Great first episode of your 2nd season Hailey! Love the intention of actually knitting less and sharing a bit more about your whole process. Your comment about the tubular bind off is perfect timing. I have been thinking of just going straight to Italian for my Monday sweater hem but you’ve convinced me otherwise. I just wanted to be lazy 😂
This was the first of your podcasts that I’ve had the pleasure of watching. Thank you for sharing your ideas and projects. Focusing on the little orphan skeins is a great idea!
I love all your ideas! I fully intend to join you in your stash KAL too. I am a crazy intentional knitter who loves to add my own touches to all projects I make.
Enjoyed this episode while knitting on my pressed flowers shawl this morning. Lovely episode, as usual Hailey!!! Excited to see more of your spinning adventures and explorations unfold with your new spinning wheel. ❤❤❤
A wearable wardrobe. That is what caught my attention on your channel. I love that. The yarn substitution is high on my list as someone with a wool allergy who would love to have the yarn selection of animal fiber folks. All your ideas are great!
I made her slipcover and get so many compliments. Love it. I added silk mohair. BTW I named my daughter Hailey 44 years ago and she has spent her life spelling it.
Hello from Louisville! Thank you for mentioning the GC Fibershed. I joined and can’t wait for more information to come out. I love knitting and spinning local fiber. ❤ As far as content, I’d enjoy a remaking store bought knits series. I’m planning to do some of that myself this year. Love your content!
Hi Heather! You’re just up the road!! Yes, I’m super excited to see what they get up to. I’m sure it will be a great resource for this area. One vote for recreating store bought knits! ✅ Thanks for watching and commenting. xo
So glad I made hats, Christmas gifts, for my daughter, partner and two children who live in Nashville. Nashville is colder and has much more snow than I do outside of Philadelphia….who knew!! Your Artus Shawl is stunning and will stop traffic when you wear it in the wild! Thank you for the iPad demo. I’ve used it but not to that extent. Thank you so much!😊
A fabulous episode and. I felt honoured that you mentioned me and showed the special tutorial at the end which was so so helpful to me. Thank you so much ( and by the way, you don’t talk fast, your delivery is spot on) xxx❤
I’m excited about your ideas for the podcast this season! (And I’ll definitely participate in the KAL) I particularly appreciate your “attention to intention”and process. One of my newer pleasures is being intentional about styling my knits - it brings me much joy! If I get really ambitious this year, I’d like to learn to sew my own garments as part of the whole “slow fashion” experience.
I highly encourage your goal of learning to sew, Kim!! I admire those who can create the own wardrobe top to bottom. Also I think it ends up creating a more intentional, fit oriented knitter in the end as well.
Hailey, I discovered your podcast just a couple of weeks ago and although I don’t often comment, I really wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your podcast. Your thoughtful approach is so refreshing and I am inspired by your intent AND content. I love that you are an intentional knitter and not just chasing numbers. I also appreciate that I don’t have to hear all about what you are drinking and what you are drinking from. You and Charlotte at Every Stitch Counts are my favorite podcasters for all the same reasons! You have presented very unique projects and ideas. Yay!
Linda, I’m currently drink La Croix Limoncello from… a glass. 😆😆😆 Your comment made me laugh so hard. I’m glad you’re enjoying this space and finding something interesting here. Thank you SO MUCH for watching and commenting. It means the world!
I purchased the yarn and pattern for that Ozetta slipcover you’re wearing and it looks so cute on you that I’m motivated to cast on! Definitely going to do that contrasting neckband Also - I can tell by looking at you that you’re going to look adorable in that beret!
Oh yay!! I think you’ll really enjoy the yarn and you’ll have a garment you’ll wear for a very long time to come. I did forget one thing on the neckband, because it’s in rib, don’t forget to do your one row of stockinette in the color transition to avoid the purl bumps. xo
I like all of your thoughts for your upcoming video’s. I am new to knitting so appreciate all the info, hints, tutorials you want to share. I would like information/ tutorial on how to seam pieces of a garment together.
Welcome to the our little knitty community!! You’ll find the most wonderful people here. Check out my knitting tips playlist there is a GREAT video on mattress stitch seaming from Ysolda. It’s a great place to start!
Hello again from 🇬🇧- great video as always Hailey, and thanks so much for your comments and tips on the Ozetta tank- I cannot wait to cast on…it’s so appreciated 😊. Take care and happy mindful knitting for 2024.
Ahh the must have cardigan 😅 i remember it clearly as i spend soo much time on it when i was still not very experienced 🙈. I also ended up making a ton of modifications but it is such a nice grandpa style cardi (at least mine is since i made it longer and quite oversized).
You know what?! Someone did mention to me that you had knit this but I completely forgot that. She said you talked about it in an early episode. It is not the most straightforward pattern but I’m making in through. One sleeve, seaming and button band left!
You really inspired me with the Highland Slipover! So far, I have no slipover / vest, but I feel like I would love to try this kind of clothing for spring! May I ask, how big positive ease do you have? :)
I am moving in with my fiance in a few months, and trying to work through some of my stash before then. The lonely skein project sounds perfect for me! Thanks for the great idea and the great video
Thank you for the iPad tutorial. It was very useful, I’m going to spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the iPad! Highlighting patterns that recreate store bought jumpers would be interesting and maybe comparing costs?
Hi Hailey, I' ve just discovered your podcast, and I am in love with your esthetic ... colors, patterns.... everything. I was wondering if would like to show how you style your knits. Many thankyous for such inspirational podcasts.
Hi Cristina! Glad you found me and enjoyed the episode. Yes, I think it would be fun to do an episode on styling. I’m not good at the moment but I have ideas and inspiration to be better!!
Hi Hailey, I also just finished the must have cardigan. I also dislike the button band and want to rip it out and redo it. I can't wait to see the mods that you come up with. I might just copy your idea. Love your podcast.
Hello Hailey, I love all the subjects you have mentionned. I am a beginner-intermidiate knitter and I am particularly interested in your thoughts process before choosing a pattern and yarn. I know this process is a long process for me too. I enjoy all your podcasts thank you!
I am very interested in your podcast ideas for Season 2. I like to hear about the thinking behind each project. Styling is also a great topic, even knits you don’t wear. I did comment about lonely skeins and am ready to think about what I’ll do with mine! Looking forward to this project.
Hello Hailey! I’m a new subscriber and I do have a question. I purchase a Lichen &Lace kit for the Artus Shawl and excitedly cast on. However, I having so much trouble with the waffle stitch sections. It’s not waffling. I’ve ripped out 3 times already. I feel like I’m following the pattern exactly each time although I obviously am not. 😞My stitch count is correct🧐 And thoughts or suggestions?
Hi Heather! It’s a bit hard to say without seeing your knit. But I’d guess it’s one of two things (1) make sure you are knitting and slipping on the WS on the even rows (2) make sure your slipped stitches are aligning. Once you establish the pattern in the first 12 rows, you should be able to read the stitches fairly easily to make sure those line up.
Just found your channel. You are very sweet but your insecurities and apologies made me nervous. I'd love to participate in the knit along/ project along but I'm wondering if it will be filled with dread and apologies??? Please take this as constructive criticism because I'd like to see you succeed..with confidence!
Subscribed for Dad! Also, I really enjoyed your podcast!
Thanks Patty!!!
Thank you for subscribing to Hailey's podcast, Dad.
All your ideas sound great... we're all knitting nerds!! Love the idea of branching out into topics other than the usual FO/WIP/ etc line up. 😊
Wonderful!! I never know if that sort of stuff is boring. Glad to hear you’re into it!
Haha!! Yessssss I’m such a killjoy. But the setup rows really do make all the difference!!
This was the first of your podcasts that I’ve had the pleasure of watching. Thank you for sharing your ideas and projects. Focusing on the little orphan skeins is a great idea!
I am so glad you found it!! Yes, I’m hopeful I can make a dent in my lonely skeins bins. It would be a huge relief!!
I love all your ideas! I fully intend to join you in your stash KAL too. I am a crazy intentional knitter who loves to add my own touches to all projects I make.
Then we will have lots to ponder on this year together!!!
Enjoyed this episode while knitting on my pressed flowers shawl this morning. Lovely episode, as usual Hailey!!! Excited to see more of your spinning adventures and explorations unfold with your new spinning wheel. ❤❤❤

