Good stuff! I've seen an uptick on visitors with one of my local businesses once I started using RUclips. They're just simple 2 to 3 minute videos, but they are working.

starting my own channel when I go self employed in April
I'm an electrician also but in the West Midlands
thinking of trying to go the amsr route or the fast forward style but might have to do a separate channel for helping with ranking like this

Best of luck Aidan. Yes start a specific channel for AMSR. Don't mix and match videos around different topics

I agree video content is the way to go and we will be leaning towards it. However, i disagree with that content, your answering the clients question who could potentially be paying you for that, or I’ve heard of a door company who was driving a lot of traffic to their site from a “how to” video and had a lot of time wasters call up saying I didn’t work, or asking silly questions who may have been 5 hours away from the service area. Especially with electricity, you don’t want to show people how to change a power point. It’s fantastic for traffic but not sure it would be your ideal client. I think informational videos or “storage heater install London” would be a lot more beneficial. Just my thoughts but good on him for making it.

I couldn’t agree less. Holding back on publishing content that can be helpful to people in the hope you’ll be able to charge them for something they can do themselves is a bad strategy because
      A) someone else will create that content anyway
      B) when your clients figure out they could have done it themselves and save money in the process i don’t think they will be very impressed
      C) it’s a missed opportunity for you to drive additional relevant traffic to tour site.
All the videos i publish are specifically designed to help local businesses to market their business online themselves.
I don’t hold anything back. I still receive lots of requests from potential clients who want my help

@@rankingacademy I agree with some of that and take your points on board but the difference between online marketing and electrical is electricity can kill you! Fair enough resetting something, but changing a power point or something where someone has no experience and can be injured or killed, big no from me.
