Tool is an amalgamation of everything I love in my life. Everything even tangentially related to it is the fire that fuels me. I know some people don’t get it, and that’s fine. It may not easily relate to some people, but to others, they’re the greatest act to grace the planet.
I noticed that. I envy that. I am currently living in the UK but lived in the US too. And today's age is a bunch of snowflakes and ignorant entitled cunts.
something i always liked about Adam jones aside his attraction for the Gothic is that tendency to be attracted by surreal supernatural things and the way he expresses that through his music in a very distinctive way also can relate with the similar ways we have of playing Guitars and the love for Custom Les pauls XD also huge SG fan here just for the record
I'm so glad RUclips exists and enables me to find these old interviews with Tool. Also, Danny's shirt is more spot-on today than it was in 2006 when this interview took place, but I wonder if he'd still wear it in public...🤔
Holy shit time flies. I didn't realise Puscifer went as far back as 2006. I get kind of down thinking how old these guys are now but also grateful I got to see them live and heard their amazing work.
8:35 .. i got chills seeing those 4 on stage making magic is just freaking ridiculous.. my first tool show i was 16 and got free tickets.. i knew i liked what i had heard on the radio but had no idea what i was about to witness.. ive been a disciple ever since...

That's a swastika. It's an ancient religious icon used in Euroasian cultures. In some Eastern religions it means divinity and spirituality. Hitler just turned to an angle and it became a horrible symbol that ignorant people only associate to the Nazis. The way it's positioned makes a huge difference in this case.
@@superreverbfreak Very true, my friend. However, at the moment, there's a group hollering about wearing a mask (this is their view of having rights being taken), meanwhile I'd rather not be shot dead getting my phone mistaken for a gun, and I'd like to have autonomy over my own sexual reproductive organs and states of consciousness. You know, real human rights issues. Would I call myself a Democrat? Probably not. But I'm sure as hell not Republican.
sorry, but go back and LISTEN to the album again, and dont focus on the lyrics so much. and say that same thing. the music they all made, is their best. and the new album will only be better. and lateralus isnt their best album sound wise, idk why everyone focus's on lyrics more than the music, the music is what will open your mind up. not the lyrics.
Before more butthurt republicans come crawling in, I just want to say one thing: I saw a recent picture of Danny wearing a shirt that said "All in favor of gun control, raise your right hand" with Hitler giving his signature salute. An obvious stab at the current administration's action on gun control. Danny is a smart guy, too smart to get dragged into the "blindly support one party" game.
Two groups who believe in possibly the dumbest shit imaginable. They aren't alone, don't get me wrong, but they are fuucking hilarious to observe from a distance. (Don't get too close though, they tend to take themselves very seriously and always dominate conversations.) So, to combine the two is just awesome on so many levels. If you don't understand this, you probably fit both descriptors and take yourself too seriously. Good day?
Well that changes it...I am not sure if he is actually being serious of just being satirical. like TOOL usually is. Which is sometimes highly annoying, it ruins the lyrical style in many of their songs you know what I am saying?
Killbot754 You never know, these guys have lots of secrets. Too much in fact. I am just frustrated that guys always have to do something extremely weird and stupid. Like when Maynard was a prostitute in one concert. I mean really? You guys are a professional band, act mature
Come on Danny have more respect for others opinions or you just belittle yourself with your own close minded beliefs. I wouldn't call wearing a Nazi shirt that says "vote republican" being very "open minded". As far as the comments on 10,000 days....I find that the "newer" fans prefer 10k days while "older" fans prefer TOOLs original music. I agree 10k days was a big change from the old and in my opinion it was a transition that I was more then open to hear and enjoy. However I do find I enjoy their older stuff much more then 10k days but that could just be because it's nostalgic at this point. Nothing against 10k days but it's certainly not my favorite album.
Have more respect for others opinions? What would be the point in free speech then? Free speech is useless unless it means the freedom to challenge something head on, or use satire as a weapon. You have to be open minded to understand it though.
Neil John O'Donnell So let me get this straight....You are saying my opinion is wrong (being close minded) while telling me that I have to be "open minded" to understand. lmao what a hypocrite. I never said he was close minded which you basically just called me. I simply said it's not very "open minded" to wear a shirt comparing a party to Nazis. I wonder if you would say the same thing If he was wearing a shirt that said "vote liberal" instead. I'm at least consistent in my opinion that comparing anything to Nazi Germany is childish and makes light of a very terrible time in history and belittles what happened. Millions were brutally tortured and murdered and to my recollection nothing even remotely similar has been done by republicans or the democrats. Yes freedom of speech should have no limits and I never said it should HOWEVER it doesn't change the fact that while exercising his freedom to speech (which I'm all for) he looked like a radical close-minded idiot who isn't educated in history. That's just my opinion and thank God for free speech otherwise I wouldn't be able to say it. BTW you don't have to "disrespect" others to exercise free speech jackass and last time I checked that wasn't the "point" of free speech.
travincal1 I didn't say your opinion was wrong. I just didn't agree with it. That's why it's called an "opinion". I then insinuated you might not be open minded, as you didn't seem to understand satire (the use of humour, irony, exaggeration or ridicule to expose and criticise people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues). So far (no hypocrisy), so good. You may or may not be a hypocrite, but you're certainly good at misunderstanding things and contradicting yourself: "I never said he was close minded" which was preceded by "you just belittle yourself with your own close minded beliefs" and followed by "he looked like a radical close-minded idiot". As for the shirt, if it said "vote liberal" instead I would be wondering who this new Liberal Party were. If it said "vote democrat" I WOULD be saying the same thing. I'm not American. I don't like either party. My opinion is that one sucks more than the other. Comparing things to Nazi Germany certainly isn't original, but it doesn't belittle what happened. After watching Mel Brooks, "The Producers", (more satire!) I'm sure people didn't think the Holocaust was less horrific. As for: "to my recollection nothing even remotely similar has been done by republicans or the democrats." Seriously? Not even remotely? Torture and murder? Anyway, I'm glad we're both exercising our right to free speech. I know disrespecting (or not respecting) others opinions isn't the point of free speech. Thanks for pulling me up on that. My bad. I should've been clearer. I meant that free speech shouldn't be restricted or limited by people feeling they need to have more respect for someone else's opinion, as long as you've listened and understood them. I also don't agree with you're opinion that I'm a jackass. Obviously. We're going to get along just fine :)