I’m so glad that your podcast showed up in my feed today. You’re a natural! ❤
Debbie, you’re so sweet!! Thank you!!

Thanks Josie!! If you didn’t catch it, the Yarn Sun video is up now. xo
I made her slipcover and get so many compliments. Love it. I added silk mohair.
BTW I named my daughter Hailey 44 years ago and she has spent her life spelling it.
It’s the I that makes the name, don’t you think?! Haha!
Thanks , Love the slow knit and matching your knits to your clothes 💗
Thanks so much for watching!! Hope you’ll cone back again soon. xo
The Must Have Cardi has been on my list forever! It’s so fun to see you modify it.
Mine too! It’s been a long project but I think it will be worth it in the end.
Hello Hailey! I definitely want to join your Lonely Skeins Project MAL. I have a lot of random one skeins. Your Highland Slipover looks great!
Yay!! I’m so glad you’re going to join in the fun!!

It has been a bit cold here for sure!!! But I have been loving the snow…. Not so much the ice.

Hi and thank you for your comment! I definitely want to share more about my thought process this year.
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
Hi Janet!! Nice to meet you!!
I am very interested in your podcast ideas for Season 2. I like to hear about the thinking behind each project. Styling is also a great topic, even knits you don’t wear. I did comment about lonely skeins and am ready to think about what I’ll do with mine! Looking forward to this project.
Yay!! I’m so glad you’re up for the Season 2 ride. It will be a fun year. Can’t wait to hear what you cast on!
As someone who also spends ages agonising over which pattern in which yarn to cast on I would be very interested in hearing about your process
I am going to try to share more on this with every project. Thanks for commenting, Jenny!
New to garment knitting, I am interested in wearability of yarns. Itchy, scratchy, pilling, etc.
Thanks Linda!! This is an interesting topic because it’s quite subjective. I’ll put some thought into this and see what I can come up with.
Maybe we need surveys😅
🍀
