That looks really great. Jay looks like he is walking in pain, everything ok? Yes I am loving the nice cool weather. I say bring on the cold weather and the pumpkin pie!!!!!
Hi you two You may not have all the t's crossed and the I's dotted. But you have a piece of paradise that's awesome. Good idea doing the gable in clear plastic. I'm not one to flip on a light every time I walk into a room If there's enough light coming through the window and it's enough for me to see what I'm doing. No flipping the switch. I'm glad you've got a system for getting your water moved around. Sorry Jen I had to laugh when you were trying to get a good shot of Jay and the chainsaw and you got covered in sawdust 😂 As always another enjoyable video. Stay safe Hope you get everything done that's needed before winter. We've finally dropped to the 70's here in northeast Missouri
CLEAR GABLE END........👍great idea......saving power on lights is a good thing........hey guys, jump in that hot tub, take a break, rejuvenate yourself.....remember all work and no play..... cheers
This was very enjoyable to watch. Just living life at your own pace! Looks like before long the cold weather will set in. I would use that hot tub as long as I could. See y'all this weekend! 😁 JB
Great job on keeping the hot tub clean and useable. It really helps relaxing at the end of the day. Smart move on the clear panels for the pole barn. It will be perfect come Maple Syrup time in the spring. Stay safe my friends.
Nice with the clear poly! We used that stuff on the roof of one of our outhouses. Daytime light with a solar powered light for nighttime. Perfect! We'll see how it works in the winter though! lol!
Cool.....I know many have used it like you on the roofs and had good luck with it.....I would make the roof a little slanted though so the snow slides off. Lol
Love your video's on the hot tub sounds like you and Jen have it all figured out. Oh and your getting much better on the ladders .sounds like you have a lot of fun builds coming up. Outdoor showers are awesome just the smell of being outdoors is good enough for me. Can't wait to see more stuff.
The clear poly is a great idea. As well as the extra light and keeping rain out it will be great in winter when you get one of those swirling snow storms!
I think you did a great job on the pole barn Jay, it’s certainly transformed the area, around the cabin has changed a lot since l started watching you guys, it looks beautiful, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Hey Jay and Jen, excellent video. Seems like we all got unfinished projects. And if yours are 90 percent then that’s pretty darn good. Thanks much for the videos, sometimes they are pretty funny!
Excellent work on the barn it will keep the snow out for sure and give you some light very nice where was scout in the video I seen timber what beautiful puppy 🐶 I really like Jen shirt with the picture of the cabin on it I wish I could get one … here from Ontario Canada ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦😎
When we started, that's exactly what we did with our water with the notable exception that it was before IBC tanks existed... oh, we also used 12v pumps and gravity for everything, i liked them because they were completely interchangeable which worked the best at the time, if one system failed, i could borrow one from another system but mostly because we only had 12v. Anyway, your barn is great, it is collecting water and keeping your stuff dry as intended
I had an idea that you could put plastic tubing in the raised areas of your pole barn roof and pump warm air through it from a wood stove heat exchanger and a fan to melt the snow for a water source.
Good job :) maybe you can next year put a couple solar panels on roof of barn and put lights inside it :) or just stay in the cabin when its dark out lol keep plugging away my friend
The covers on the tanks will hold in the heat if u electric blanket the tanks. Not a bed blanket. An engine blanket. On really cold nights u should blanket the truck engine as well.
Since u have the solar power, u could always get an electric engine block warmer that's pretty weatherproof and keep ur water tanks from freezing. I know ur tight with the bucks, but, these should b pretty cheap. Something to look into.
Wen your cutting plastic or vinal use a skill saw , but turn the bade around so that it is cutting oppsite of the norma direction and you wont have any burs or cracking .
They are more poplar than before, but salt water pools and hot tubs are not not as they seem. They actually use a generator to convert the salt you put into the water into a regulated amount of chlorine.....so the water is not actually salty like you would imagine it being....like the ocean. It simply uses salt to make chlorine to sanitize and kill bacteria. On top of that the generator to do so is quite expensive. 😊
I get 15-20 degrees an hour with this on demand heater. The tub only holds 200 gallons of water so that helps it heat quickly. We turn it on at dinner time and it is ready by dark a couple hours later.....no tending to a fire required.
@@OffgridwithJayandJen thanks for the info. We have an off grid in northern Wisconsin Part time right now. Month or 2 at a time. Next year we're going for 6 months. We have an inflatable hot tub we're bringing with us and we're going to heat it with a on demand as well. Thanks for the info.
@razor1sharp awsome.....should work great....just make sure the pipes and fittings can handle the heat of the water and you should be good. I know I plumbed all mine in pex line, the heated water entering the tub is HOT....but works very well. 😊
Looks like you both need a break from doing chores as this video was a little luck lustre and not up to the standard of late, wishing you both health and happiness

Great idea of using transparent panels to take advantage of natural light, that hot tub looks so good.
Great idea. Natural light. Keep weather out. Good job. Thanks for sharing
You guys are busy bees! Everything looks awesome! Love ya guys!💕💕❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾
That looks really great. Jay looks like he is walking in pain, everything ok? Yes I am loving the nice cool weather. I say bring on the cold weather and the pumpkin pie!!!!!
Hey Maria....all is good, think I was just having a moment, lol
Great idea. Little by little, lookin' good.

