Saw Becky at a cafe in San Antonio recently , she was alone working on some stuff , I didn’t bother her but I appreciated to be in the presence of a legend
Coach Hammon was nervous in the beginning, but her tenacious character shows half way through her speech. She’s a leader and any organization would be lucky to have her.
Congrats to her, she did it the hard way, she earned it. Seeing coach Pop holding back tears watching like a proud father, I don’t know if anybody noticed, but David Robinson was sitting behind him and was tearing as well. Well done, and well deserved coach Hammond.

I started folIowing basketball at age 7, around the same time NBC began broadcasting its games. I never knew Ahmad Rashad was a legendary football player with the Vikings til much later in life. Growing up, I only knew him as the sideline reporter for NBA on NBC & host of Inside Stuff. In fact, I do remember Ahmad playing for the Sixers on a one day contract when they opened the Target Center. He did a segment on that show highlighting his performance LOL

I think it’s only players that need to be retired. I guess it makes sense for coaches to be inducted while they’re still coaching since waiting an extra 5 years from the point they retire could make it difficult for them to enjoy the moment due to old age or bad health. It would suck if most coaches only got to be inducted after they passed for example.
Becky is one of the few I really wanted to see get a job in the NBA She can coach her ass off. If men can listen to thier mothers they can certainly listen to a female coach. 😂🤣. Especially in basketball. Where both sexes play the game.

Just seems early. She was a good player and shes proven that she could end up being an all time coach in the WNBA, maybe even have success as a NBA head coach. But shes so early in her head coaching career. The timing feels forced because Popp was going in and they were just hamming it up for the publicity which dimishes the moment just a bit.
