
I’d appreciate more recipes for main dishes, sides, desserts for 2! We eat leftovers and enjoy those so when I make a regular menu item, we freeze some in a portion for future meal. We would like to see some other smaller quantity items.Thx. Susan
We make the whole cake and it's not enough 😂. But this small cake thing is a good idea.. this cake is the most delicious chocolate cake I have EVER had
I have never heard of this kind of cake but it sure looks delicious. I will have to try it. I am really glad you took the time to share this. I am looking forward to seeing more recipes for two. Thank you Miss Lori.
I’m watching you while cooking for my work family. Every couple months I like to treat them because they work hard and deserve something special. I’m making cheesecake bites, cookie bars, peach cobbler, cinnamon roll cake & blueberry muffins. What you’re making looks really good! I’ll have to add this to the my list of things to make 💞
Fantastic! Every once in a while I’d like to make a dessert, but I’m a party of one (my nest is completely empty), so this is just the ticket. Mr. Brown and I are cut from the same cloth! Not only do we share the same birthday, we also share a love of tacos…..my favorite food 😊
I grew up on homemade Chocolate cake n Homemade Chocolate Iceing! My Mama n Grandmaws never used box mixes or can frostings. Everything was made from scratch! Here in the mtns of Georgia, there's all kinds of old recipes that somebody's Granny or Aunt, or Mama just threw together and they turned out to be some of the best food or dessert you could eat. I wish I could cook n bake like i used to. I get so hungry for good old home cooking. I'm gonna have to get one of my Granddaughters or daughter in law to make this for me. I'm just no able anymore! Thank you Miss Lori. Mr Brown had Happy deer didn't he? Lol. I love y'all... God Bless 🙏❤
About 40 years ago Mom got a recipe she called "saucepan cake" from an Oregon friend that looks exactly like your Texas sheet cake. Thank you so much for the smaller recipe. I've been yearning for a piece of old fashioned oatmeal cake, and haven't made it because it's just me. I might try quartering a full recipe, and see what happens.😊
I live in Iowa, and I have an identical recipe and we call it Buttermilk Brownies.😆 I have tweaked the recipe to kick it up a notch by using dark cocoa powder & espresso or stiff coffee in place of the water. So gooooood!
I am a retired school teacher ... so I well know this cake! Always a treat when someone made it for Teachers Lounge. It holds many memories for me through the years ... lots of homemade vanilla ice cream... Birthdays. I have a ton of tiny cake recipes I have collected through the years! I love them all!
You hit the nail on the head. It's just me and sometimes my adult grandson. I love Texas sheetcake! It makes sooo much...Tex sheetcake for 2, yes! And you've adapted more recipes, I'm hooked! Thank you!!! 💜
So glad I saw this! I think for our family I'll double it in a 9x13. We all LOVE Texas sheet cake, but I'm from Texas & my recipe is for a whole sheet pan & that's a lot! lol I knew Mr Brown was fixin to bust out in a dance, how can ya not dance while eating Texas sheet cake! Hugs to both y'all from Texas!
The recipe I use for Texas sheet cake has sour cream. Try adding about 2 large tablespoons of sour cream to this while heating the butter, cocoa, and water. Makes it moist. Extra good
I love this cake. What a great recipe for a small group of people. Mr. Brown thinks it’s foot stomping good. God bless you and Mr. Brown and your family.
Yeppers, cooking for just 2 is hard. I have to cut up a cake and freeze it to not have waste. Been eating the same lemon cake for almost a month now! Be blessed 🙏
Miss Lori, we have been empty nesters for nearly 10 years but I still cook for an army. Actually, I am doing a little bit better, but it's really hard to change how you cook. I'd love to hear more of your down-sized recipes. Thanks so much.
YES! Cooking for TWO, since my daughter & 5 year old Kenai are moving out in 2 weeks and moving to Wyoming (😭😭). I've enjoyed cooking up a storm for our family since they've been here these past 6 1/2 months. I will be making this soon! Love you both. Next time, add your bare feet to the dance floor, Lori 😉👍🏻😁 Aloha from Searcy. XOXO
This is a family favorite. I add 1/4 tsp. Cinnamom to the batter. I also poke more holes in the cake so the icing melts into it. Yummy stuff here in Texas.
