Have em ring the Shed company . BOOM .
Tax? Isn't farm building material exempt from tax where you're at?
This is so much cheaper than quotes I get in oklahoma.........Oklahoma..........
Did the same company do your slab and EVERYTHING ? maybe I need to segregate some of the work. I also see no spray foam. That's Def making my quotes a lot more......thank you for vid.
@@johnjohnson1997I didn't see a slab. This looks like it went down on gravel!
I'm in OK, as well, curious to see what the costs are here.
We built a 40x60 x14 pole barn last year. Additional items that I badly underestimated were utilities. We were too far from the nearest utility service so had to add $$$. The County Health department had to spec and approve an all new septic system because it wasn't near another hookup... more $$$. And then there was the water well, which (after my cost induced coma from the other items) actually was not that bad. Adding in all the concrete work gave my wife lifetime shopping privileges because I got "the barn".
In the middle stages of our 40X60X16 and I can reaffirm everything you said. The utilities add up in a hurry leading to a "cost indued coma".
AMEN to the added cost of infrastructure building. I also plumbed in propane to our shop. All total for electrical, gas, well, septic, and propane was about $84K extra, and that was just getting electrical to my property. Luckily, I became a RUclips expert and wired my entire shop to save money and even passed inspection with flying colors. 🤣😂
When you bust open the doors and have your first barn Dance my wife and I would love an invite, that's what we suspect "The Barn" is for.
Upstate NY. 32x40x12 built June 2021. $30,000 for structure with 2 -10x10 insulated garage doors, 1 man door and 2 windows. Concrete 5" $5700. 3" closed cell spray foam walls and roof $9200. still working on OSB walls inside. luckily got when OSB was $14 sheet now $48 sheet. Have all materials to finish. Completed underground electric and barn wiring self. All in approximately $51,000
You use Pioneer as well or someone else. I'm in upstate NY and taking quotes now.
That is super cheap. That pole barn with that much work in N.C. would be over $78,000. That's me doing all electric. Spray foam alone would be $15,000 and concrete 5" would be $10,000. Building and grading would be $55,000. Total $80,000.00 Guess things are cheaper in Upstate NY.
Thats a good price for the rise in materials. I had mine built last year and quoted earlier in year. Mine was $72,034 for a 80'x50'x14'h + 15'x40' leanto off back in same colors but I got charcoal wainscoating, went with 8x8 posts and 26g metal as i am doing a Barndo here in eastern TN. I also had 12 extra 8x8 inside posts and (2) 12'hx16'w Garage door openings, (3) 12'h x 8'w Garage door openings, a 60x80 backdoor opening and a single man door. They also took 4 full days of work to finish
That’s awesome!!!! There are definitely a few things that I’d love to add, but I know we have a lifetime to do it!
I pour barns in Ohio that’s an amazing price
Who did you use for the build? I’m in northern AL

Thank you for this information. For what it’s worth to your Pacific Northwest, specifically North Idaho, viewers, I built a 40’X60’X18’ pole barn for $68K. I have 1 man door, one 14’X14’ roll up door, six 4’X3’ windows, one 3’X2’ window, and a 6” slab with 2 1/2”thick X 3’ deep foam border around the perimeter of the slab. Best wishes for the completion of your pole barn.
How much was everything without the concrete?

