Just think, Noah, Ham, Shem and Japheth had their very hands on the wood of this structure... amazing. God and His word do not lie.

I used to work in a wood shop as a hobby so I know a little bit about processes using power tools, saws, sanders, planes, etc. The ark has always been mind boggling to consider. All the work, no electricity, board after board, joinery, and so absolutely massive to withstand the floods while carrying the rebirth of the world within. Awe inspiring!

If it is Noah's Ark, wonderful! But people who abide in Christ don't need this as evidence to believe. WE BELIEVE!

Im a woodworker. The joinery and crafted pieces I can see in the pics is spot on. It is definitely a giant boat! The joinery is the same joinery a 'traditional' boat builder (builds boats by hand the old world way) would use today.

Fascinating. I have never been a Christian or religious at that. Only because it's hard to believe without answers. Some of the stories of the bible I defiantely slowly starting to believe. I know we all have a higher power and something greater above us all. To wonder about the history of this earth is amazing.

The woodwork is amazing, these techniques are still utilized today in furniture construction, flooring and fencing. I saw tongue and groove, mortise&tenon, dowel and no sign of nails or screws, but, however, no signs of an adhesive either. If it was all force fit then swelled with water, that is just amazing craftsmanship!

Has the wood ever been carbon dated? Also , has the wood been analyzed for the type of wood it is?

  • @Yankeeprepperasshat

Samples of wood, animal dung, feathers, fur, even human DNA samples can be obtained. They should study the age and origin of the wood and inspect the joints for tooling marks. Also, the dirty ice should be sampled for any organic matter. This can be done for free and tested at any university worth it’s salt for almost free. Why hasn’t this been done?

I was skeptical about the Bible. I thought it was just stories written by men to make us believe.
    Noah's ark.
I thought it was just stories written by men to make us believe.
Today I realize that there is a lot of truth in this Bible written by men who believe in God.
Today I realize that it was not just stories and there is a lot of truth in these writings.

Lots of comments say wood looks too new. It was gopher wood similar to Rhodesian Teak. Super Hard wood impervious to bugs, water, and decay. Plus Noah spent 100 years building it and Noah was huge. People were larger before the flood due to atmospheric and genetic conditions so he perfected this ship. Imagine no video games, music, pathetic 40 hour work weak. Just straight preaching and building for what equates to a whole of one of our lifetimes. And he had 3 sons with the same strength and fortitude. Looks legit.

God shows proof to the disbelievers who will still deny. I watched the close ups of the beams and pictured Noah hand drilling and chiseling all that joinery. It was so perfect. Truly amazing to watch and see our history just as told in the Bible. Glory be to God and great job Noah!

Did anybody notice how large the growth rings are from the trees used in its construction (look at 5:51), trees back then grew very rapidly judging by the width of the tree rings. This means they would have had plenty of new trees to use as they constructed the Ark.

I realize it's been encased in ice for thousands of years (if this is really it) but I still wonder, how that wood can be in as good a condition as it is after all this time, even in the cold and ice. There's still bound to be some deterioration right?

I know people don't want to investigate further because they don't want to risk facing the Bible being real. But this is HISTORY! There needs to be a full investigation to figure out if this really is the Ark of Noah or not. Even as a Christian, I don't believe this is the Ark just based on some videos, I want to see a full excavation.

This is utterly amazing. I do wish they'd had better equipment, and taken some samples for dating and simple verification. The Bible calls the wood the ark was made from "gopher wood". What was that? If this is the ark we could know! Also be nice to get some radar in there, do some scans, and then start real archeology on it. The site would be challenging, but doable. Assuming the Turkish government lets such a thing proceed.

This is amazing footage of the Ark. Forty five years ago I was in a bible school and one of the brilliant teachers told us that in the end days an earthquake would dislodge the Ark from the mountain. It will slide down the mountain for all the world to see the Truth. I can hardly wait for that. You are so brave to venture into such a massive structure like this and thank you for bringing this evidence.

It is interesting to note how thick the tree rings are. These trees were seeing a great mix of sun and water to stay this uniform in size and magnitude. IF it is the genuine article, which seems likely, it would seem that we might want to proceed with caution.
The natural tendency is to melt it clean and see what there is. HOWEVER, this would be a rash decision. Many times we have discovered that when we try to excavate something like this, it turns out that what it is encased in is actually the only thing holding it together. Bring up a salt water item and watch it crumble to dust when it dries out. Expose a mummy and it crumbles to dust. Sometimes leaving the item in place is the only recourse.
Secondly, if it is determined to be genuine, it may turn into a tourist trap as many of the faithful come to see the wonder. I am all for letting people get closer to their faith, but it wouldn't be hard for charlatans to make and sell fake fragments of the Ark - or worse yet, actual fragments of the Ark. There are many other ways to deceive the faithful in this situation but I do no want to be giving anyone ideas or suggestions.
Third, 14,000 feet is not a safe altitude for many of the faithful and it might literally cause deaths. Not to mention the hazardous path to get to where it is located. Many people are simply not up to the challenge and would need to be frequently rescued.
I have seen other videos of this location and it does certainly present many compelling aspects that make it a likely candidate for being the Biblical Ark.
I look forward to future updates on this topic.
    Thank you.

