I hit $113k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started last month 2024. Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of the society in the country as very few are literate on the subject.
It's essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Myself, I'm guided by Evelyn Vera. for years and highly recommend her I focus on him. To be honest, I almost didn't buy the idea of letting someone handle growing my finance, but so glad I did.
Love this modern high tech roof. I also appreciate the precise roof works and lead work done in the RUclips channel “The Irish Homestead” Both a joy to watch.
Really nice looking roof. You don't see white colored roofs, it looks fantastic, don't blame you for having them fix the roof. Enjoyed watching them putting the roof on, never heard of this type before. At least that is finished. Hope you took a break from work, you deserve it.
I love your attention to detail, highlighting the craftsmanship of the external contractors coming to work on the build and your usual fantastic story telling. I may have missed this but if a living roof was added on top of the final roofing material would this deteriorate the roof faster than it manufactures guarantee? It would be so beautiful and useful to have one. Also the pool you’re putting in, will this be a natural pool? I’m researching one for my place in Kenya and friends in France are converting their old pool. Seems like it’s more fashionable now.
I love the "cool roof" option. And to be able to use bi-sided solar panels is an excellent idea. The question I have is what will happen in a year or two when the roof become less "bright white" from pollution and water that leaves black particles on the roof? Do you get heavy snow loads? How does the roof handle snow. I am in Northern Canada (Central Alberta). I would love to do this roofing system here. Unless there is a way to "melt" the snow to prevent it from accumulating and to keep ice from forming (added weight) on the flat roof. Alternatively, if this system can be installed on a pitched roof or curved roof, that may work. Though the neighbours may not like seeing a bright reflective white roof. This system is something that I hope my architect may know. I had a meeting with him a couple of weeks ago and he is a firm believer in 0-net buildings and homes. You gave me the inspiration to pursue a new method.
That Bosch leaf blower is a beast. At full power, it can lift most of its own weight. However, a 5Ah ProCore Bosch battery is empty within some minutes, 3-5 or so. It needs the biggest batteries available for some running time. Or multiple of the smaller ones. I should be the ProCore ones, not below 5Ah, the smaller ones cant deliver enough current. I never regretted buying one.
Really cool, it's the same material as a swimming pool liner? Where I live (Ireland), the best option for flat roof is fibreglass as there are no seams and lasts over 20 years. Different climate, different requirements. Can't wait for the interior. All the best!
23:06 I fill you... this year the company that build my windows on my new house, they too broke a big triple glass(3x2,5) on my house... alote of work... but I get it, the window himself weight almost 200kg
Interesting products... why tho, would you not run the membrane on the roof flat up the walls for eg 300mm and then run the parapit membrane over the top of that? same for the chimneys... Its a much better waterproof seal... Also, the round drain membrane.. why would you not run the round membrane piece for the drain underneath the roof membrane? and... why wouldn't you run the drain membrane into the inside of the pipe?... And yes, it would take longer to seal up the walls and into the pipe but from what I've seen, its a much better practice, yes?
Grandiose job! Extremely neat looking roof. How's about the neighbors? Here in Greece and Germany there are a lot of neighbors not so tolerant on modern architecture...
Good job and great videos! 👍 I have just discovered the channel and am planning on catching up on the videos soon, I have a couple of questions to ask: 1. I have noticed that you placed your roof vapour barrier above the OSB (on the exterior side). won't this trap the moisture that will be generated from the interior air due to indoor activities such as cooking and breathing between the OSB and the barrier which might damage the wood? Placing the barrier under the OSB makes more sense to me. 2. Since the house is in a hot climate why didn't you place the thermal insulation above the waterproofing membrane? this way it will protect it from extreme temperatures and UV and will prolong its life (inverted roof technique). Looking forward to the end result!
I'm curious about long term concerns with different expansion/contraction rates between the roofing membrane and the insulation. I'm a roofer and it's frustrating putting TPO down perfect and then have to deal with wrinkles, but I have some concern with this technique over the course of the life of the roof.
I am sooo inspired I never missed any video as u post since you started and can’t wait to see the completed house with both of u inside , indeed every day counts, all the best with the rest of the house ❤❤❤,
From what i see around the area, the other houses are quite traditional. Is the Urban planning of the area allows a so modern structure among the traditional?
Looks nice, however your fully bonded glued system is ok and the spraying perfect. However your fasteners are completely wrongly placed (never screwed in the joints] the amount of fasteners to be used depends on ……… maybe your solar panels will be giving the required weight holding de roofing system in place. In my opinion prefabricated inner and outer corners, and prefabricated outlets are a better solution. Time will tell.
So can the roof take a lot of footfall? In my LGSF house, the roof is an important part of the living space, with a suspended roof over 60% of the roof...... that means that we intend using the roof for placing outdoor furniture and for entertaining on, with good views all around, so my roofing material will need to be hardy enough for people and furniture on it quite often..... can this take that sort of wear?
Why not put this on a slanted/sloped roof, i think it will be a better water resistant, and get more cooler temps because of the air moving under the roof
You guys videos are perfect 🤌 As a person building a similar home now this gives me motivation so your journey motivates my journey. Also, that roof is alternatively called a TPO roof. You can tell that those guys are pure 100% professionals as well. The house is beautiful and I also try to promote flat roofs all the time because people are too stuck in their old ways when flat roofs are actually better.
NOTE: This video is NOT a professional based information video. The roofing system is just one person's opinion, and is NOT documented fact per the roofing industry. Flat membrane roofs are rated in different ways, and have multiple options. This system is not typically the most sustainable roof you can build, so consult a roofing professional BEFORE making your choice.
on such a foundation you can make 3 floors of brick, rather than a house made of a metal frame, a miscalculation on the foundation\\overall the project is good\\
90% is a ridiculous over estimation. Are you talking about in Spain? Cause that's the only way it might make any sense. 25 years of roof experience in USA
You have your own qualified and professional reasons to build a house like this. That doesn’t mean that I like the style and the choice of materials. But what I do like is your professional approach to all of the different steps from designing to building. And almost forgot your work ethic. So 👍🏻.
I’m concerned with UV degradation with pvc cover, fearing it doesn’t last as long as tar and sand shingles If an architect or builder use it for their home, I’ll consider using it for mine I’m always worry about manufacturers pushing a product… cheaper for them to offer while offering lower quality at the SAME or MORE cost. Lower quality for lower price is fine. Lower quality for equal or more money is a NO