What company did you use I’m in eastern Washington looking for one to be built
Thanks for making a video that is direct and to the point and covers everything in 10 minutes.
Other people would have made this a 40 minute video or more and I don't watch them.
Thank you sharing Kaylee. I know the Pole barn video, people were asking you the questions. At least they have a starting point. All things are variable when it comes to construction projects.
They definitely were asking and I felt like the best way was to just share and help somebody else out who might be wanting to build their barn.
4:28 for the big reveal - but worth a watch to understand what's in vs out.
Thanks for being so transparent. We are also putting some simple smaller building for our place using our lumber that we mill on wood mizer, but we still need doors, windows, and metal roofing but doing the electrical with a friend to barter some lumber. Love the barn and the color thanks again t,
What a beautiful building! I built a 36' x 48' with 12' side wall post frame mostly by myself last year, and am still insulating, running propane lines, etc. on the inside. We went with a black roof, wainscot and doors with barn red. You are correct about the colors. A lot more black and dark blue buildings are going up in the countryside these days! I wish we could have built as big as you did, but we are up on a ridge above the Mississippi River, and had to install a 10k concrete block retaining wall just to get as big as we did 🥴 Fitting out the interior is costing a fortune - especially wit prices going thru the roof like they are, but we are saving big bucks by doing almost all the work ourselves. 😊
Great stuff Kaylee. Beautiful building. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Bruce
Seems like a steel metal building is cheaper, Louisiana 50x60 with concrete $60k doing slot of building yourself
Would one side of the roof be a good candidate for Solar panels? It could be a good way to provide most of the buildings power. Just a though. Keep up the good work!
$70k without the concrete? You got scammed.
Last year...I built a strong all pressured treated framing 20'x20' x 7'high pole barn/shed for cattle....for $800. I'm just a poor retired farmer.
That’s awesome!! We plan to build one as well in my bottom pasture!
Bet you dont owe any money on that $800 tho. Good on you sir
I Built one of these myself and it took me almost 3 years solo. I would like to know your total cost though. The costs after the structure is up. Concrete floor. 5" in your weather I would imagine. Plumbing-sewer-water etc. Electricity, Wiring the entire building with sockets, lights, fans. etc. 120v and 240v (including power poles etc.) insulation, drywall... etc, etc. etc. My building (about the same size) was close to $50k plus 10K for concrete and the rest, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, trim and also the entire floor covered in an epoxy finish.. total cost was a bit over $100K. This included creating a She Shed for my wife at one end, the last 24".
Great video. I also had pioneer build my 40x40x14’4” pole building on 3/1/22 in black and charcoal with metal pan ceiling and blown insulation 2 windows 1 man door and 2-12’ framed garage openings. No concrete. Built in 3 days for $42,000. They were the cheap part😂. We installed radiant heat4 1/2” slab spray foam the walls framed walls and white metal panels, gutters cleared 80x150 area earth work, gravel and item 4 for sub base and driveway and we did as much as possible with garage doors and my cost for total project was $110,000.
They are great!! Love the radiant heat idea and would totally do this if it were a house!!! We were talking about spray foam, because we have the sprayer and could do it ourselves… not 100% on that yet! I really love the black!!!
@@TheHoneystead the foam is the way to go it’s faster and if you can do it yourself it will be cheaper then bat insulation
Are you saying the building by itself was 42k? You aren't including any other expense with that number? If so that's absolutely insane.
For the love of god, I wish these damn post frame builders would use house wrap as a standard item. It’s marginal money and produces a much better product in the end.
thanks for the info and for clearing the air on the cost thanks again have a blessed day
Most definitely!!
Wife and I just finished our barn build last year. 38’w X 52’d with two 14’ doors, and two 14’ lean-to(s). We also had three horse stalls boxed out, one and a half lofts, a tack room, and wash bay. 100a service, multiple outlets and lights. Plus two water spigots.
Total cost….just under $100k. Oddly enough, $100k happens to be the same amount I paid for my first house 🫤. Depressing!
Let's talk running power to building, My Electric company (NV Electric) wants $40,000 to run powerlines 800 feet to building pad. Sounds high to me and even higher if underground? I'm thinking screw that and put that money towards solar?
I built my first house 26 years ago ,$77,000 finished project with full basement , 2600 square feet cap cod and two acre lake with drive going across dam .Crazy how expensive everything is.Love video .
I know!!!! Definitely crazy!!
With inflation that is $148k in today’s dollars
@@JohnGag on 17 acres with city water maybe $300,000 but I have it away in a divorce
good choice for the hyperlite. i've seen a number of videos where people have been extremely satisfied with them. especially farmers who used the outside lights as they're really bright and cover a large area.
Finishing up my 40 x 90 workshop. Ordered my garage door in November, it got installed last week...
Beautiful barn Kaylee. . Look forward to seeing the barn build completed. Thanks for sharing. .
I ordered my garage doors in December. It's now April, and I am still waiting. Good luck and that's a good looking building
Cost was totally reasonable especially with todays material pricing.
Well worth it after y’all finish the inside! 👍
I agree! And most of it we have been doing ourselves along the way. Land prep, and gathering supplies throughout the years has helped as well.
LOL, no. That is very high, at today's prices.
@@sprtplt lol what pole structures have you had built lately?
I’m living in my 2019 pole barn house right now and have a pretty decent idea what it cost 🙃
That's an exciting build for your homestead/farm!! Congratulations!
Thanks for sharing the cost! We appreciate it! We are looking to build a barn and this helps! We’re in Virginia too! 😊

Get some good tax advice. Your a business, don’t leave a dime on the table. I’ve received so many grants, incentives, low interest or interest free, and subsidies over the years.
@tomvicarri can you share how you found info for these grants, incentives, etc?

