@@davidsimmons4491 cobras through those years were 4.6 as well but they were the 4v variant and the 03-04 cobras had stronger internals to make up for the supercharger.
I don't know right now, stuck between keeping it and going turbo or buying a 4v like a Mach or Termi. It's a difficult decision because I like both Nissan and Ford very much.
Check out the 94-98 GTs with the PI head swap. You take the heads off a 1999-2004 GT with a larger intake manifold(so they fit), and you get an increase of around 50-60HP. Not including CAI, larger throttle body, headers, and exhaust. I have a 350z also, but younger brother is riding in the 98 Stang.
BewareOfMountainLions pi intakes can be bolted to npi with ease and an Npi intake will fit on pi heads so they will fit either way..a pi intake and cam swap on npi heads will yield about 40 hp alone..the whole swap good for about 5-8 more hp and that’s solely due to the bump in compression from the heads but at a higher cost and more labor..and that’s on the 96-98 gts..the 4.6 wasn’t in the 94-95 sn95s
Yeah. It's very possible to get these things to those numbers. It's a little tricky to hit the 300 rwhp but it is possible depending on your bolt ons and if you get the best of the best mods.
Man I miss my 2000 GT : ( Wish I would have kept it and just replace the engine. Had so much personality! Loved the passing power, torque, on the freeway.
when i had my 1999 mustang GT, i ran a 70mm th body, mac long tube headers with 3 in collectors, 3 in mac power chamber no cats, ported upper intake plen, FRPP underdrive pulleys, 24 lb injectors, 4.10 gears, Ported stock 80mm mass air, K&N open element filter, Super Chips tune for 100 oct fuel.. 310 hp with a Auto and a 3000 stall and a transgo shiftkit. Key is the plugs, copper 1 step hotter. custom gap.
I just got a 2000 Mustang GT two weeks ago. Its Atlantic Blue which is basically a beautiful dark blue metallic. I got it with 111,000 miles for a real good price and it runs 273 HP. I know these mustangs don't have as much horsepower as some of the competitors from these years, but they are beautiful cars and 273 HP is plenty for me. It has a K&N cold air intake, dual flowmasters hooked up to the 4.6L 16V and it sounds great! I really love my car and it just roars like a lion!
331Grabber Yeah we're spoiled with the amount of hp newer cars are putting down. Still, these are fun, good looking cheap muscle cars that are readily available and have a great aftermarket. I remember around the late 90s, early 2000s when looking for a cheap American v8 rwd car to build there was not much out there. Got to force feed these 2 V to make em really quick tho. They take to boost nicely. Jim
On your video featuring the AIRAID cold air intake by itself rather than in this power pack, it tested to make 249hp and 295lb. And in this video featuring the same air intake plus a lot more mods it makes the same amount of power.
A lot of people are bummed they can't run the O/R X pipe, but all you need is to is weld some hollowed out cats on the car and go to someone who don't use an emissions meter. That's what some people I know do. And another good suggestion for a mod is a 4.10 gear setup. For the streets, it's a lot more snappy and is really good for burning rubber and scaring friends. You're really looking for more acceleration than you are speed for the streets.
I currently drive a modified honda (just wait, let me finish!) and am trying desperately to sell it. I've always been a muscle car lover ever since i was a kid, and i really want a mustang gt or mach 1 of this generation next. this video is extremely helpful! you guys show the exact parts that are available on your website and even teach a bit about them (which is great, honda 4 cylinders and ford v8s are two different worlds obviously). already better than honda tuning websites. great video! (=
Was that the 92 octane race tune? I know its an auto but 27 peak isnt that impressive. My 98 has virtually the same mods, along with the pi intake and cams to bring it up to 99-04 power levels and I was hoping for a little more.
Yes, SN95's a slugs. It was a totally new design at the time. What's the point in bitching about it? "The 5.0 was soo much better" Well, guess what, there isn't a huge power difference between these two engines. The gains are different (What yields high gains on a 5.0 doesn't have the same result with the 4.6). The issue with the 2v 4.6 is the heads. I've seen people exceed 300hp easily with twisted wedge heads (Can be bought for 800-1200 bucks), and basic bolt-ons (Exhaust, intake etc.) Anybody who knows about the 2v ford engine knows this.
On your site you say unless youre running forced induction there is no need to run more than a 70mm plenum and tb because it actually robs you of power. But on this video you are running a 78mm... why?
I have a 02 gt with 78mm throttle body cold air intake bbk o/r xpipes and flowmaster 40s about to get a bama tuner but I honestly gained mpg from these mods and they are a big notice
Hi American Muscle how are you I have a 2000 Mustang basic and I was wondering if there's anything I could do to add more power to it thanks again Teddy!
Can you do all the different packages (power, acceleration, handling, and appearance) together? Or do some packages interfere with the others? How much would all 4 packages cost to purchase and install!
Actually he's. Right the American muscle web site nly recommends the 75 &78mm throttle body for highly modified or forced induction engines. If not and the bore is to large it will actually hurt performance
Nice I got an 02 mustang I'm looking to buy some parts off you guys to make her faster. So far I just got an exhaust system on it, and K&N air filter, I'm looking to put a bigger throttle body, upper intake plenum, CAI, Cams, valve springs and more. I like how your mustang looks.
I have the same mods but the off road pipe i think its to much for me soo i did the high flow cats and i love it but for sure am going for the Short headers oh i also have MSD coils and believe it or not the exhaust tone change .my is also auto ;)
Me to man...mines auto as well. When I bought it it had a bit of aftermarket from BBK already installed. CAI, Throttle body, and a nice flowmaster exhaust system. Only 79,000 miles on the car currently. No trouble codes, No leaks I enjoy this generation (99-04) of mustang.
That TB/Plenum is bigger than what AM recommends on their website for a GT at this stage, makes me wonder why they picked that combo, maybe bigger mods to support in the Acceleration Pack?
That is really good, now those parts are practically worth nothing. I have a sn95 with an 04 swap, I also have a lot more done the car. Imagine this being your first car, easy gains, fun to drive, reliable even if they say its not. I just want garage full of them lol.