Hey Jim....thanks for being here and the lovely comment....love it
You are building for you not someone else. Perfect for its purpose.
CLEAR GABLE END........👍great idea......saving power on lights is a good thing........hey guys, jump in that hot tub, take a break, rejuvenate yourself.....remember all work and no play..... cheers
Who cares if things aren't perfect, as long as rain stays out.
Great source of light !!!
I think the Pole Barn looks great and adding the clear sheeting is perfect!
Thank you my friend
You guys are rock stars! Such a coooool idea. Brilliant as well to use natural light for lighting in your building!
I The pole barn is a great storage shelter and work shop. I say it looks perfect enough. 🙂👍🇨🇦
I think so too 😊👍
Great idea for using natural light!

Tolle Arbeit geleistet und richtig schön gemacht 👏🏻👍🙂🙋♂️🇩🇪
Love your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and Jen working on the pole shed
Thank you! You too!
Great idea with the clear poly. Things are really coming together. Always looking forward to seeing new videos.

The clear are a good addition to the barn. You did a good job fitting it all together.
We like your hair longer Jay. Your barn looks awesome!!! God bless you both. ❤️
Thanks so much!!
Jay and Jen you are doing a great job. I was wondering if you were going to cover those ends. Another task completed.

Yeah, it's got a bit of a slant but not sure it will keep the snow off! We'll have to keep on top of it. :)
Clear siding on pole barn should work great. Nice you guys are getting cooler weather
I'm in Florida and air conditioner running day and night.
Love the clear panels on the pole barn it looks really good guys!! I am looking forward to seeing the leaves change for sure...sorry Jen
Lol.....I won't tell her you said that, lol
great idea on the gable end for the pole barn. another great video. keep um coming

We just got back from Michigan and it was cool but vigorating. We loved it.

Our shirts are all on bonfire and they should ship to Canada. Check the description box for a link! Thanks for watching

Turned put good. Jay I'm too just get it done. You can't square w a round pole. 😂😂
Jays custom carpentry !!! I like it .. hope you guys are doing well , keep on keeping on
Thanks, you too buddy
Looks good to me!! Now your tools won't get wet!❤
Thanks for showing this I’m thinking of getting some of that clear plastic for greenhouse.
I was pretty happy with it. Easy to work with for sure

Good stuff
Nice job, looks good 👍
Nice job Jay👍
Thanks 👍
Nice sweet work 😊
Hi well done no rain inside xx
A sunua during winter is great don’t u think, once you have a covered sunua is even greater.
Great idea.😀
Keep up the great videos guys
Hi guys. Hope all is well.😊
That turned out great!
Thanks
daaaang u guys get a lot of rain !
hi, you should put a 1x4'' board back of the clear plastic sheets.
Another great one walking asking with you are you do “ finish up work”… Love your tee shirt Jason 👍
😊😊😊
Flat nails work well for the bottom.drip trim, and then the screw heads aren't in the way for the plastic sheets
Looks good
Looks good!
Thanks Lisa =)
16:30 All you are missing is a weather vane on top
Good job :) maybe you can next year put a couple solar panels on roof of barn and put lights inside it :) or just stay in the cabin when its dark out lol keep plugging away my friend
😊👍
Don’t sweat the lack of carpentry skills, everything looks great! I’m just like you, know just enough to be dangerous 😂
Ha...😊👍
rain I bet you need it!

If you get tired of cleaning the filter on your pump you should switch to a sand filter. I switched to that on my pool and way less maintenance
Cool.....makes sense
Why were you limping Jason ? The light gable looks good , I think the hot tub would be nice on a cooler night 🍂🍂
Thanks Garaldine....im ok, just had a busy day.
Smart
hard to be square when you work with rounds. I just can't imagine why LOL. as long as its covered its good
😀👍
Looks great! Is your solar tracker still working well?
It is working well how we use it....I actually have a video coming out soon with some solar updates and upgrades so keep nn eye out for that
Looks good you guys ❤
Any thoughts on barn doors
Still thinking up ideas
I'm curious... How will you keep your water tanks from freezing up in the winter?
We will have to drain them and go back to roughing it for a few cold months
Any thoughts on somehow insulating hot tub to save on propane?
I have some ideas.....but it will likely need to be winterized in a couple months for the winter.....just no way to heat it 24/7 off grid
I don’t think you need a hair cut. I think it looks better a little long. Just need to trim a little off the bangs .
Salt water hot tubs are gaining in popularity for several reasons, but I think they have to have a different system than chlorine.
They are more poplar than before, but salt water pools and hot tubs are not not as they seem. Jay would a sauna be better? I still like your videos
Maybe
Hey Jay, how long does it take to heat up your tub?
I get 15-20 degrees an hour with this on demand heater. The tub only holds 200 gallons of water so that helps it heat quickly. We turn it on at dinner time and it is ready by dark a couple hours later.....no tending to a fire required.

In a round world why is being square so important ,if it works it’s good
Lol....I try man.....I try lol
After everything is done ,what's you're next move?
Funny.....everything done...LOL
Why not fill in that open triangle so someone doesn't mistakenly step through eyeing Jose Quervo! Hinge it so can gain access.
???