When wood samples from decades-past expeditions were carbon dated, the findings were to be around 5000 years old and of middle eastern origin, but were discredited and mocked, just as they would be today. The hardened of heart and narrow of mind will never hear (or see) the truth.

It sounded real and this video pops up years later and I still believe it. Even if this is not the Arc, it is a fascinating piece of human history. The big question is why does the Turkish government make it so hard to explore and study? Egypt does the same thing especially in areas that relate to the bible. I believe its because governments know the truth and want to hide it. But with technology rapidly advancing, they wont be able to keep these secrets much longer. With that said, lets face it, the location, the size, the shape. I would be surprised if it was NOT Noah's Arc.

Respect for the person Ron Wyatt, but there's no relation between the two sites. Please check out the scientific article considering Ron Wyatts site: noahsarksearch.com/AvciMurat/TelcekerEarthFlow.pdf
The Formation and Mechanisms of the Great Telçeker Earthflow
Which Also Crept Noah’s Ark!, Mount Ararat, Eastern Turkey.
This article has been presented during the "First International Symposium of Mount Ararat and Noah's Ark" 2005, Dogubayazit, Turkey, under auspicien of Prof. Oktay Belli.

Some of the wood looks like it had been machined instead of hand worked. Alot more scientific study and testing is definitely needed

I agree, there needs to be carbon dating of the wood! Also the outside of the boat should still have the pitch on it that Jehovah God told them to apply.

  • @lizardwrangle
    @lizardwrangle 6 лет назад +276

Any studies done on the wood? I notice this wood is still wood, while the wood at the site of the Ark has black pitch or varnish on it and has become petrified. This wood may not be as old.

Some ship designs depend on water infiltration. The water gets into the wood and swells it, causing the joints to tighten. Plus, the interiors would not be covered with pitch, only the exterior.

    • @deezydame
      @deezydame 6 лет назад +27

It only has half the necessary elements to become petrified. To become petrified it would need to be buried (check) and would need to have ground water flow through it (not check). Without the flow of mineral rich ground water, or very little flow as it is frozen most of the time, the process of petrification can not occur.

It would help to get a piece of the wood for testing. The wood used was called gopher wood which is not known in modern world. A sample would show the age of the thing, could show an unknown species of tree. If they did not gather samples for testing then this would probably be a fake.

Regardless of whether this is the actual "Noah's Ark", the fact that there is actually a large ancient water craft sitting thousands of meters up on a mountain side and is connected to that story... well, it makes it almost criminal to not recover it before it is totally destroyed.
This is an ideal possible international project. If the Turkish government can give permission for that exploration, then they also have recovery authority too. This might also be an ideal time to do it as a balm for religious differences. Both Muslims and Christians have Noah in their tradition, but this "ark" predates either religion. Turkey could build an entire internationally recognized museum around this object, just as one was built for Caligula's pleasure barges in the 1930's. It had best be done before the religious extremists have a chance to destroy it as they have so many other valuable ancient sites.

    From your source:
"Wood from the structure carbon dates to about 2800 BC, fitting the biblical era of Noah’s Flood according to chronology in Genesis 5."
In what peer reviewed scientific journal was the dating results published?
" Hull is covered with a dark substance like the pitch on the Ark (Gen. 6:14)."
Pretty easy to test so the same question: where were the testing results published?
    ....hop to it

Clearly it's evident that there are wooden beams that have mortis and tenon joinery. Looks like hand hewn barn beams to me. As to whether these are the same construction methods used 4500-5000 years ago in the time of Noah is an entirely different story. You'd think that visual evidence such as this would be enough for maritime archeologists to debunk the possibility that this is an ancient sea vessel.

If this is truly Noah's Ark, and I am _not saying it isn't_ then why has it not been excavated, and preserved? It has to be the single greatest archeological, and biblical find of all times.

I think local conflict and war; plus being covered in snow and ice hidden from view for this long. I believe once scientist can verify this as the real "Noah's ark" then efforts will be made to preserve the site and the remains.

From a scientific point of view, did they retrieve a small piece of wood for carbon dating. We know what happened after Noah's adventure, but we don't know how long ago it happened (scientifically). We can then separate the time before flood from the time after flood.
