Both the card and the poem touched my heart. I am leaving tomorrow to volunteer in Ukraine again for a couple of weeks. My heart will again get cracked open, and will be able to hold even more compassion - fierce compassion. My journey will begin, as all do, with a single step. And although I find airports to be a bit stressful, they are liminal spaces that always bring on a slightly stretched feeling. Thank you for this beautiful episode! I am already looking forward to the next.
Really enjoying this year’s MKAL. Did the mohair dare by substituting two strands for the CC. I also did brioche but decided to do the eyelets for the second pass My clue 3 is happening as we speak. Might be a lot more knitting this week Thanks for your content!
You, and you alone, showed me how lovely SWest’s patterns can be when done in a more muted palette. I think you show off his designs to their best effect. I’ve now made two different shawls thanks to you!!
Great Solo podcast Amanda! Glad Peggy is Having a much needed vacation. You both are a great team together. Love all the new products and look forward to the new knit along! 🎉
You have such a way about you that makes it a joy to watch,I'm crocheting and knitting while watching you, thankyou for such a varied and well put together vlog 🙂⭐🌸
Dear Amy 💗 truly enjoyed knitting along with you today. Such incredibly beautiful makes and your calm and comforting podcast is such a treasure. I’ve just realized that your laugh reminds me of my Auntie Jean. She is my mom’s youngest sibling and is my favourite Aunt. Thank you for being you! ❤❤❤
I just watched a knitting podcast on her top 10 people to watch all over the continent. I recommended you of course, my personal favorite, for so many reasons. Love to you and yours❤
Your color choices for your Soho Square are spot on with the picture of the moon!!! What a beautiful combination and what a fun story behind the choice of colors. It also ties in with (in my opinion) your love of astrology. I had no idea that the moon had different colors on it. Thanks for the new knowledge. 😊😉
HI Amy, Another fun and informative podcast. I love your Fairy Bouquet jumper. I not only bought the pattern as soon as I saw it, something ai really never do. AND, I was so smitten with her inspiration, a flower known as linaria. The year I bought the pattern I also did some winter sewing and linaria were among the seeds I planted with great success. This year I don't have quite as many seedlings coming back. I think it is time for me to make the sweater. I held back from making it because the more I looked at the more I thought it might be too warm for me to wear inside. I am considering using a plant based fiber for it. I haven't seen it for a while but I still really love the look of it. So thank you again for all you do to inspire us. AND wow, your version of the Artus is so different, so spectacular. I have been looking at many versions but did not recognize it when I first saw it.
Watching this was a lovely way to start the weekend (and to start the month of June come to think of it). I’m feeling inspired, and less guilty about my own recent acquisitions. 😊
I bought 12 colors of yarn on a trip to Norway recently, intending to make a very painterly version of Artus. Can’t wait to get started!! Yours is striking and so sophisticated, and I appreciated your thoughts about arranging the colors.
I’ve enjoyed your video very much! I too have knitted a fantastitch. I agree it was a fun project for me. I’ve followed your videos for a while while knitting…. Thought I would pop on to say hello and to thank you for sharing your creative gifts.
Oh Amy! It’s always so special when I see you have a podcast! I make your podcast my selfish time to slow down and be quiet. Your cards speak to me! And of course all your projects are beautiful and so inspirational! I immediately went and purchased the Artus Shawl! I have four colors in Holst and will be searching for 5th to make this beautiful piece!
Ooh - we’ll make sure you’re getting gauge with your Holst. If it’s the Supersoft it’s a very different weight from the sport weight used in the pattern. I think it was on the LA Knits podcast that I saw she knitted her Artus in fingering weight at a different gauge and it came out a smaller than expected.
When I saw your Artus shawl I immediately went to North Bay and grabbed a kit. It was # 5. Gray with coral, moss green and gold. Even though it is June 1, the code still worked. Your shawl is fabulous!
I received my journal today and it was in my lap while I was watching. i was happily surprised when you started flipping through and pleased that I could flip along!.
Hi there. You know, Andrea Mowry has a Weekender crew neck out for some time now. I am knitting on it as I write this, lol. I do not like boat necks either, because it irritates my throat. But with the crew neck now, it is just perfect to knit the weekender. 🙂
I love the idea of using a lovely photo as color inspiration. I am not confident in picking my own and usually rely on a set or kit and let someone else do this for me but I think the photo idea is a way to help me start choosing my own! Also I was eager to find where I could watch “Blackbird…” (foreign films are awesome) and want to see it and the other as well! Lol white lotus was highly entertaining. Didn’t you love the quirky music? I always love when podcasters recommend movies or books❤ And also I love the oracle reading you do at the beginning g if your episodes. Thank you for that as well!
It was so nice to spend time with you today, Amy! Just love all of your purchases and I actually purchased a kit from North Bay Fiber for the Artus shawl. I'll be casting it on very soon...yours is lovely and I love your color arrangement..thanks for sharing your time with us
I so enjoyed sitting and visiting with you this morning. I know that sounds a little silly but I do answer your questions as I'm working on the Stephen West Glittering Snowscape Shawl. I'm thinking I want to try one of the purl Soho shawls, yours are beautiful.
I very occasionally treat myself to yarn from the US and one year fairly recently decided to do so with Purl Soho, to get some Linen Quill. However, it turned out that they have some sort of system in place which meant my parcel arrived with a label indicating it had come to me from somewhere in SE England and though the actual shipping was £15-ish, there were no other fees to pay. (I believe Knit Picks does something similar?) I don't know the ins and outs, but it certainly means that buying from them, especially during a sale, is a bit more affordable.
Hello Amy. Another lovely podcast. The Artus shawl is stunning. A few podcasts ago you were sharing your shawls you have created. One was by Stephen West and I believe you knit it in black and white. I cannot find the podcast. Would you be mind sharing the episode number and or the the name of the shawl pattern Thank you so very much from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Hi Amy - I'm visiting Edinburgh in early September. I'm wondering if you have any inside info on where to buy Harris Tweed - hoping to avoid tourist options. Thanks!
Lovely episode Amy, thank you. I think since you recorded this episode Stephen West has released a new five skein shawl, Quirky Quintet. It’s a lovely design reminiscent of the Fantastich. I’d lost my knitting mojo but I have cast this on and it’s s delightful knit so far.
I have also cast on a quirky quintet, and also loving it so far! The Fantastitch was my first SW shawl and it's still one of my favorites, now it will get a sibling 😅
@@angeknitsandsews7867 I'm using a variegated yarn that I have had for a while and I finally found a pattern and colour combo that I really love, and all yarn is from stash. 😁 Yey for using your leftover MKAL yarn! I have so far started and abandoned 3 MKALs, I guess I should stop trying and aknowledge that it's just not for me. 😆
Thank you for a lovely video. I can’t find a link for the dark coloured BC Garn Jeans Reborn yarn, do you have a link for it? I would be most grateful x

Hi Amy what an awesome podcast. Where can I purchase one of those books.❤
The Journal of Scottish Yarns? You’ll find the link in the description box.

I could teach you crochet if you teach me to knit. Too bad I live in the USA.
