BULLSHIT. I've uploaded 4K videos for about two years now, and never had to wait more than 48 hours for the 4k option to show up- the last video I uploaded used all the SAME hardware and settings to encode the video, two very similar videos=both were 9 and 1/2 minutes in length and same file size uploaded. RUclips has done something that messed with the 4K play option in the player. NONE of my computers or devices had the 4K option with the latest video I uploaded, even after 3 days! and the editor mode showed the SD, HD, and 4K processing had all completed!

A golden tip is to schedule your video for the next day. That way you give your video plenty of time to finish processing all the different qualities. Also if anyone has a video that is stuck on only SD then you may need to reupload it. I've just had this issue today and had to reupload it because it was bugged and YT didn't recognise it was a 4k video. So now I reupload it properly processed the video to true 4K
@@Kieoryy instead of clicking "Publish Now" or "Public" you click on visibility and click on "Schedule". Set the date to tomorrow and the time you wish to upload to but another great tip for this is to look into your analytics and see when most of your viewers are online and upload at that time. So for example when I upload a 4K video I would Schedule it to tomorrow 27th December at 14:00 and wait until the next day for it to automatically publish your video to public

My issue is that all my Videos are Produced in 4K. When I upload them to RUclips, they become 1080p even though RUclips said "4K Video Finished Processing". I did not find any solutions to this issue here. This is a very Basic, childish type video that everyone should already know how to do in 2022.
@@RealFloridaGroup the solution is on your Video Editor. Make sure that the Video Editing software production Canvas is set to 4K. If the Canvas is set to 1080p, even if the video still says 4K, RUclips would still see it as a 1080p Video. Just make sure that your Software is set to produce in 4K 👍
@@RealFloridaGroup Your Video is 10 hours. I am 100% sure that at 4K, it exceeded the 120 GB allowed by RUclips. So it was dow scaled to 1080p. My 4K Videos are just 30 mins and are 65GB or more, so imagine your Video? Make videos smaller than 120GB
This was extremely thorough. The only question I have, which you didn't quite cover (unless I missed it), is, if you're uploading a video that was shot in 4K, do you need to do anything while setting up the upload to make sure it uploads at 4K, or does RUclips just know that it's 4K and that this is the resolution that you want it to be?

Brilliant video for new RUclipsrs like me. I've been trying to upload Vlog, 26 mins long with 3840 x 1800 resolution & it is stuck on 'Processing HD Version, SD Version complete'. There's no progress bar or time remaining info, just HD sign blinking. Any help on this would be really appreciated. Thanks !

Ironically this answered every question except the one by which I came to this video in the first place: How do I upload in 4K instead of merely 1080p? You seem to have that option in your example yet I don't when I look under my quality. Is it something where you need so many subs or views to do?

My videos used to come out really sharp on You Tube. Now they come out slightly fuzzy. My master is HD and looks great when editing, or even on playback after exporting the time line to a Mp4 file. He never showed how to convert film size to MP4 ...That seems to be the magic number in order for RUclips upload and processing goes completely through. Mines is always hit and miss. It can't be this difficult. Seems like it's the best kept secret. I would have many more videos published if my upload and processing would go through.
SOMETHING changed at RUclips in the last few days. I used the SAME video encoding program on the SAME HARDWARE, with the SAME ENCODING OPTIONS on a file that was 9 and a half minutes in length. The file was accepted as 4K with no problem, as per usual. 3 days ago, I encoded a similar video of the SAME length and file size.. SAME hardware, SAME encoding options, etc- and I got stuck with a 1080p limit on my player quality options. In the editor it told me all my processing was complete, 3 options SD, HD, and 4K- ALL showed as completed processing- and yet NONE of my devices had the option to play it in 4K! So, HOW do you explain that? My videos have NEVER taken more than 48 hours to process the 4K option. After 3 days, on this latest video, NO such option is being offered in the player, either on my PC, my laptop, my 4k smart tv, or ANY of my other devices! WHAT'S YOU ANSWER FOR THAT??
I'm having a problem. I've recorded a video from my PS5 in 4K (Webm format) looks amazing but when I share (upload) it on RUclips the qaulity looks washed out. Reading up on it some people say it's because youtube compresses it that's the reason but theres loads of 4k PS5 content on RUclips others say it take RUclips 24 hours or so to get the full 4k process completed as its transcoding in the background. How to upload a video that is with a 1080p resolution ? Because my all my videos are only with 720p in youtube. I am using GeForce experience program to make short video clips. It creates the videos to mp4 video file on my computer and when i watch the clips on my pc, the resolution is ok. I uploaded a 4k at 264 instead of Apple pro res.422 and it still looks awful. It took 24 hours to upload it. It is one hour in length, scenic content. RUclips compressed it to an unacceptable resolution. Love to hear a suggestion. My channel doesn't have many views yet.

