Would love to get confirmation from someone that it also fits the SL(601). Neither B&H or 8Sinn has been able to tell me. Kondor Bkue now offers a cage that fits all SL cameras, but it looks so "kludgey". Is that a word?
Thinking about buying this cage. Thanks for the review. Only one screw is needed cuz there are two tabs in the baseplate under the lens. So it can't twist.
I have the same cage but I use sidehandles for better grip. The camera is heavier then most other cams, so you want to make sure you have a solid grip. When it gets too heavy, I use also minimax which is awesome.
I haven't shot alongside the Komodo with the Leica, but the Komodo raw files are much easier to grade/more robust. It's hard to replicate the Red's gamma curve with the Leica footage I find, though that may be more a limitation of my grading skills!
I would say it's comparable as it has 10-bit and you have the options of the All-I codec or external raw recording via an Atomos recorder. The lowlight is extremely impressive, I would say comparable to the FX3 to be honest. I shot in Long-Gop a lot and noticed some moire/aliasing though, so if you want to keep file sizes down, I think you would fare better with the FX3. Hope that helps. :)
I'll be putting something together after shooting with it a bit more :) Some really short sample clips at the end in case you missed them just to show the general stability/movement too