My pole barn is a 30x40 and just the building cost me 14k in 2014.
Hey i just signed with pioneer for a 60 by 150 by 12 btw what foundation system did you go with?
Barn is awesome. Much needed. Will serve you well. Thank you for sharing
needs gutters..... you wanna protect those poles in the dirt.. no gutters will accelerate the rotting of those poles.... get some gutters... please
Just were installed
@@TheHoneystead oh sweet... i have a barn just as big as yours but built 100 years ago. And the poles in front all need replaced because the gutters on it fell off and prior owners didnt replace or fix them.. probably took many years to rot them and termit dmg. But ya its amazing how no gutters can destroy 6x6 beams. Your beams look like 4x4 or something smaller than mine. You have dozens and dozens of trusses. I dont.. interesting to see how barns were buult back in the day like mine vs yours. My trusses i have maybe 6-8 of em. But theyre supported by larger beams the size of your actual poles and thick steel bolts and bars from the roof into the truss. Really cool to see new vs old.
My barn has 6 stalls with concrete 3 or so inchs thick on the left 1.4 and the middle 1.2 is dirt but enough to fit 6 cars. The other 1.4 is another 3-4 inch slab with a workshop.
Biggest diff is you have metal walls. I have the old fashioned wooden walls with planks nailed side by side. With smaller slit like boards nailed in between to (insulate) the barn
Hello I just found your channel and love the content. Subscribed!! Great info. I am located in Southwestern PA and in the process of adding a 30x40 to my existing shop. The build date is set for the 4/28, fingers crossed. If you don’t mind can you share the pricing on your garage doors? I’m trying to decide what route to go with insulated / windows or not etc. the prices seem to be crazy right now. I will have 5 garage doors including replacing my old ones on old shop. Thanks in advance. Nick

Thanks for sharing. Looks great. Good times.
I have one starting this week. Did they hit any rock when drilling for poles? This is my only worry. That will increase cost.
Good hard up to date numbers. Thank you so much.
Looking to do a 60x80 on a concrete slab. Here I come 100G. But will be tax exempt because we are considered a farm.
Ouch! We were quoted 15k to do ours
@@TheHoneystead sounds about right for the size. I was figuring 20k for mine. Just had a slab poured for my home 28x76 and it was around 8000 with labor.
I just built a 40x80x12 with (2) 16x10 OH Doors, (2) 3x7’ man doors, with gutters. $39,860.
That was with double-bubble white on black insulation on the roof, and house wrap.
That includes labor?!?! I'm building a 40x72 and that was how much just my materials were from Menards.
Yes! This is the material cost and labor with delivery.
Great video .....informational,and nicely presented. Good luck with your beautiful building

I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to share this information. I find it very interesting the differences in materials and costs as opposed to the projects I design and build in Texas. Your barn is very comparable in price and size to a project I'm just finishing up....but our metal is very different. Here, the screw-down panels are typically 28ga for the cheapest up to 22ga for the most expensive, with 26ga being typical thickness (24ga for standing seam being typical). The thicknesses you are using would be considered way out of the norm...which is a curious but major difference. Obviously your builder appears to have done a very good job. Congrats and keep up the good work.
Can I get your info..i am looking into simialr barndo here in Texas and I cannot find 1 near this price for just material
Not including delivery and install.
Thank you for sharing the information, very interesting. Beautiful building Honey Girl. God Bless.
Hoooly heck! That is double what I expected. The cost of materials is absolutely insane. Congrats on the really nice building though.
Aren't materials when this was built at a all time high?
@@randybobandy9828 Sounds about right!
Dang, we're a nosy bunch. Never even occured to me to ask about the cost. I'm just glad it's built.
Hi love pure honey. The best .