You should stay away from making statements of sustainability, an area where you don’t have an expertise. I never make comments on videos but all of your materials are not sustainable at all. They will only be sustainable if they are from natural origin and not from a synthetic origin. Yes the manufacturers manual may say they are eco friendly, but they don’t. If you want a cool roof , go for a green roof.

wow, you guys the house is looking amazing!! congratulations!! ❤
Beautiful!!!! Congratulations ❤❤❤❤
Terrific video series. You folks are doing it the right way. Many blessings to you both. ☦️
Thank you so much Pepe for this new video ! I'm curious, what is the total length of the house ?
You are so close to the finish line 🎉🎉🎉 I love the white, remembers the roof's from traditional houses in Algarve 🥰
The house is looking so fantastic. Loving the cleaness of the white ...
Cuando acabes todo deberían enseñarlos TODOS en las facultades de arquitectura técnica! Bravo! Eres un ejemplo! Ganas de ver el final! 👏🏻
Decathlon - making the best work footwear ever! Kudos;)
I truly enjoy your videos Pepe!❤
Another great and very informative episode Pepe. Thank you for sharing. We hope to install the same kind of roof on our house.
Looks amazing! 🤩 I love the strong contrast between the white and the earth red color 😍
You guys go all out for ASMR, and I thank you for it 🤘
It looks incredible! 👏👏🤩
Beautiful roof and house is amazing look forward to seeing the inside finishes 🥰👌
I think all new buildings should incorporate cool roofs. Another great vid!
Amazing job! Congratulations.
Never seen such a beautiful roof. Almost there guys ❤
Its swimming pool liner
Thank you for this very useful information. Never heard of this before.
We use welded PVC roofs up in northern Canada on all our modular units in the oil sands. They are incredibly durable
Also custom swimming pools here in Italy 👌
Qué majos sóis! Me encantan vuestros videos y Portugal.😊

coomon on commercial places, homes not so much cos it glares the neighbours. expensive too for a single ply sheet.

Acabas de decir una gran verdad.
Is it the roof big hail proof?
yes it will absorb the impact. its slightly squishy ..... its the same stuff as swimming pool liner

Exactly

wow your lovely home is really coming along🥰
I had it in my roof for 7 years without issues
Do cool roofs work in cold places , as Canada? Our winters are wild.

I was thinking about water collection.
Lookin' good you guys! Ain't nothin' gettin' in that house.
Im not sure if this plastic roof that last 20y is more sustainable then a metallic roof that lasts 50y is. But really nice work👌👍
He said 35 years or longer. 20 years warranty.
Grandiose job! Extremely neat looking roof. How's about the neighbors? Here in Greece and Germany there are a lot of neighbors not so tolerant on modern architecture...
The roof looks incredible. Will it be hard to keep clean? Does it stay white or does it yellow over time?
Good job and great videos! 👍

Very interesting and inspiring build.
You both, are very impressive people.
Awesome!
IS THIS FINAL MEMBRANE FOR ROOF?
Extensive green roof would have looked great although not sure your roof would have taken the load.
Never heard of this roof material before.

Outstanding job......
Amazing 👏🏻
It like like the roof slopes a little from front to back but no actual slope to the roof drains?

whats the material for the roof called?
Tela armada --- swimming pool liner
So can the roof take a lot of footfall? The roof is amazing. So sorry about the window.
Today years old that I realise I’ve been pouring out of heavy cans upside down.
Thank you 👍
Hello, can you make a smaller video fo every thing that you made in your building, link a compilation of every video
Why not put this on a slanted/sloped roof, i think it will be a better water resistant, and get more cooler temps because of the air moving under the roof

legal, video novo!
Isn't more sustainable cork insulation and zinc waterproofing?!
You guys building this house in Spain right?
Portugal
I have a question for you, why did you decide to build it in a straight row as is and secondly, why only 1 floor and not two ¿…

Buenas noches yo creo que la poliurea es mucho mas efectiva
From the US: A fully adhered, PVC roof with rigid insulation underneath is the best roof you can do. 🏆🏆🏆
Why the flat roof, is a deck going up there?
on such a foundation you can make 3 floors of brick, rather than a house made of a metal frame, a miscalculation on the foundation\\overall the project is good\\

Could it be a huge swimming pool! I had a flat roof once. Never again !

whereabouts are you Pepe?

Maybe mind your own business? Stop critiquing their videos and make your own.
@ This is not about the making of videos, is about the fact the roof is not sustainable.
@@BigBangThinking What makes you an expert in “sustainability”? The guy is an architect and would probably know more about building things than most.

Nope. Not sustainable. You will have to fix seems and edges yearly. Every 3-5 years that will degrade and you will have to replace the whole thing.
So much greenwashing going on in my country, glad I unsubscribed… its like saying “bio” diesel 😅
I dont know, for me it doesnt fit into this natur. the other houses looks much nicer... Maybe i am wrong... its so unnatural ;(
