Hi Pauline, yes it is the thumbnail. You can load a custom one or use a suggested one picked by RUclips based on your video. I strongly suggest you make a custom one, they are much more effective. Canva has a ton of professional looking thumbnails you can use and customise for your own needs and also completely free.
Okay, thanks for your reply, no one else has replied to me. One more question,Do you take a snapshot of the video you are posting and send to Canva to add Title or subtitle on the snapshot of the video and once finished the editing save in Canva then upload the snapshot in the + thumbnail area on YT? Hi Pauline. There are many ways of creating a thumbnails. I don't take snap shots of a video and start all my thumbnails from scratch. I think of an idea and design it. I am not sure what kind of videos you produce but I would suggest you use Canva and the many free template they have and modify them so they are unique to your video. Then all you need to do is upload the thumbnail on RUclips.