Just lost my husband and I still love to cook and eat! Thanks for thinking of us and puttin ‘ up some recipes in small portions! God bless and angeles watch over!

I’d appreciate more recipes for main dishes, sides, desserts for 2! We eat leftovers and enjoy those so when I make a regular menu item, we freeze some in a portion for future meal. We would like to see some other smaller quantity items.Thx. Susan
Absolutely adore you two! I lost my mom and dad and y’all remind me so much of them!
We make the whole cake and it's not enough 😂. But this small cake thing is a good idea.. this cake is the most delicious chocolate cake I have EVER had
Thank you, need more recipes for two. Years ago, there was a box called Snack n cake. Perfect for two.
I’ll have to add this to the my list of things to make 💞
Oh my goodness Ms Katrina….I want to stop over your house!!!!😂
@@KT-yq7ed come on by. I love feeding people 💞
@@katrinaDS i wish i was a co worker there! Yumm sounds good and oh what a sweet thoughtful person you are to bring treats for co workers!
Hilarious, Mr Brown! You've got the moves!!! That must be some great cake! God bless!
What a delight seeing Mr. Brown dance over your Texas cake for two 🤩⭐️
That tiny sheet cake looks delcious!!💕 PS: Nice foot work Mr. Brown!
My Big Mama called it Chocolate Fudgy Cake. It is SO good. So glad to see a “for two” version.
❤...yes more small batch cooking for two recipes ❤
Yes it’s worth dancing for! Thank you.
Thank you! Just what we need because husband is a diabetic and I’m not. I have to hide my treats!
You hit the nail on the head. It's just me and sometimes my adult grandson. I love Texas sheetcake! It makes sooo much...Tex sheetcake for 2, yes! And you've adapted more recipes, I'm hooked! Thank you!!! 💜
Canadian here and never heard of Texas sheet cake, Can't wait to try it. Thanks
Yes you can double, and it still won't be so much
This is the best, quickest, cake I have ever made. Thank you so much Ms. Lori!!!❤❤❤❤❤ your channel
My Mom made this often and it has always been one of my family’s favorites. You just can’t beat it!
YEEP PEE !!!!! Love this …. For two old duffers to enjoy !!! Thank you Miss Lori !!
More recipes for TWO. !!!!!!! 🤪😆😍. HIT IT , MR BROWN !! 💕
This is good looking! Glad you are talking of doing recipes for two. It’s difficult after cooking for a family to know how to downsize foods!
Such a great idea! Living alone, it make perfect sense!
The recipe I use for Texas sheet cake has sour cream. Try adding about 2 large tablespoons of sour cream to this while heating the butter, cocoa, and water. Makes it moist. Extra good
Per my request, my momma makes this for my birthday cake and will add a little cinnamon to the cake...puts it over the top..lol, I am 60....
I love this cake. What a great recipe for a small group of people. Mr. Brown thinks it’s foot stomping good. God bless you and Mr. Brown and your family.
I know what a blup blup is 😂
Yeppers, cooking for just 2 is hard. I have to cut up a cake and freeze it to not have waste. Been eating the same lemon cake for almost a month now!
Be blessed 🙏
Love the cake AND PA dancing. Awesome, thank you
My Mom is in a home now at 92 years old. Now my husband and I are cooking for 2 now. Boy what a difference. Lv and Prayers to all.
Hurry up Y’all, I am hungry! haha. We get hungry up here in Huntsville, Texas.
XOXO
YEA HAW THERE'S THE DANCE😅....LOVE IT...THE CAKE LOOKED DELICIOUS 😋....THANKS FOR SHARING 😊
Hello from KY love you and your channel and your family ❤️.Miss Lorie I made your cake for two for dinner tonight and Girl,it is delicious.Thank you for making it❤.
Yummmmm. Thank you for sharing. You and Mr Brown are adorable!
Tried your cake tonight, I did ntast the batter b/4 baking and yor are right it is very good. Same with the icing. Will wait until it cools.
The cake was very good just hard to get out of the pie plate, next time will grease and flour it as the spray did not work.
It's so relaxing watching someone actually cook...from scratch with real ingredients...there are so many videos out there...where people just throw together premade cake mixes and other distasteful ingredients...you are skilled in the art of cooking..and that cake for two looks so delicious . I could actually smell it coming out of the oven!