I thought the throttle body was made for engines with cam, forced induction or nos? I have a 96 gt with cai, would it be a good idea to get the tb? Also I plan on doing other bolt on hp upgrades, thanks
i think a lot of your customers are curious to see what kind of results you get with full bolt ons, ie everything you did here with underdrive pulley kit and headers. for 4.6 2v and 3v.
Need some opinions on this: should I keep my 98 mustang with a v6 and upgrade it or sell it and use that plus some extra cash to buy a GT and just upgrade that? I don't plan on racing or anything I just want a faster mustang.
I have these the same upgrades on my 2001 GT Auto but my numbers were different! Only thing I'm missing from this is the throttle body plenum! with a better Bama tune and headers no cats and an underdrive port match and polish heads i've gotten 70 HP gains.with 268h cams I've gotten 302 HP and 296 torque.they can make 300 n/a.saving up for a tork tech tvs 1900 SC kit and cobra internals hope to make 650 HP at the wheels
as we see here, hes already at 250hp @ the wheels. if you want to pick up 50 more HP, without insane prices. id say get exactly what he has here, but add on performance headers, racing ignition coils, underDrive pullys kit, however, i woulnt get the 78mm TB like they used, opt for the edelbrock TB elbow witch will alow you to run a racing 90mm Throttle body. a quick retune from bama and you should be fairly close to 300rwhp
It really is going to vary from state to state, I'd recommend checking in with a local performance shop to see what they recommend. Unless the state you're in doesn't have super strict emission laws, you most likely will not pass emission with an off-road (no catalytic converter) setup. -Zach
wrong bro, I have a GT with the exact bolt ons and ive gone from high 13s to low 13s, ive noticed the most increase's from the o/r x pipe and tune. So long as I drive easy my gas mileage has stayed the same from stock, $ 20.00 a week.
Alex Silva Not necessarily. Hummer H2s have Corvette motors stuffed in them, but they run a sluggish 17-second 1/4 mile due to them weighing as much as a small moon. Granted, bigger cars usually have bigger power, but that doesn't always mean their faster. SN95s will always have a weight advantage over their younger brethren. Especially the new 2015s, which are coming dangerously close to clocking in at 4000 lbs., almost 1000 lbs more than a 99-04 V6.

Got a question about shift firmness. Just got a bama tuner and tuned my 99 GT to a 91 octane tune and the shift firmness is very noticable, like you have to be hellen keller to not notice the shift firmness. Question is, is the shift firmness going to eventually destroy my transmission over time?
I'm debating on whether to get a gt of this gen or getting a lt1 fbody. With is funner and more exciting to drive. I favor the fbody but for some reason I always come back to the mustang. If I find a good ls1 I'm definitely picking it up tho
+MistaMojoe69 LT1's quicker and more powerful, probably has more potential and would be cheaper to buy. But the GT looks nicer, is newer, and probably has a bigger aftermarket. I had a '94 T/A with factory 6 speed and 3.42s plus full bolt ons. It was crazy fun. Now I have an '03 GT, 100% stock for now. Pretty fuel efficient, handles better, and drives smoother. And more reliable since its newer. Honestly, if I had the money LS1 T/A is the way to go. Great looks, crazy power like 330hp stock, and mad potential when it comes to mods.
Yes. The most increase with a TUNE. That changes what the computer does. Trust me I have a mustang gt with a wider throttle body and a high flow exhaust system, and without a tune there is no difference other than sound.
If any of you are confused, 249 HP at the wheels is 312 HP at the crank. These cars are rated at 260 HP at the crank. Pretty impressive.
The 99/04 GT always sounded so good. The 5.0 was unique in its sound as well.
James B both got almost the same note just different pitch but yes the new edge mustang always holds the flowmaster badge

bailey GT Sweet! What's next on your mod list? - Alex
AmericanMuscle.com I recently installed a 4.10 gear, all aluminum driveshaft and 305 nitto radials. I'm thinking about headers next
I'm debating on whether to get a gt of this gen or getting a lt1 fbody. With is funner and more exciting to drive. I favor the fbody but for some reason I always come back to the mustang. If I find a good ls1 I'm definitely picking it up tho
+MistaMojoe69 That's completely up to you man, but you know us, Mustangs all the way! - Will
+MistaMojoe69 LT1's quicker and more powerful, probably has more potential and would be cheaper to buy.
Thinking of modding my lincoln towncar

very cool mustong 1999 ‼️ how much?
Yep I was thinking about getting one but I'm sticking with my v6
How do u know where to set the shift points
Anyone know if this BBK Throttle Body will work on an 06 P71?
Yes. The most increase with a TUNE. That changes what the computer does. Trust me I have a mustang gt with a wider throttle body and a high flow exhaust system, and without a tune there is no difference other than sound.
I have an 03 GT and I read my stock hp was 260, or is it less?
can i buy them in pack? or i have to order them seperately?
I got an 04 mustang gt and I was wanting to know what Is the cheapest way to get 300+ hp
