I can't thank you enough for this video, and for you, Shelly, being willing to be so vulnerable. What a blessing you are to many. I used to serve you in the Dining common at Bob Jones back in 1975-76. You and Ron were always such a blessing to me. You were the only staff who came through the line and smiled at me. You would even speak to me and made me feel like my job was important and that I was loved. My kids grew up listening to Patch the Pirate. We've been missionaries in Thailand for 35 years and you, in no small part, made that possible. Thank you!
I am tears as I listen to this interview. Suffering from depression , Panic attacks, anorexia and chronic pain for such a long time. I listen to the song " You are always Good" over and over. Thank you Shelly for sharing such hard trials that your family is going through. i feel very encouraged.
Wow thank you Shelly for being willing to speak about this on camera. I had no idea the trials your family went through. I will be praying for you as you now grieve the death of Ron. You are a sweet servant of the most high God. I pray that God would bless your service to Him.
You did not owe us by opening up like you did... but thank you so much for doing so. My love and prayers are with you and your family! Your impact on my and my family's lives will only really be known in Heaven.
40 years ago on the first day of rehearsal our choir director told us about a remarkable young man who had lost his eye to cancer and how God was using this person’s trials and musical talents to spread God’s truth and love to all. He then handed out our copies of “Rejoice in the Lord.” It was the first song we learned as a traveling gospel choir and remained our theme throughout that year. Quite often one of us was in tears as we sang as there was always “something” going on in our young lives. My children loved many of the story-song cassettes and sang many of the praise songs for specials. Now my grandchildren are fans and love listening in the car as we drive back and forth between homes. I have a video of my 3 year old grandson singing his heart out with “I Belong to the King.” Thank you, Shelley, for sharing your heart and your grief with us. I remember watching the funeral service for your son, John, and grieving for you and Ron and your other family members. I marveled at how you played the piano for that service. I have never met or seen you or your family but I feel connected through your ministry and love for God. Your “Back to Bach” Christmas record is a favorite and gets played every season. My mother passed away last fall and one of her favorite hymns was “It Will be Worth it All when we see Jesus.” She was also an amazing pianist/accompanist. She played “Cherish the Moment” for my Girl Scout troop to sing at our Mother-Daughter banquet. There wasn’t a dry eye! I will pray for you that God would just lift you up when you need it most. Again, thank you for sharing so much over so many years!
thank you for making this amazing testimony of God's grace available for the world to see. The Hamiltons have had a huge impact on the lives of my children as well as my husband and me. We are blessed to see how their lives have and continue to honor God.
Thank you so much for your encouraging testimony Shelly! Rin's music has always helped me through many difficult times in my life. I pray God will continue to use you and bless you for everything you have done to serve him! I thank Jesus for your ministry!
This second interview with Shelly Hamilton was touching, and was an encouragement to me, as a long time friend to her and her family. I pray that God will give her grace and strength to endure the trials ahead, and that through her testimony, many will hearts will be blessed and encouraged. Rhonda Eaton

So thankful for Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hamilton and their influence for good and for GOD over these many years...first, my children, now my grandchildren...I am in amazement at all these years of ministry and how they have helped our family. I'm sure many have come to Christ through this ministry. Also, the Garlock's, "Language of Music" has influenced our family greatly! Praise to the Lord! I have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated Part I and II of Triumph in Tragedy. Shelly, I think you and Ron may have known my brother, Roger Buchanan. He is with the Lord now, but was a music professor at BJU for several years.

I do believe they were right (amongst other things) when they were saying that Jonathan is encouraging her from Heaven, saying 'Go, mom go!'
That is not biblical, the Bible tells us that the dead know not what is going on on earth.
Patch the pirate passed away April 19th 2023 at the age of 73.