At mark 2:40 it states sd by the processing. How then does it now at mark 2:50 shows hd by the processing. How did you get the sd to turn to hd. Or else your title is misleading and may have helped me properly adjust my expectations if it was just titled as you described your video at mark 0:25. I upload my videos. I just keep it private until it fully loads in 4k/HD. Once I see it’s finished (larger vids can take really long) I switch to public.

i do have 90 min video to upload from my pc, and when i do start my upload, all looking good but when its finish uploading its shows that its only 25 min video been uploaded instead , any advice on how to upload full 90 min, pls? cant try to upload from different device as this video is on my pc, thanx in advance
Is there a way to limit what i upload in? like i dont want to upload 4k it makes no difference since my pc's graphics when recording really only go up to hd, like 4k looks no different

Does anyone else never even get the HD icon? I have 1080 videos that were uploaded months ago that are still not able to be watched in 1080... it just never happens. Do I need to have 1000 subs to get HD available?
How to upload a video that is with a 1080p resolution ? Because my all my videos are only with 720p in youtube. I am using GeForce experience program to make short video clips. It creates the videos to mp4 video file on my computer and when i watch the clips on my pc, the resolution is ok. But when i upload them to You tube the resolution goes to maximum 720p and it is not ok and i want to make it 1080p? I tried to schedule the video but the resolution is the same. How can fix this for You tube?
Ok now I understand i have to wait until the HD process done then upload it.. last time i upload it was 4k but i did publish it directly and it take a day to 100% completed but the results still SD only

When my upload completed converted to sd then my laptop switch off so wht is my resolution 1080p 60 fps or 1440 60 fps wht is mean by sd

it is mostly about uploading videos Period to youtube, not about how HD works. I have tried uploading and doesn't render in HD at any point. Now, if it is because I haven't exported it in a good enough quality, fair enough, but don't do the thing you Solely say in your video which is entice people to come to your video for something you aren't really showing us. It describes "uploading HD" when that isn't what you are showing us

I uploaded a 4k at 264 instead of Apple pro res.422 and it still looks awful. It took 24 hours to upload it. It is one hour in length, scenic content. RUclips compressed it to an unacceptable resolution. Love to hear a suggestion. My channel doesn't have many views yet.

I am uploading a vid but it is not saying HD like yours. instead not highlighted it says SD. it is an HD video though. Our videos that we upload are always in SD and HD but it automatically plays them in SD to the viewer, this is not good as it can make the video 'grainy'. Is there anyway of specifying to YT that your video uploads should only be played to viewers in HD? Great video BTW, very helpful.

Yep! Making a playlist is easy, when you're in your RUclips Studio OR if you're on a video you can easily make one and add to it as you upload!

The one thing you didn't cover is the 4K video tutorial of the desktop that has text that is way to small to see or read, I believe there is a way to scale 4K videos so that people on YT can actually read it

At mark 2:40 it states sd by the processing. How then does it now at mark 2:50 shows hd by the processing. How did you get the sd to turn to hd. Or else your title is misleading and may have helped me properly adjust my expectations if it was just titled as you described your video at mark 0:25. I upload my videos. I can upload sd quality all day, but that to the hd transition is what you failed to clarify.