our 48x120x12 with 8" concrete built 1986 $27k
Lol ohhh the good old days! I’d have sooo many barns if that were still the case!
Inflation calculator online says that is 71,000 adjusted for inflation to 2021 dollars. So… close with their costs… and the building sizes are a bit different.
You couldn’t even cover the slab for 27K today.
The concrete is where the costs goes up quickly
Thanks so much for this! Very helpful. We are in process of getting ready to build our barndominium! Ours is going to be white but I love the black.
Ohhhh that’s going to be beautiful!!
Have you seen Cog Hill Farms 2 new white Barndominiums they had built one for them and the other for the mother in law. They look great.
$77,150. Or go to 4:30
Thank you from Israel
I get a lot of stings when I open the box
Are you using smoke?
Hire Amish
I have a question what is the price for just the materials with no labor?
I wish I had a better answer to this one. Unfortunately, I don’t have that… but if you crunch numbers, also look at equipment rental and time. This was the main reason we decided to have them build it!
In Ravalli county Montana a 30' x 40' X 10' pole barn with inside 4" slab, one 16' x 8' garage door, 3' one man door, one 4' window, no vapor barrier is $40,500.00. This price did not include the dirt work, that was an additional $3,500.00 and had to find my own contractor for this. I had to cut into uphill side, about 6' cut on high side then slope and drainage ditches and was left with flat gravel pad. This would class as a basic build. Was built by MQS.
lots of information. thank you. barn da mium? i lijke it

Great episode. Thx for sharing your info!
I had commented on the pressure treat. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

77k is the cost @ 4:28
You're doing a great job.
In 2023 with an engineered septic, utility hookup, site prep, new driveway and fully framed with multiple rooms 40x80x14 I paid about 174k and another 80k for the land.
I just found your channel and glad I did. We are in WV and have been looking into PPB. After hearing the cost we will probably scale the size back as we want a concrete floor. Thank you for the valuable info!
You’re welcome! They were great to work with and can help with designs and so on!
Snowbunny, Take it from an 89-year-old female don't scale back! IF you are going to just build one in your lifetime (forever home?) don't scale back.
Whatever the cost difference figure out what a payback would be in 10 years. IF it is $1,000.00 a year = $10,000.00. Just figure out how you can save the $1,000.00. The 10 years will pass before you know it. Good luck.🙏
I wish i had money for stuff like this 😩
We put up a 48x100x16 high. Fits our combine with the hopper plates up well. With concrete in half of it our price was around 70K but, this was done 4 years ago so sadly I'd say with inflation your price looks about right. We chose spray foam installation which was fast n easy fyi.
Nice building and thanks for sharing!
Quick question I’m looking at building one 50x100x20 in height anyone worried about high winds with these homes?!
Why do we humans have to follow the crowd or we are considered terroist if we don't follow the crowd of chaos?? Off grid= solar, wind, composting toilets, and water 💦 filtration or boiling or even sunlight to purify water. We are Soo worried about playing on the internet!!😉👍
Nice building, good luck with it!
Black? Yeah no. I would of gone with red. What kind of homestead or farm doesn’t have a red barn? :/
Looks great, congratulations. I will keep looking for updates
Thank you! I put one out today and I have another coming out on Thursday:)
I just priced a complete Kit for a 40x60 Metal Pole barn building Just the materials for 19K. That includes all the poles, wood for walls, wood trusses, All the sheets of metal, screws, trim etc.. And a walk in door.
Thanks for being honest.
Kaylee I think it’s a great video and very informative….today’s cost are much higher all the way around…good to know at least a “starting” figure as a baseline and then take it from there….watching and wondering if this will be the next barndo build for a home for your farm family neighbors ….lol… xoxo
Our 30X40 pole barn will be here next week but now I'm jealous and have barn envy for a larger building.
Ohhh that’s awesome!!!!! You are going to love it. We are waiting on concrete now!
Thank you
A few extra questions: are the post 10 foot on center? Are the roof trusses 8 foot on center? This seems the standard construction configuration. My future barn is post 8' OC and trusses 4' OC for ease of finishing the inside at a later date. Thanks
Great questions!!! I’ll get you answers:)
My walls are also 16' inside height so I'm doing rollup door vs garage doors
40’ Trusses and 4’ OC with a 4/12 pitch and the poles are 8’ OC :)
I’m voice texting so I hope that makes sense lol
Thanks for sharing all that information Kaylee. You guys are awesome.
Yeah I went back-and-forth with wondering if it would be appropriate to share. I do know that it will help future builds for individuals who are looking to have a barn t so I figured the best way to help us to share.
@@TheHoneystead in the end, is entirely up to you about how much you want to share. I expect most people appreciate the full disclosure. I'm certainly glad you shared the cost. it helped me realize that my estimated budget is pretty close for what I want to have built.
The only issue I see is, you didn't build "turn girt" so if you wanna insulate the walls there will be extra $, but its looks like a fantastic building! The apothecary videos are fantastic too, keep em coming!
